Cangqiaozhi Street is located in the Yuezicheng Historical and Cultural Protection Area, with typical bluestone slabs, wet moss, black-sailed boats, and a scene of small bridges, flowing water and people's homes.
On both sides of the street are Shaoxing's unique Taimen buildings, as well as many shops and restaurants, specialty stores and exhibition halls.
There is not much commercial atmosphere here. Walking on the street, you will meet old people who have lived here all their lives. It is full of life.
Especially in the evening, you can feel the slow pace of life in the old street, and the photos you take are also very impressive.

It's OK. Some places are under renovation. But this street is not crowded. It's very interesting to walk slowly. It's much better than those crowded attractions. You must visit this street when you come to Shaoxing. It's not far from Shaoxing Railway Station. Take bus No. 51 at the railway station, go through six stops, get off at Shaoxing Grand Theater, and walk a few minutes inside to arrive.
Old Street Reviews:
Commercialization level: Cangqiao Street is larger than the hometown of the Sage of Calligraphy, Jishan Street is larger than Bazi Bridge
Beautiful scenery: Jishan Street is larger than Bazi Bridge and Cang Bridge
Cangqiao Street, if it weren’t for the “Shaoxing folk snacks”, I would probably just pass by it in a hurry. The pedestrian street is somewhat separated from the stream.
Jishan Street, the first recommendation! There are many allusions to Wang Xizhi in it, such as Dopo Nong and Mochi. The scenery is better than Cangqiao. The pedestrian street is very close to the stream.
Bazi Bridge, the second recommendation! There is no commercial atmosphere. Old ladies sit together and chat in the sunset. It is very good to exercise on the small bridge.
But it doesn't matter if there is a commercial atmosphere, after all, you have to make a living. From the experience point of view, Jishan and Bazi are better.
Cangqiao Street, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, is located in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is 1.5 kilometers long and consists of three parts: river, residential buildings, and neighborhoods. Most of the residential buildings were built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. Many of the gates with local characteristics are well preserved, with a strong water village style. In 2003, it won the "2003 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Cultural Heritage Protection Excellence Award".
On both sides of the river, there are mainly traditional waterside houses, and each house has a small river port in the backyard, which is a typical "one river and five streets" pattern in Shaoxing City. Most of the houses were built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. There are 43 various types of gates, which were basically built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, and some are new buildings imitating ancient styles.
Cangqiao Street in Shaoxing is the "Buddhist top stream" in the Jiangnan old street world! Want to experience the original ecological life of the water town for free? Come to the right place - the old street certified by the United Nations, with a large number of old houses from the Qing Dynasty, but there is not even a proper gate. You can only find the entrance by relying on the tricycle driver to point the way😅
The whole street is only 1.5 kilometers long, but it condenses the soul of Jiangnan. The black-sailed boats are swaying in the bridge holes above your head (the boatman paddles with his feet, which is very cool), the bluestone roads are polished to a shiny patina, and the most amazing thing is that the doors along the road are like opening a blind box - you may run into an old man selling bamboo weaving, or you may be hit in the face by the moldy dried vegetables dried by an old lady 🤣 I suggest a full cup of rice wine milk tea, and while drinking it, you can watch the local uncles calmly drying their underwear by the river. It is magical and real.
Come after 4pm! The setting sun casts a soft light filter on the old street, and the air is filled with the aroma of rice from the coal stove. Look for the entrance of Guangming Road, which leads directly to Lu Xun's former residence.
Walking along Cangqiao Street, it feels like stepping into a vivid Jiangnan ink painting. This ancient street carries a heavy history, and the bluestone road has witnessed countless years of changes. The Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings on both sides are scattered and orderly, exuding an antique atmosphere. The small bridges, flowing water, and the leisurely sailing of the black-sailed boats form a harmonious and peaceful picture. This is a paradise for tasting authentic Shaoxing cuisine, stinky tofu, rice wine popsicles, drunken crabs, every snack is a feast for the taste buds. Cangqiao Street is not only a tourist attraction, but also the soul of the ancient city of Shaoxing, making people intoxicated with its ancient charm and style.

There is no strong commercial atmosphere, but more of the old Shaoxing style. To the west of Lu Xun's former residence, the street is straight, probably because of this it is called Straight Street. Yujingxuan on the street seems to be quite famous, serving traditional Shaoxing cuisine.
