It took more than an hour to get there from Hangzhou Binjiang on a sunny weekend. The parking lot inside was full, but there were parking spaces on the roadside outside the ancient town.

There is no entrance fee to the ancient town, but some attractions inside require separate tickets. There are soy sauce and bacon worth buying. There is no factory, they are all made at home. The soy sauce brewing here has also been featured in A Bite of China. When you walk in, you can smell the aroma that makes you hungry. There are bacon sellers all along the street. I don't care. I just buy some to try after seeing which one is talking.

The ancient town is very small. It takes about two hours to walk slowly. You can also take a boat to see the scenery. There is an ancient stage not far from the entrance of the ancient town. One of the four ancient towns in Shaoxing, it is located in Keqiao, very close to Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. It takes only 30 minutes from the city to the ancient town, and even closer to Xiaoshan.

Located in Keqiao, Shaoxing, not far from Hangzhou Airport, but public transportation is not very convenient. You can drive or take a taxi.

Compared with Wuzhen and Luzhi Ancient Town, it is much smaller in scale. There are some houses, shops and several small museums along the east-west river. Bacon and dried radish are the specialties.

I went to Anchang Ancient Town because of its reputation, but I had a bad impression because I was ripped off by a restaurant called Guzhen Restaurant! There was no price list at all, and there was no menu. I thought the residents of the town should be simple, but when I paid the bill, I realized that I was too naive. A bowl of mixed bamboo shoots cost 38 yuan, and the bamboo shoots were so old that I couldn't bite them. A fish head soup cost 88 yuan, and a pickled quail cost 30 yuan, but it was only 10 yuan when I asked outside! This meal was more expensive than the one I had at Grandma's in Hangzhou! Remember, Guzhen Restaurant is a scam anyway, don't go there!!! Guzhen Restaurant is a rip-off!!!

I have been to Wuzhen and Xizhen, but I think the former two are too commercial and crowded. They are not as simple as Anchang Ancient Town. I have tried two restaurants in the ancient town: Yiguoxian and Hanji, both of which are good. The sausage is a bit salty but tastes very good, the quail is also delicious, and the dried bamboo shoots and pickled plums I bought home are also very delicious. I really want to come again when there are fewer people, choose a time with comfortable temperature and plenty of sunshine to drink tea, bask in the sun, and be in a daze...

You can't take bus 118 directly from Shaoxing West Station. You need to take bus 168 or bus 101 and transfer to bus 118. There are stalls selling preserved meat everywhere.

The styles of the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River are all similar. Although it is raining, there are still many tourists. It is not very convenient to walk. The tableware in the restaurant is very dirty. However, business is booming during the Spring Festival!

It is a good commercial ancient town, but the bathroom is not very clean. If you live in Keqiao District, you can go for a stroll, it is not far away. Sausages are the specialty here, and they are not bad. There is a noodle shop called Fuanju Snacks, which is reasonably priced. The owner is very friendly, and you can ask him to add some rice cakes and vegetables to the noodles. You don't need a ticket to visit the ancient town. There is nothing to see in the scenic spots that you buy tickets to enter. Only the Shaoxing Shiye Pavilion is more interesting. If you don't buy a ticket online in advance for 38 yuan, you have to buy it on site for 50 yuan. If you buy a 50 yuan ticket, it is recommended that you don't need to go there, just walk around the entire ancient town.

He looked like he was speaking up for Xitang. And I walked silently for a long time, repeating in my heart the slogan I gave to Anchang Ancient Town - "Hometown of Cured Meat, Anchang, China".
