When I went there, Zheduo Mountain was shrouded in mist and I couldn't see anything. Fortunately, it was sunny when I came back. It was beautiful! When I was making a guide, I saw that Zheduo Mountain was said to be the most dangerous mountain in Kham. But I think it's okay. Drive slowly. It's not that scary. It's not as difficult as I imagined. It may be because there is hidden ice in winter, so it's not easy to walk. Now there is no ice on the road in this season, but there are a lot of big cars. You still have to be careful when you take the bends. Now that the Yakang Expressway is open to traffic, it has become much more convenient. There are tunnels in many mountains and you don't have to climb the mountains. I didn't finish 318. I walked a short section between Linzhi and Lhasa. This time I walked a short section from Kangding to Litang. There was no bad road. I must finish 318 in the future! The steps leading up to Zheduo Mountain are too dirty. There is a lot of garbage. It's really uncultured. I'm convinced. I don't know what the trash can is for! This is really infuriating!

The driver said that the snow in Zheduo Mountain should be heavier than that in Kangding, but we didn't take it seriously. This was a very serious mistake! We underestimated the bad weather on the plateau. We thought that the heavy snow in the northeast was not a big deal, and Zheduo Mountain would not be difficult for us either. We even just bought a pair of anti-skid chains casually, thinking that we would not need them. Zheduo Mountain gave us a slap in the face. This first pass in Tibet taught us a thrilling lesson. The weather was fine at the beginning, but in less than ten minutes, there was a blizzard, sharp turns and steep slopes, and the road was slippery. Everyone stopped the car to tie anti-skid chains, which led to serious congestion afterwards. Our small anti-skid chains, compared with everyone's iron anti-skid chains, are extremely fragile! ! When installing the anti-skid chains, it was the time when the snow was the strongest and the wind was the most urgent. The anti-skid chain bag was blown away in an instant, and I couldn't open my eyes. I was afraid of catching a cold and couldn't continue the journey. It was very embarrassing. Fortunately, the tires of our car have strong grip and did not slip. There were constant car accidents along the way, and I was terrified. This is not the most memorable thing!

After seeing the shape of the four characters "Kangding Love Song" and heading towards Zheduo Mountain, everyone will be shocked by the scenery here! Great beauty! So beautiful! Wild flowers along the way are in full bloom, and tents with white backgrounds and blueprints are occasionally set up casually on the green grass. There may also be yaks, horses or sheep grazing leisurely, and their figures break into the field of vision, and our mood will become bright and casual. When the car passed Zheduo Mountain, I was amazed, and everything I saw was scenery! In the eyes of photographers, this is a surprising place to take pictures. The sun shines through the white clouds floating in the sky, and the mottled light is intoxicating. The magnificent Yala Snow Mountain nearby is in full view! The Mani Sutra Flags on Zheduo Mountain form many triangular or square flag arrays, fluttering in the wind, densely packed. Although the various colors have lost their former beauty in the wind and rain, it does not affect the piety of the Tibetans. It is said that the prayer flags are read by the wind to the ears of the Buddha.

I fell down under the altitude sickness before I even started feeling it.

The bus carrying us drove smoothly along the winding National Highway 318. In the morning light, the mountains in the distance rose and fell one after another, and the tops of the mountains were covered with a faint dark green light. From a distance, it seemed to exude a mysterious deep and quiet charm. As the car moved forward, the mountains also drifted backwards frame by frame like a film. Occasionally, the mountains covered with snow came into view, wrapped in silver in the soft morning light, and were extremely charming.

I drove aimlessly from the airport, originally just wanting to see what the scenery was like. I hesitated for two seconds at the intersection, because once I got on Zheduo Mountain, there was no turning back.

I regretted it as soon as I drove up, and for the next four hours, I slowly moved the car, regretting that instant decision. The snow was getting heavier, and there was a long line of cars, one next to the other. I was anxious at first, but later I got used to it and began to appreciate the snowy scenery outside the window.

It took 2-3 hours to drive over the mountain. When we got close to the top, it was completely white. There were a lot of cars and traces of car accidents. A tunnel was being built. Once it was completed, it would save several hours.

This was the first mountain with an altitude of over 4,000 meters that we climbed at the beginning of our Sichuan-Tibet trip. I still remember the excitement and excitement at that time. This time when we saw Zheduo Mountain again, it was covered with thick snow, which was a completely different scene. Many tourists parked by the side of the road and played on the snow. When we arrived at an observation deck, the view was quite wide, and we could clearly see the mountain road that spiraled up along the snow-capped mountains. The mountains in the distance were hidden in the snow and fog, and we could not see the whole picture, which added a sense of mystery and solemnity.