The Jiangnan water town scenery, with commercial development, is nice for strolling and dining.
The old streets and alleys of Shaoxing have now been turned into pedestrian streets. There is a fried stinky tofu stall run by an old lady with a long queue.
It feels like one of the must-visit attractions in Shaoxing, where you can eat stinky tofu and rice wine milk tea.
This place is not bad, not very commercial, original flavor
Went at night
The old man's stinky tofu is delicious
Selling clothes, selling tea, selling time, selling stories
This was my first stop in Shaoxing. The hotel I booked was very close to here, so I went here as soon as I arrived. Why can't I take pictures like the ones on the Internet?
Lunqiao Street in Shaoxing is a famous historical street in Shaoxing! There is no entrance fee for visiting the ancient street. You can visit it during the day and at night. It is a good place for leisure. It is about 1.2 kilometers long. The only drawback is that there are no hotels and accommodation.
I don't know why I like ancient towns so much. I have been to so many places but I still like ancient towns. I walked into the quiet ancient town along the bluestone road. It doesn't have the noise common to other ancient towns, but it has accumulated heavy historical traces. I had dinner at Yulongjing, which was very good. I really want to have a house like this to open a homestay.
A slow and comfortable life makes people feel particularly relaxed
The old street is not very prosperous, the road is very narrow, some houses on both sides of the road are occupied by people, some are shops, there is business but not noisy, it feels a bit like going back to the past
There are many small shops on both sides of Cangqiao Street
These are some buildings to welcome tourists and places to buy things.
Ancient streets all over the country are basically the same, with two rows of ancient buildings or antique buildings, selling fried stinky tofu, grilled sausages, milk tea and other things, and a few youth hostels with a so-called literary atmosphere. Cangqiao Zhijie is slightly different in that it is built along the river (or a small ditch), and the traces of renovation are not so obvious. Lubian's special cakes and various snacks with rice wine are worth a try
It's a shabby street with unremarkable buildings, stinky tofu and candy vendors everywhere, it's just so-so.
A good place worth visiting, clean and exuding the flavor of the Jiangnan water village.
The main street of Cangqiao Zhijie is mostly selling food. There are not many internet-famous shops that can be named, and there are also a few Chinese medicine clinics. Passing by Zhuangyuan Building, there were crowds of people at the door. Personally, I still think that the residential houses imitating Ming and Qing architecture next to the main street are more charming. Watching the black-sailed boats passing by, I felt like I was in the water town of Jiangnan.
This place is very beautiful, with the characteristics of Jiangnan water town, highly recommended
When we came to Shaoxing for team building, we spent almost three days around Cangqiao Street, but we only walked the two main streets. When we went to the train station on the last day, we found that the old streets around it were more local. I suggest that those who go there must walk around more. For meals, there are Xunbaoji and Yujingge, which are considered to be representative local restaurants. The taste is quite satisfactory, and there is nothing particularly impressive. However, I found maggots in Yujingge, and the attitude of the person in charge was very tough at the beginning. Because we were in a hurry to catch the train, we barely finished the whole table of food, but everyone’s good mood for the trip was completely ruined, and we will not go a second time. There is Huijingxuan at the corner of the street, which specializes in rice wine and snacks. It can be said to be the representative taste of Shaoxing. It is recommended to try it.
There is an old street between Fushan and City Square, full of snacks and clothing stores. I lived not far away and ate Shaoxing cuisine at Xunbaoji at one end of the street. It felt good.
It was not interesting, and the smell of stinky tofu followed us all the way, which made my friend’s head explode. We came and left in a hurry...
There is a small stone arch bridge at one end of the street. The stone steps of the bridge are covered with moss, and some are cracked, showing its age.
It felt even quieter in the bustling city, and most of the shops were closed. The street and houses looked old, and the road was wide. There were several private art galleries on the street, including the Kurahashi Impression Art Exhibition, which we visited. The rain was drizzling, making the street even quieter, and the atmosphere of art was everywhere.
There are private collections hidden in the small shops on Zhi Street that are hard to find.
Shows the original appearance of Shaoxing, simple and peaceful, like walking through the streets and then taking a boat back
After dinner, we strolled along Cangqiao Zhijie Street, which is a pedestrian street. Most shops were closed at night. I felt that the tour was too long and I was quite tired.
