It is said that the Three Plates Tail got its name because its shape resembles three plates floating on the sea. Even without aerial photos, it looks like a plate.

We followed the crowds in the darkness to the sunrise viewing area, where we waited for the sun to rise. There's no single ideal spot for sunrise viewing in Sanpanwei, but any open space is suitable. Due to the heavy cloud cover that day, we didn't see the sun rise above the sea level; we only saw the golden edges of the clouds touching the sea, outlined by the sun's rays.

This is the essence of the island, but the transportation here is still very inconvenient!

Rocks, sea, and vegetation combine to create a natural Sanpanwei landscape! Sitting on the natural lawn, feeling the sea breeze and listening to the waves, everything is wonderful!

I only remember getting on the chartered car we had arranged the day before before daybreak and arriving at the entrance in about 20 minutes. Due to the weather, I didn’t see the sunrise and was blown by the wind. I waited like an idiot for a long time. The only thing was that there was no one else on the whole mountain, so it was like they had it all to themselves 🙂

When you come back, you can take a close look at the blue sea, boulders, bunkers, and fishing villages along the coastal path. When you pass by several small shops run by nearby fishermen, you can buy some colorful shells to take back. The price is a little expensive, but it is not available in the tourist shops in the scenic area.

The scenery at sunrise, sunset and night sky is great, and it is the most worthwhile scenic spot to visit in Nanji Island.

By Min |

Sanpanwei is the most worthwhile place to visit and the best place to watch the sunrise. There are rugged rocks in various shapes, natural lawns, natural murals, and a seaside promenade... After watching the sunrise, walk around the seaside promenade, listen to the sound of waves hitting the rocks and the most beautiful sea, and enjoy the fun of the sea!

After the sun sets, enjoy a seafood feast and take a walk on the top of the island to enjoy the breeze. Campers have already set up their tents and chat together. The empty and quiet night and the starry sky ✨✨ are touching 😹, a kind of touching feeling that dominates the entire night sky!

The scenery is really nice, meadow, sea view, sunlight.

The earliest bus leaves at 4:00 AM, and most people arrive at Sanpanwei before 5:00 AM to watch the sunrise. However, sunrises are rare. The tour guide said he'd been there dozens of times, but only saw the sun rise over the sea three times. The natural lawn, monkeys worshipping Guanyin, and the wonderful seaside promenade are worth a visit. There's also a cave hotel there, which costs over 1,000 yuan a night and has a four-person loft room, which is quite affordable at 300 yuan per person.

By chinalake |

The only scenic spot on Nanji Island is the cliff view of the sea, and the natural lawn is very shocking to watch the sunrise.

By jax |

Nanji Island's most beautiful scenery is here, with sunrise at 5:10 a.m. Tour groups often only visit the lawn and the pavilion, but the real highlight is the seaside promenade at the back. The photos you take there will make you look like you're in the Mediterranean, and no one will doubt it. Experience it for yourself.

Sanpanwei, located in the southeastern part of the Nanji Islands, gets its name from its resemblance to three plates floating on the sea. Walking down the steps, we see a fishing boat on the lawn. Aboard sits a figure who made significant contributions to the development of Nanji Island: Wang Lifu. When Wang Lifu first arrived in Nanji in 1913, he inscribed the fifteen characters "In the eleventh month of the Republic of China, Wang Hairan landed by sea" on the stone wall of Sanpanwei in Dasha'ao. He later recruited farmers and workers and deployed boats to escort the island, greatly facilitating transportation. After more than twenty years of hard work, he gradually recruited immigrants, spending tens of thousands of yuan, and the island's population grew to over 10,000, officially becoming Nanji Township. Turning back, on the eastern shore of Sanpanwei, looking from north to south, amidst the regular formations of large and small rocks, stands a massive rock resembling the Guanyin of the South China Sea, its benevolent gaze cast into the distance. On the opposite side, there is a stone in the shape of a monkey bowing with its hands clasped in worship on the standing rock peak. This is the famous Monkey Worshiping Guanyin.

The best place to watch the sunrise, walk around the island and see the collision of sea water and rocks, it is another kind of beauty.

By Pleasant |

I went to watch the sunrise very early in the morning, but was disappointed, there was still some light.

By February classmates |

The beauty of the Sanpanwei grassland is beyond my expectation, with a wide view. The water of Nanji Island is very blue, and the island is not commercialized, so there are not many people. It is great to watch the sea and feel the sea breeze at Sanpanwei, and of course it is also very suitable for taking photos.

