I went there on December 1st. As someone who grew up inland, the island scenery was quite pleasant. The B&B we stayed in was especially clean. We bought our own seafood; the owner's wife was ill and couldn't cook, so her mother-in-law cooked for us, and it was delicious. A family was frying something that looked like fish balls and offered us a free sample. PS: The island is very clean and safe.

Other free scenic spots include Dongao Beach, Colorful Dongtou Village, Xiaopu Fishing Village, Huagang Fishing Village, Baidie Windmill, and Shaao Beach. It's a truly fun experience, allowing you to experience the charm of the mountains and the sea.
I went to Dongtou on October 31, 2015. It was very windy that day. There were islands and reefs scattered all over the place, and the Haixia Military Theme Park was also worth a visit.

I went to a place I never want to go again. I didn't see the beach I promised myself. There was only a cobblestone stall less than 100 meters long. The sea breeze was quite strong, and the waves hit the rock walls. The sea water was as yellow as the Yellow River. It's a rare trip to Wenzhou, and I feel it was a waste of time.

On July 19, 2018, I had the opportunity to visit Xiandieyan Rock on Dongtou Island. It was a lovely experience. The sea and sky were almost azure (though the blueness was a bit of a stretch), with steep cliffs and a fading sea and sky in the distance. It was like a blend of mountains and water, a fusion of mountains, sea, and sky. The walking path along the sea was well-built, so it wasn't very tiring. The only slight tiring part was getting in and out of the area; the rest of the walk was mostly on flat ground. The scenery was beautiful.
An island you can drive to directly—that's what drew me here! 😜 The scenery is beautiful, and the island isn't very large. Walking around, you'll notice it's not crowded, and the prices are affordable. For example, during the summer, B&Bs are 160-180 NTD. You can bargain, but if it's too expensive, don't stay! There are many unique small villages and graffiti-covered streets. It looks like a small attraction in Shuanglang, Yunnan.😇
As for the beach, I suggest you drive around more. It's not difficult to find a beach with few people and fun. It's also nice to take pictures because you don't like dumplings.

We went there in late July for a day-long road trip. In the morning, we visited Wanghailou. At noon, we dined at a seafood restaurant ranked number one on Dianping.com. Seafood is quite expensive during the fishing ban period. After dinner, I wanted to visit the Haixia Military Museum, but couldn't find it after searching for ages. I gave up and went to Xiandie Rock instead. The entrance fee was 50 yuan. The weather was too hot, so my companions just glanced at it from a distance from the boardwalk before heading back to the beach. I braved the scorching sun and headed out alone to see the beauty. In a single day, I only visited two attractions. On my way out, I bought small crabs and large crab legs on the roadside to take home. I wasn't careful when I bought them, and when they were steamed and served, the large crab legs were stinky. The small crabs were still good because they were still alive. Overall, the island atmosphere was rich, and the houses on the hill were beautiful. A cleaner sea would have been nice. However, I have one complaint: at the beach, changing clothes and showering cost 30 yuan, and changing again cost another 30 yuan. A bad review.