Cangqiao Street is similar to Pingjiang Road and the waterside alleys in the ancient town. However, Cangqiao Street is slightly different in color, more elegant, and of course, less crowded. The prices of the shops on the street are also relatively reasonable. Cangqiao Street is next to Fushan, and the location is also very good.
The historical heritage of the old Shaoxing city is so profound that it gives every lane and river a special charm.
Shaoxing is such a unique place. It was the first time I ate rice wine ice cream and rice wine popsicles here, and they tasted pretty good!
The small bridges, flowing water and houses really have the flavor of the Jiangnan water village!
A very good cultural street, with the atmosphere of local life and commercial atmosphere, rich variety of snacks, everything you want is here 😁😁 Friendly reminder that the restaurants on this street are open after 4:30. There is a stinky tofu on the street, made by grandma and grandpa, there are always people queuing up, the price is cheap 5 yuan a bowl, radish cake 2.5 each, stinky tofu does not taste stinky. There is glutinous rice in the rice wine popsicle, which is ok. Simi Ke's rice wine yogurt, the wine smell sinks to the bottom of the cup, the wine smell is strong, and the surface is osmanthus honey, it is worth recommending 15 a bowl. Cangqiao Zhijie after the rain is beautiful, I won't say more about the picture 😆😆
There is nothing special about it, it is just an ordinary old street and commercial street. It is not a must-see attraction.
Free, good food, artistic conception, stinky tofu, old lady
The purpose is to walk around and eat. The small bridges and flowing water, the white walls and black tiles, the old street gates, the gentleness of the water...
The water town characteristics of Shaoxing are displayed here, including boatmen wearing Kong Yiji-style felt hats, people passing by in black-sailed boats, camellia flowers on both sides of the river, and rice wine popsicles that you must try.

There are a lot of teahouses near Cangqiao Zhijie Street, where a few close friends can sit together, drink tea and sing songs.
Making friends over tea and expressing emotions through music, the atmosphere is full of a strong sense of life.
Cangqiao Street is the old street of Shaoxing, and the scenery is nice at night.
It is a historical and cultural street featuring the style of an ancient city and traditional dwellings, integrating residence, commerce and tourism.
When I was in junior high school, I was attracted by the plot of Lu Xun and Sanwei Bookstore when I was studying Chinese. I came to see it in person, felt the flavor of the time, and experienced Lu Xun's life, and I felt a lot.
It is a special food street with some special food shops. It also retains several old shops. It is nice to visit it if you have time.
Cangqiao Zhijie Street is the most touching and childhood memory of this walk. It is quiet in the midst of bustling city, especially suitable for families and couples to walk around here, look at the small bridges, flowing water, and people's houses, and watch the fleeting time.
It's pretty good, I like it very much, the grandma's radish cake is also delicious! And Shaoxing yogurt.
On October 13, 2016, Cangqiao Zhijie, I went here to eat in the dark at night. After dinner, I walked around the ancient street. I looked up and saw Cangqiao Zhijie. Wow, I was so happy. The lights were on. The whole street was dark. Only two or three shops were open for business with orange lights in front of them. I walked on the bluestone slabs and touched the gray and white mud walls. Occasionally, I turned around and went into the rice wine shop to chat with the boss. The cat in the house stared at me with its vigilant eyes, as if I was stealing wine. I heard the sound of Shaoxing Yue Opera, and the old man sat at the door and squinted his eyes and hummed with the radio. The two houses on the left and right of the bridge head have been converted into pubs, selling beer and snacks. Several young people laughed and cursed and got drunk. The various aspects of the market in Shaoxing are very far away from our urban life, but they are very close to my childhood without high technology.
There are a lot of people lining up at Zhuangyuanlou, and other shops on the street are not very popular
I came here as soon as I arrived. I am a northerner and I like the style of the southern water town. So a friend recommended me to come here. Sure enough, there are bluestone roads, old buildings and ancient bridges. I also walked along the alley to someone else's backyard. I was a little embarrassed, because I really wanted to feel the feeling of having a small river behind the house.

The river is lined with waterside houses, most of which were built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. There are 43 different types of terraced gates, which reflect the traditional architectural features and folk customs of Shaoxing. There are many traditional shops and restaurants on both sides of the street. In order to let tourists know more about Shaoxing customs, local institutions have also opened Yueyi Hall, Huangjiu Wine House, Drama Hall and Calligraphy and Painting Hall on the street.