By Miaojia Ajiu |

The sunrise at Sanpanwei is a must-see place, and the attractions are densely packed. The visit takes more than 2 hours. After watching the sunrise, you will come down to the famous natural lawn where you can pose as much as you want. There are also some ancient anti-Japanese war trails on it. If you walk along them, you will walk around the seaside plank road and there are scenery at every step.

By Diaspora |

Sanpanwei, located at the eastern end of the island, is named after its shape, which resembles three plates floating on the sea. If Dashaao offers the best beach on Nanji Island, then Sanpanwei offers the most beautiful sea views.

We woke up a little after 5:00 AM and waited for the first bus by the roadside. The journey from Dashaao to Sanweipan took about twenty minutes, picking up people along the way. It was still dark when we reached the destination, but the parking lot was already packed with people, who all agreed they'd gotten up early to catch the sunrise. Then, we followed the crowd up the mountain, arriving about ten minutes later at the viewing platform. It was a very small platform, sunken in the middle, and surrounded by stone. The east side faced the sea unobstructed, with cliffs on either side. We were quick walkers, so we snagged a good spot up front. We then ate snacks while waiting for sunrise.

A little after 6 a.m., a hint of morning glow appeared, but the sunrise was nowhere to be seen. Half an hour later, it was already full daylight. Seeing that the sunrise was going to be a waste, I headed to the natural lawn in front to explore. From here, you can see a long ridge extending all the way to the sea. Along the way, there are strange rock formations like Monkey Worshipping Guanyin, Tide Sound Cave, Flying Rock, and Wind-Moving Rock. I blame my own lack of imagination for not seeing the connection between the rocks and the names of the attractions. The natural lawn isn't large, located on a gentle slope between the two peaks, but it's covered in green grass. Visitors lounge on it and take photos, making it a great spot for a rest. Walking from the natural lawn towards the cape leads to the seaside boardwalk. This wooden plank path stretches in all directions, sunken into the ground, making walking along it feel like guerrilla warfare.

On the way back, we walked along the narrow path along the sea, admiring the blue sea, huge rocks and fishing villages. The long coastline was lined with strange rocks. I opened my arms and roared a few times.

At the end of the third round, we need to take the shuttle bus to Nanji Island. This is the last stop of our trip to Nanji Island. It can be said to be the biggest highlight of Nanji Island tourism. The meadows and the sea line are very beautiful. It's a pity that we didn't spend more time there. The whole way was walking on the trenches built to defend against foreign enemies. It felt like traveling through time. It was also very nice to walk to the stone stalls below and feel the impact of the waves.

By A dog photographed every time I travel |

Sanpanwei is located on the eastern end of the island, about twenty minutes from Dasha'ao. Most people go there in the morning to see the sunrise, and the scenery is mostly rocky cliffs and shrubby lawns. We boarded the bus at 5:15, and it was still dark when we arrived at the bus stop. We followed the crowd up the hill, a dazed walk of about ten minutes, to the sunrise spot, a cliff jutting out over the water, facing east with unobstructed views. The sunrise spot is a small natural lawn, barely resembling a New Zealand meadow. The strange rocks have been given some far-fetched names that suggest a sense of immortality. The plank road leads in all directions, and from the natural lawn to the cape, you reach the coastal boardwalk, which circles the cape. This section of the hike is quite enjoyable, but the July heat is quite dissipating. The sun is scorching, and there's not a breath of wind. We were sweating profusely, and it was impossible to enjoy the sea view.

The sunrise is great and the scenery is beautiful. The most recommended thing is to watch the sunrise here.

By keena |

The lawn at the end of the three-pan road is worth seeing. With the sea as the background, it is pure and beautiful.

By nini620 |

Don't expect too much from the public services on the island, after all, it's a very remote island. But the scenery here is beautiful, but also a bit dangerous.

By Sunny day little G♊︎ |

In addition to being a great place to watch the sunrise, the scenery in the scenic area is also great and lifelike.

By Meow Komori-kun |

There is a huge artificial lawn on the hillside, and the view of the sea in the distance is also quite nice. Children will probably be very happy to see such a lawn.

By Natto Ze |

Walking on a large meadow, you can see the endless sea. It’s beautiful!

By Yuner |

You can watch the sunrise at sea, but you need to book a bus in advance at night.