Zheduo Mountain is the first pass of Kham and an important geographical dividing line. To the west is the plateau uplift zone with the Yalong River, and to the east is the alpine valley zone with the Dadu River. To the east of Zheduo Mountain is the mountainous area, while to the west of Zheduo Mountain is the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the real Tibetan area. So it can be understood that after crossing Zheduo Mountain, you enter the Tibetan area. "Zheduo" means bend in Tibetan, and it is written in Chinese as "Zheduo".

After passing the Kangding Love Song Scenic Area, we arrived at Zheduo Mountain, which is the first high mountain pass that needs to be crossed on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. It is 4298 meters above sea level and is known as the "First Pass of Kangba". Once you cross Zheduo Mountain, you will officially enter the Kangba Tibetan area. Seeing the altitude displayed on the phone rising from more than 2000 meters, I became excited. When I saw the towering white pagoda and the rolling prayer flags, I could pull over.

Zheduo Snow Mountain is a must-go mountain. Zheduo Snow Mountain is the only way from Kangding to Xinduqiao Town. After crossing the pass with an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, Xinduqiao is within reach. There is an observation deck on the mountain with magnificent scenery.

From the parking lot of the Zheduo Mountain Observation Deck to the highest point of the observation deck, the prayer flag tower, you need to take a few breaks on the way to the top, otherwise your heart will beat fast. After you get up, you will feel like you can see all the mountains.

There are grilled beef skewers at the foot of the mountain. If it’s cold, you can order a few skewers. It’s quite delicious when paired with butter tea.

Strongly recommend: wear a windbreaker, gloves, a fleece hat, and non-slip shoes, it's really cold.

The other Zheduotang Viewing Platform is on the way to Zheduo Mountain. It is recommended to stop and take photos.

There should be more than one small slope on Zheduo Mountain, but this small slope is really not fun. It can only be used to test whether you can climb it. If you can't climb this small slope, Yading should just give up climbing it.

Zheduo Mountain, 4298 meters above sea level, is known as the "First Pass of Kham", and it is the first high mountain pass that needs to be crossed on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. When we arrived, Zheduo Mountain was shrouded in clouds and mist, and the top of the mountain was covered with thick fog. It is said that when the weather is fine, you can overlook the distant Gongga Snow Mountain from the observation deck on the top of the mountain, but the weather was not good when we went there, and the altitude sickness + cold wind made everyone unwilling to stay on the top of the mountain for long.

We had lunch in Kangding at 2:30 and arrived at Zheduo Mountain at almost 4:00. The altitude is very high. If you feel that you have altitude sickness, don't force yourself and don't go hiking. Just rest well in the car. Someone else who was traveling with you suffered from it. The scenery is beautiful. No matter how you take pictures, it will look good. You must climb up slowly. There are a few big words "Kangding Love Song" on the right, and the road from Kangding is on the left.

Fortunately, I didn't get carsick, haha. We went there in winter, but there was no snow, no snow, no snow. For two children from the south, it was really bad news, but overall it was good.

It is over 4,200 meters above sea level. Due to weather reasons, I was unable to see the winding mountain road on the plateau, but the snow-capped mountains vaguely visible in the clouds and mist seem like a dream every time I recall them.

The scenery of Zheduo Mountain is just so-so along the way, especially after the tourist ticket center was built, it feels like it has lost the natural feeling it used to have. The mountain road here is quite undulating, so be careful not to do strenuous exercise on the plateau. I had altitude sickness for 3 days after running here, which was really terrible.

The scenery in western Sichuan varies in style. Each has its own merits. The western Sichuan Plateau shows you a different cultural style. It makes tourists from afar linger.

Zheduo Mountain is located in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 4,270 meters. It is the first pass of Kham.

There was thick snow on top, so it was easy to slip. Halfway through the walk, the wind started to get strong, my hands were numb, and my ears were frozen red. The wind was even stronger and colder on top. I stayed there for a few minutes and then quickly retreated. I suggest wearing something thicker when I go up.

Let the body die once, and the soul be pure once. Complex people want to be simple, and simple people want to be complex. Coincidentally, I am the former.

Zheduo Mountain, known as the "First Pass of Kham", is the first 4,000+ mountain we climbed on Route 318. It unexpectedly gave us a huge surprise. Only when we leave Zheduo to the west can we enter the real Kham Tibetan area.

Please bring anti-skid chains in winter. Girls are better to bring a red scarf or shawl for a day. Zheduo Mountain is really beautiful after the snow.

Zheduo Mountain is the boundary between Tibetans and Han people. Although it is a free attraction, it is strongly recommended that you climb up as the view from the mountain is very broad.

There is a big mountain between Kangding and Xinduqiao. The wind at the pass is very strong. After being blown by the wind here, I felt a little bit of altitude sickness when going to Xinduqiao.

After the 13-kilometer-long new Erlangshan Tunnel was opened to traffic, Zheduo Mountain became the first mountain to cross when entering Tibet from National Highway 318. As mentioned earlier, when crossing Zheduo Mountain from Chengdu to the west, we encountered sleet and heavy fog, and did not appreciate the beautiful scenery of Zheduo Mountain. The weather was good when we returned, so I posted a picture to share.

