The scenic area is very large and it takes 2 days to play properly. We were short on time and didn't make it to Mount Luojia, so we can only leave it for next time.

There are buses in the scenic area, and the ticket prices range from 5 yuan to 10 yuan.

As time was limited, we first took a bus to the cable car, which cost 40 yuan one way to Huiji Temple. Then we went down the mountain from Huiji Temple to Fayu Temple, and then to Puji Temple.

The last places we went to were Nanhai Guanyin and Zizhulin, but we refused to go to Guanyin Temple.

Puji Temple is the main temple of Putuo Mountain, and it is also very popular. We took out the incense we prepared in advance, but we were not sure how to worship. At this time, a young man who seemed to be very knowledgeable came to us and gave us a detailed introduction to the series of actions of holding incense, lighting incense and bowing. Then he offered to take us around the temple as a tour guide for only 30 yuan. Considering that the main purpose of this trip was to worship Buddha, we agreed to find a professional person to lead us.

Putuo Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains and is the dojo of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. There are countless temples on the whole mountain. But generally speaking, the most important and must-visit ones are Puji Temple, Fayu Temple and Huiji Temple, which are located in the front mountain, back mountain and top mountain respectively.

In the morning, there are buses from Zhoushan Putuo Long-distance Passenger Transport Center to Zhujiajian Zhoushan Tourism Distribution Center, which is Zhujiajian Wharf. Tourists from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and other places can first take a bus to Dinghai or Shenjiamen, and then transfer to the bus to Zhujiajian.

The ticket prices for Putuo Mountain Scenic Area will be reduced to:

In January and December, the ticket price is 120 yuan per person

From February to November, the ticket price is 160 yuan per person

From the first to the fifth day of the first lunar month, from the first to the third day of May, and from the first to the fifth day of October, the ticket price is 180 yuan per person (excluding boat tickets)

The one-way ticket is 30 yuan and the round-trip ticket is 60 yuan.

From Zhujiajian, I took a boat to Pudaoshan Scenic Area. After landing on the island, I found that the scenic area is actually very large. Especially for distant scenic spots, it is best to pay for a scenic area bus, which costs 5 to 10 yuan. I personally think the scenery is average, mainly because this place has great significance and is given a certain meaning.

The overall environmental protection is also very good. You can encounter trash cans in a few steps. You can see them when you want to throw things. There are 9 scenic areas in Putuo Mountain, each with several scenic spots. You can take a scenic tourist bus to travel between scenic areas. To visit all the scenic spots in each scenic area, you still need to walk a lot. So you need to plan the route of the scenic bus well.

The roads in Putuo Mountain are very safe because there are no private cars or taxis, only scenic area vehicles and bicycles. However, only the island residents have bicycles, and they are not very willing to borrow them.

As one of the four famous Buddhist mountains, it has a strong Buddhist atmosphere. If you are a devotee of Buddha, it is recommended that you come and see it and pay your respects. The whole island is like a green lung, and the air is particularly good. After staying in a big city for a long time, you can change the environment and breathe fresh air. If you are just here for entertainment, it is recommended that you think about it again, because there are not many amusement facilities, and the beach is not as good as the beaches in other places, because the area near Zhoushan Islands is a mudflat, unlike the beaches in other places, which are all sandy, so the sea water is relatively yellow.

I don't need to say much about the significance of Mount Putuo to Buddhist believers, just from the perspective of ordinary tourists. Mount Putuo is full of dense ancient trees, which are large and thick, towering into the clouds, and the trees are well protected. In this regard, strolling in Mount Putuo is a real enjoyment. In particular, several temples in the mountains are shining under the cover of the towering trees. The perfect combination of nature and faith is very beautiful. (However, the incense in the temples is too strong, and I was forced to cry in the fresh rain forest due to the smoke, which is very ironic)

Let me talk about one more good thing. I originally thought that living on Putuo Mountain, I would not be able to go anywhere after the sun sets. I didn't expect that there were dim yellow street lights everywhere on the mountain, which was very artistic. There were also many tourists who took advantage of the night to ride bicycles around the island (there should be a bicycle rental service somewhere). I have to say that the scenic area management is very good.

Then let's talk about the bad things, which are also well known. How crowded are there? We arrived at the temple at 8 o'clock on Monday morning. It was still rainy, but people could be seen everywhere. You can see what the scene will be like during the weekend. Then there are the high prices. For example, oranges are 15 yuan per catty, and corn is 10 yuan per head. Many believers have been forced to bring instant noodles and bread up the mountain in large and small bags. There is no cheap place on the island, and everyone wants to rip you off. They have forced themselves to have no business. It can be seen that the official management of the scenic area has no common sense of economics. This business philosophy of all scenic area management in China is really disgusting.

For non-believers, the conclusion is: definitely don't come on weekends and holidays. If you want to come, arrange a more comfortable itinerary for yourself and stay in a better hotel so that you can fully experience this primeval forest-like island on the sea. Otherwise, why bother coming to add to the congestion?

It was Saturday, and there were so many people worshipping Buddha that even though we rushed to the cableway right after getting off the boat, when we got there, it was already a sea of ​​people. While queuing, we saw believers kneeling three times and kowtow nine times as they climbed the mountain, and we couldn't help but sigh at the power of faith.

After waiting in line for more than 40 minutes outside and another 20 minutes inside, we finally got on the cable car.