After visiting Lu Xun's hometown, we walked to Cangqiao Street, a historic street. It is not busy, but the buildings are still quite historic. The street is not wide, and the life of local residents is authentic. It was already 5 o'clock when we arrived at Qingteng Book House, so we did not go in for a visit.
We stayed at Shaoxing Hotel, so we went to the nearby Cangqiao Street. The whole street was very desolate, with nothing there. It was deserted and smelled of stinky tofu. It had no special features.
Among the ancient streets in the ancient city of Jiangnan, Cangqiao Street is the most exquisite one, and it has everything that an ancient water town has!
I feel that this old street is not worthy of its reputation. It has no charm and characteristics, and can be defeated by more than 80% of the old streets in the country. There are few varieties of snacks, and the streets are full of stinky tofu. Stinky tofu is a bit popular in Shaoxing, and it seems to have occupied most of the scenic spots, which makes the ancient buildings and scenic spots that should be quaint and charming smell the "fragrance" of stinky tofu, which is also a unique urban culture.
A typical street with small bridges, flowing water and people's homes. There are very few people and it is worth a visit
Not as good as the ratings, not as good as Jishan Street. Maybe it's because we went there at night, there were a lot of people, and we had a bad stinky tofu...
I like this place, but there are too many people and I have no desire to take pictures
During the three days in Shaoxing, I walked Cangqiao Street three times, but I didn't walk the whole street. I only walked the northern half. You can't see water in this half. There are all kinds of gates. Of course, all of them are transformed into small shops. There are fewer residents, and most of them are doing business. Because I didn't see water, I felt that my impression of Cangqiao Street was one-sided, even incomplete. Although I didn't have a very good impression of this street, I dare not comment on it.
Cangqiaozhi Street is on the east side of Fushan Mountain, connected to the city square in the north and the Shaoxing Museum in the south. From the map, it is about 2 kilometers. I thought the north and south were about the same, but I didn't expect that this part of Renmin West Road north of it had no water at all (it can be considered two-thirds), but it is not a pity because of the precedent of Xixiao Road. The most common things on the street are catering, with all kinds of stinky tofu and well-known shops. Most of the stalls along the street sell peanut crisps, melon seed crisps, dried plums and the like. It is relatively reliable to eat on this street. The price is not expensive, and the food is also very Shaoxing-style. Several Internet celebrity restaurants have been tested and are good. Although there is no peerless delicacy, at least there is no thunder. However, there are fewer places to eat breakfast. It seems that there is only one Laotianda Wonton Bar.
My impression of Kurabashi Naoki Street is currently about food.
Liujiataimen, my home, the water town in my dreams
This is the most famous old street district in Shaoxing. The old street has been transformed into a commercial street, which inevitably makes people feel monotonous and boring. However, the surrounding non-commercial areas still have the most original beauty of Shaoxing.
There are more stinky tofu here than in Taiping Street, Changsha, and there are long queues outside several of the shops. Although I am not against stinky tofu, the smell of stinky tofu and the long queues on the whole street are not appealing, and I always feel that there is a strong sense of disharmony with Jiangnan.
My friend and I searched for a while and finally found a Japanese restaurant. The porcelain lucky cat on the bar was very cute. When I saw the ramen on the menu, I thought of Ichiraku ramen in Naruto, so I ordered a bowl. The noodles were a little soft, but the soup was delicious.
It’s an old street for burning incense, just a short walk away, and then we go to Fushan Park.
Old streets, old shops, and a local dialect that is hard to understand. People are playing chess, basking in the sun, and cutting sugar cane. They don’t know how to shout, and you can choose whether to buy or not. But if you ask the boss, he will be humble and polite. There is also the famous stinky tofu.
There is a shop on the street that is quite different. There is a sign of Su Xing Xia hanging on the door.
The boss was very enthusiastic and knew a lot. When asked about the origin of this store, the boss took out his mobile phone and started telling the story.
10,000 words omitted. In short, this store has no boss. They are all temporary bosses. Everyone can be the boss of this store. The idea is very Internet-like. Create the feeling of a city living room.
Attached are a few photos of their shop. The boss's big bowl of tea is very authentic, and you can see the black-sailed boats along the river. Hehe
A street that has basically kept its original flavor. This is a street in the Jiangnan water town and a street with a long history. Whether it is sunset or a ray of sunshine in the morning, strolling here is a special kind of fun. At the end of the ancient street, there is also a Zhuangyuan Restaurant that has been in business for more than 10 years. The food is quite good!