Zheduo Mountain is a branch of the Great Snow Mountain and is an important geographical dividing line. We drove over Zheduo Mountain and there was a viewing platform halfway up the mountain. After reaching the top of the mountain, we had to climb a short slope to the pass. It was very difficult to take a photo without anyone in it, as uncles and aunts lined up to take turns to climb up the pass.

When we got off the car at the top of the mountain, there was still some blue sky and white clouds. After slowly adapting to the altitude, my friend really climbed every three steps and rested every two steps. After climbing only two steps, she sat down and panted, and told me that she couldn't go up anymore, so she sat there to rest. After I slowly climbed to the pass, I didn't expect her to follow me up. She also said that she didn't expect that there would be no problem after a rest. The key is that on the plateau, you have to slow down everything and take your time, and everything will be fine.

But the pass we climbed with great difficulty was shrouded in fog and mist. We couldn’t see anything around us. The fog monster was coming... I heard my companions muttering, "It’s my fault that the fog is so thick."

In fact, the real Zheduo Mountain is not just a roadside pass where you stop to take pictures. It is only one-third of the way to the first platform of the Golden Sail Pagoda. If you have the time and energy, you must climb to the top, which will give you unexpected magnificence and shocking beauty!

To get out of Kangding, you must cross Zheduo Mountain. I have walked this road many times in the past few years. The scenery on the road is picturesque, provided that the weather is good. The heavy snow on November 1 this year made tourists on Zheduo Mountain suffer again.

We crossed the Zheduo Mountain on the third day after the heavy snow. Traffic control was cancelled and it was basically smooth. The white scenery on the mountain was very beautiful.



Most of the vehicles line up obediently in order, but a very few cars would violate the rules and queue up even when crossing Zheduo Mountain. I remembered hearing at Huiyuan Temple that a convoy from Chongqing said that one of the important reasons for the traffic jam at Zheduo Mountain was that there were too many cars queuing up. This kind of car is the most annoying, so let's expose it.

Fortunately, there was a special police car on the road. When the special police saw the car cutting into the queue, they shouted to the car to make way without saying a word. There was no empty parking space on the side, so it was safe. The car retreated at least ten kilometers, which was a relief.

On the road, there was a special police officer waving to take a ride, and Teacher Li immediately stopped the car and got in. It turned out that he had just solved a vehicle problem and was going to the top of the mountain to wait. The special police officer was very young, only about 20 years old, wearing very thin clothes, and his face was red from the cold. We asked him with concern whether he should wear more clothes, and he said that wearing too much would be inconvenient and troublesome.

The Zheduoshan Tunnel is under construction. I heard that if it is completed, it will only take 2-3 hours to travel from Kangding to Xinduqiao, and it will no longer be affected by blizzards and will be safer. I felt altitude sickness for the first time at Zheduo Mountain. I was already out of breath after walking up the less than 100 steps. Although we kept in mind the altitude sickness guide: do not do strenuous exercise and climb slowly. After walking down from the viewing platform and getting back in the car, I still felt a slight headache.

It was snowing when I went to Zheduo Mountain on the 30th. There was no traffic jam. It was beautiful to see such scenery.

The car kept winding up the mountain, and it felt like we were climbing higher and higher. Suddenly, a white pagoda, many cars, and tourists appeared in front of us. Where is this?

The driver told me that it was Zheduo Mountain and we were about to cross it.

Since the Erlang Mountain Tunnel was completed, Zheduo Mountain has become the first challenging mountain on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

I felt much better after drinking a cup of hot butter tea for 15 yuan.

It takes an hour and a half to drive across Zheduo Mountain, but Zheduo Mountain is closed due to heavy snow for half of the year, which is very dangerous. It also causes traffic jams on this section of road all year round, and the actual travel time is even longer.

From the pass stone to the top, there is a stone stairway more than 100 meters high, which looks like a ladder to heaven. Many people are discouraged here, and their faces seem to be drunk because of the altitude sickness.



We gritted our teeth and walked slowly, finally reaching 4,400 meters. The 360-degree view was clear, and the tracks of the car just driven to the east were clearly visible. If the weather was fine, we could even see the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

Looking west from Zheduo, you can see vast meadows, dotted with yaks, lush summer grass and yellow flowers everywhere.

After parking the car, I was in a hurry to go up the mountain, but I didn't realize that there was a colorful prayer wall behind the car. The nine-layer prayer wall is built entirely of black stones, with golden characters on it: The first pass of Sichuan-Tibet, the prayer wall. On the prayer wall are prayer stones with words such as "Tashi Delek, a good journey, good luck and good fortune".

Zheduo Mountain is the first mountain to be crossed before entering Tibet, with the highest point at 4290 meters. Crossing Zheduo Mountain is the first step to enter Tibet.