I have been to the Guanyin Bodhisattva in Hainan Island, to Emei Mountain, and to Nanputuo Mountain in Xiamen. To be honest, I don’t go to Putuo Mountain because I am not a believer. I don’t go there just because it is famous. You know how vain Chinese people are. But the scenery is not that attractive. There are a lot of people and beauties, haha, mainly because Jiangsu and Zhejiang are close, so many people come here.

Vehicles can be parked in the parking lot at Zhujiajian Wharf, and you can buy a ticket and get on the boat in about 20 minutes. Now you need an ID card to buy a boat ticket. The boats here stop at 10 pm every day, but may stop at any time if the weather is bad. So if you are going to Putuoshan and are not staying in the scenic area, it is recommended that you keep an eye on the information on the island. We were in Putuoshan all day and visited Fanyin Cave, Puji Temple, Fayu Temple and Nanhai Guanyin!

On October 15, 2016, I took a bus from Shaoxing to Zhoushan for about 4 hours, then took a bus to the beach and stayed in a hotel for one night. The next day, I started my pilgrimage.

People usually choose to live in Xishan District 1 and Xishan District 2. Living in Xishan District 1 is close to the pier, which is also close to the bus station, suitable for traveling by car; living in Xishan District 2, transportation is not convenient, but it is very close to Xitian Scenic Area and Puji Temple, and can be reached on foot.



Price: Xishan District 1 is more expensive than Xishan District 2. We live in the prime location of Xishan District 1, very close to the pier. The standard room is 200 yuan, which is a special price. Usually, the price is more than 200 yuan. In Xishan District 2, it is more than 100 yuan. But the most expensive is Longwan New Village. It is said that the rooms there can see the sea view and are close to the pier. This is just what I say on the Internet. I have not experienced it myself. I write it down for your reference.



By the way, a bowl of fried rice is 25 yuan, which is a bit expensive. So in Putuo, you can eat fried rice and fast food. Rich people can eat seafood feast at will.

I have been there twice, more than ten years apart. This time I stayed at a farmhouse and felt very good. However, I had a meal at a small hotel below the farmhouse the night I first arrived, which felt very expensive. A small stir-fried meat cost 37 yuan, and I asked for mantis shrimp, which cost more than 80 yuan. Shredded potatoes cost 27 yuan, which was comparable to Beijing. The next day, I had lunch at the canteen of Meichen Restaurant. It was very good, with many varieties and very affordable prices. Scenic spots need such restaurants, and they should not give people the feeling that everything in the scenic spot is expensive. Putuo Mountain, a sacred place with beautiful scenery

We went there on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year. It was crowded with people. The ticket seller of the sightseeing bus said that there were not many people. Putuo Mountain is a place my father wanted to go, but!! Our family does not burn incense and worship Buddha at all. My father just wanted to go, so he went.

We stayed in Zhoushan Putuo District the night before, and drove to Zhujiajian Wugongshi parking lot the next day. There were so many cars, 30 yuan per car, no time limit. But I think we didn't park at the official Wugongshi parking lot. Anyway, there were too many cars there, so there were people directing us to park wherever they were directed.

It was written everywhere in the ticket hall that you don't have to queue up if you buy tickets with WeChat. There were a lot of QR codes, so I used my dad's WeChat to buy the boat ticket. However, the ticket window for WeChat and paper tickets were separated, and there were more people queuing for WeChat tickets. When we wanted to buy tickets with WeChat, this function written by WeChat was not activated. Then I found the QR code for buying tickets on the boat, and I could get a 10 yuan discount for the first purchase. It cost 470 yuan for 3 people (160 yuan per person). I didn't receive the QR code until I got off the boat, and I didn't receive the QR code when I arrived at the gate. The delivery was extremely slow. However, after getting off the boat, there was no need to queue up to buy tickets at the gate of the scenic area. My dad went to the window to buy another ticket and went in. Later, the QR code was sent over, but it didn't work, so I refunded the money.

Our family is a pure tourist, we don't burn incense or worship Buddha. So generally speaking, there is no need to go to Putuo Mountain. It's a bit awkward to be surrounded by people burning incense...

The tourist bus in the scenic area costs about 5 yuan per person for a short distance and 10 yuan per person for a long distance. There are signs at each stop. Just queue up at the corresponding location. The ticket price is written on the sign. I couldn't find a map in the scenic area, so I used the scenic area map I saw on the Internet before. I had a rough impression in my mind and walked around a few attractions. I only went to the Fanyin Cave. As a tourist, Zizhulin is barely okay. I went to Nanhai Guanyin because it is very big and famous.

I don't know if it's because there are too many people or because the ticket selling system has been cancelled. I heard before that the scenic spots in the scenic area will sell tickets separately, such as the Nanhai Guanyin and the three large temples will sell tickets again, but there was no such thing when we went there.

We also went to the Xitian Scenic Area, but it was really boring. It was just climbing mountains, walking, and there were a few magical stones to look at, but only the Pantuo Stone was okay.

Putuo Mountain covers an area of ​​nearly 13 square kilometers. If you want to have fun, stay in Putuo Mountain for 2-3 days and walk around. Many landscapes cannot be seen by car. It is recommended to stay near Meichen Road (near Guanyin Cave). I went there on the second day of the Chinese New Year. The daily passenger flow exceeded 120,000. It is recommended to go there in spring and summer and avoid holidays.