By yy |

The end of the three-pan tail is definitely a visual enjoyment. Watching the sunrise in the early morning, breathing the fresh air in the morning, feeling the sea breeze, listening to the sound of the waves, looking at the stones full of stories, imagining the future and imagining a better future, life is so comfortable!

The scenery is pretty good. I climbed and walked with my girlfriend and a passerby. Due to the season and weather, I didn't stay too long. It was a good trip with the right people.

By ELEVEN |

I was so tired from walking, and it was hot. There was nothing but stones and grass, but it was okay to walk for a while.

By Xia Yichuan |

The wind is very strong here, and it feels like the seaside. It is the most worth visiting among all the islands in Wenzhou. At least I was very satisfied when I went there, but the speedboat ride is a bit expensive...

By Little green fruit chat |

The scenery is beautiful, especially the seaside promenade, but it's a pity that I didn't go to see the sunrise.

By On the road, meet |

One of the most beautiful scenery on Nanji Island, you can listen to the sound of waves hitting the rocks, watch the tides rise and fall, watch the sunrise over the sea, and see a rare large grassland and various sea erosion landscapes.

By Xunmu |

It's great to take a walk after watching the sunrise!!!

By Yayayayaya |

If you go to Nanji Island, you must go to Sanpanwei to watch the sunrise. The most impressive thing about it is the beach. After sunrise, I walked around Sanpanwei and walked back to the beach from the other side. It seems like this. I have been there for a long time and have almost forgotten it.

By Uncle Chong |

Sanpanwei is essentially a corner of the island, mostly covered by dense forest. Trenches built by the Nationalist army snake through the dense forest. These fortifications are sturdy, and decades later, the stone walls remain perfectly formed. Where there are no trees, there are mostly huge rocks. The scenic area has given them names based on their pictographic appearance. On the path from the observation deck to the Baijing Pavilion, there's a meadow stretching over ten acres, simply called "Big Lawn," a rather unjustified name. Sanpanwei, with nothing but strange rocks and dense forest, is a truly astonishing natural meadow. Despite the daily trampling of countless people, it hasn't eroded a path, nor has it grown wildly like the surrounding weeds. From a distance, the lawn appears smooth and clean, and visitors flock to take photos. At the top of the lawn stands a square pavilion called the Baijing Pavilion, the highest point in the area. From here, one can take in the panoramic views.

By Bone fish |

Sanpanwei is the best place on the lawn, suitable for watching the sunrise

By Durian and Mango Music |

I went to see the sunrise over the sea early in the morning, which was great. However, the next few times I went there, I felt that there were more tourists and more small vendors, so it was not as good as the first time I went there.

By lulukim |

Nanji Island is a beautiful but very poor island with very poor accommodation conditions. However, the scenery is beautiful. It is recommended to go there and back on the same day!

By Sissi dances on film |

The island's more mature scenic areas have trenches that reflect the characteristics of Nanji Island and enrich the tourist experience. In addition, the beautiful flowers planted on both sides of the trail are quite touching. However, the whole trip was rushed, with few stops and experiences, and no special shopping.

By Mu Yi Qing Feng |

It's the perfect spot to watch the sunrise on the island. It boasts scenic spots like the Husband-Wanting Rock, the large lawn, the Flying Rock, and the trench, creating a truly pristine island landscape. With the ocean at your back, you'll realize how insignificant we are as individuals; facing it, you'll find a thrilling, refreshing feeling.

By Tintin |

I went there early in the morning to take pictures of the sunrise. It is a bay peninsula with three sides of the sea. There are few shops, so it is suitable for daydreaming.

By Hot Mom |

Sanpanwei, with its vast lawns and exposed rocks, is a great spot for watching the sunrise. The scenery at Sanpanwei is truly breathtaking, with the green lawn as smooth as velvet and the white rocks like scattered pearls. Children can camp on the lawn and climb up to Sanpanwei early the next morning to watch the sunrise over the sea. The sun gradually rises from the horizon, creating a magnificent spectacle that will captivate even the youngest child.

By Big P |

The last star is reserved for regrets: I woke up at 3:30, took the bus at 4:20, and didn't see the sunrise from the top of the mountain at 4:50. I only had a boat back to the dock at around 8:00 that day. I quickly wandered around the lawn. I'll go back in two days to make up for it!

By Fruit_Echo |

Sanpanwei is an unexpected place, full of surprises! Only when you get there will you realize how beautiful grassy slopes can be, especially those on the seaside and hillside! But don't forget what I emphasized earlier: always bring insect repellent with you when you visit the grassy areas. Apply it to your bare legs beforehand! It's even more important than sunscreen!