It's a good old Shaoxing restaurant, but it's too hot in the summer and there's no cream pancake.

Cangqiao Zhijie Street doesn’t seem to have much special features and feels just average.
People in Shaoxing really live their lives. They have not given up their quiet and leisurely lives because of this ancient city. Especially when walking on the stone pavement of Cangqiao Street, there are quiet rivers, drooping green willows, barking dogs, and babies crying for food.

I was planning to come here, but I wasn't ready yet. I accidentally booked a room late, and was pleasantly surprised on the way to the hotel! It was so beautiful, and it happened to rain, which made it even better.
On the first night of arriving in Shaoxing, I took a walk downstairs of the hotel. I accidentally walked here without any travel guide. It was very comfortable. There was no strong commercial atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be busy with their own lives, and there was no shouting all over the street. The buildings also have the characteristics of Jiangnan. It is suitable for taking various literary photos.
Shaoxing Old Street, small bridges, flowing water, and houses on both sides.
After coming out of Lanting, I went straight to Cangqiao Street to eat. There were so many people in Zhuangyuanlou and Zhuangyuanfu that I really didn't want to queue. When I walked in, I saw the dried plum pancake. The whole pancake was baked fragrant and crispy and delicious. I also had a bowl of magnolia tofu, which was refreshing.
The flavor of the Magnolia tofu is also adjusted according to the season. Now it is mint and sugar, and in September it will be osmanthus honey.
In the old streets of Shaoxing, you can still see old-fashioned things such as tailor shops and barber shops, which are very friendly. In addition, you can take a black-sailed boat to see the small buildings on both sides of the river, which gives you a feeling of leisurely time in the ancient town.
It is the last authentic private plot preserved in Shaoxing City.
[Queue up to Cangqiao Zhijie Street]
When traveling with parents, you can’t avoid a meal at a “time-honored restaurant”, which is more about eating with feelings.
I wanted to have dinner at the Xianheng Hotel.
But after talking to friends in Shaoxing, I found out that the current ordering method of Xianheng Hotel is similar to that of Food Republic.
Considering that my dad is quite particular about the atmosphere of "eating", I gave up.
Finally, according to DP, we chose two Jiangzhe restaurants on Cangqiao Street with good reviews.
While eating, you can also ask your parents to swipe the “I was here” button.
There are all kinds of stalls on the street, and there are queues for stinky tofu, which smells good.
Finally, we had dinner at Yulongjing on Cangqiao Street, and did not look for food on the street again.
Small shops also close early, so you can just wander around.
It is a short ancient street. There are still many people living there. There is a "Zhangjiataimen" with a long history. It is more down-to-earth and simple than Qilishantang in Suzhou. It is not overly developed and commercialized.
📍Cangqiao Street is located in the northwest of the old city of Shaoxing. It is a well-known historical and cultural district in old Shaoxing and a landmark pedestrian street. This old street is not too long. On both sides of the river, there are mainly traditional waterside houses. There is a small river port in the backyard of each house, which is a typical "one river and five streets" pattern in Shaoxing. These houses were basically built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, and there are also a small number of new buildings in the style of antiques.
✨Cangqiao Street is not as commercial as I imagined. Even during the Dragon Boat Festival, the alleys are not crowded. Walking on the bluestone road and crossing the small stone bridge, you can appreciate the prosperity of Shaoxing, and in the evening you can see local people walking on the street. The slow pace of life in the old city can be carefully experienced here.
⚙Many houses along the street have been renovated into traditional-style shops and restaurants, and there are also Yueyi Hall, Huangjiu Wine House, Drama Hall, etc. that showcase Shaoxing's local customs and folkways. But what attracted me more were the snack stalls set up by local elderly people on the street, which were full of the flavor of the city life.
🍲The old Shaoxing stinky tofu on the street is a very famous local snack. The tofu cubes are not big and the taste is very different from the stinky tofu in our Huguang area. It is not spicy, but crispy and delicious.
🚲If you are tired of walking around, you can call a rickshaw. There are many rickshaw drivers on Cangqiao Street. The starting price is 10 yuan, and they can basically take you to places a few stops away. If you negotiate the price, they can also take you around Shaoxing City.