By Walking in the clouds on Earth |

You have to go early, the earlier the better, otherwise you will be sunburned badly, just like us, we left the scenic area at around 10 o'clock and were already the last group of people

By God Bless |

You can't drive on the island. There are basically no service points or people selling things when you enter the scenic area. It is very well preserved. However, there are two points to note: the way in and the way out are different, each with its own scenery, so don't go back the same way! Otherwise, you will lose a lot. When you leave, take the scenic area exit, and the scenery along the way is all about the seaside reefs. This scenic area is closed after 12 noon, so unless you want to walk for several hours back to the hotel, you should go there in the morning and play for several hours before leaving at 12 o'clock.

By The cat's dream wakes up |

There are many small attractions here, and at the foot of the mountain, there are many souvenir shops. Walking down the stone steps, I was greeted by a vast expanse of rocks that reminded me of the cold and solemn reef where the heroine fell into the sea in "The Twilight Saga." When we were so proud, we forgot that the shuttle bus to the end of the third day was at 12:00 PM. We stayed in the pavilion, enjoying the breeze until 12:00 PM, and then wandered around the pavilion. We were ready to leave the mountain around 1:00 PM. At that time, I was a little surprised that I didn't see anyone, and I was deeply impressed by the tranquility of the island.

When visiting Nanji Island, you must visit Sanpanwei, where it is the best place to watch the sunrise.

By Walking Jiezi |

There are only two places to go on Nanji Island, one is Dashaao and the other is Sanpanwei. The wooden plank road feels very good. It is a very pleasant place to lie on the meadow, blow the sea breeze and smell the grass fragrance.

By Beach sand |

It was my first real hiking experience and my first close contact with the sea. When the big waves hit me, I was filled with awe of the sea. It was the best outdoor experience in my memory.

By Nanji indigenous people |

Sanpanwei has the most classic scenery of Nanji, with rugged reefs, mountains and seas interlaced, and the magic of nature is fully displayed here.

Sanpanwei, with its unique mountains and rocks, takes you to the end of the world, the best place to watch the sunrise over the sea. . . . . . .

By Light eyebrows slightly furrowed |

One of the few scenic spots on Nanji Island, after climbing up, you can overlook the coast with a very broad view. It seems that you can also see a mirage, which is quite shocking.

By Tucao God |

Watching the sunrise on the last day of my trip felt like a rebirth after an escape. Escape is a haven in life where we can release stress, but we must ultimately face challenges and regain our spirits, just like the gray-haired grandfather, still strong and vigorous in his old age! As the sun's rays gradually warmed and the sky brightened, the beautiful grasslands of Sanpanwei unfolded before us. The beauty of the grasslands is indisputably comparable to those found in foreign island towns. Quiet stone paths flowed gracefully into the distance, and only the distant Chinese-style pavilion reminded us that we were on a small island in the Zhejiang region of China.

By bird with broken wings |

Sanpanwei on Nanji Island is full of strange rocks and typical bay and fjord scenery. I have been there many times for work. It is a great place for photography.

By biscuit |

The first time I went out with the club was here. My husband and I took advantage of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday to come here. The most vivid memory was that I played with a puppy and ended up getting 50 flea bites on my calves. It itched for 3 months.

By Daidai |

The weather was not good, so we didn’t get to see the sunrise. However, my friends and I still had a great time. We didn’t even finish the Sanpanwei trail and had to rush back to catch the boat at noon.

By Ovaltine |

The direction of Sanpanwei is Taiwan, a great place to watch the sunrise. The first bus to the scenic area is at 4:30. The sea water is so blue... There is also a large lawn for playing...

By P2 Sauce |

Sadly, we woke up at 3:30 am, took the 4:20 am bus, and arrived at the summit at 4:50 am to wait for sunrise. However, at 5:40 pm, the sun was still obscured by clouds... The local guide said it would rise around 5:30 pm, but that wasn't guaranteed. We waited until that point, though it wasn't certain. Because the boat was at 8:20 pm, we briefly explored the area before taking the bus back to pack. It was a real pity, but I'll go back next time!

By Lift the pot and pour |

One of the two famous scenic spots in Nanji, there is a large natural lawn which is quite nice, but many tourists who littered were also found in the scenic area.

By Jennie |

It's okay for people who go on weekends. It was cloudy and sunny that day. The scenery was very good, the sea and the sky were one line. There was only an island entrance fee, no entrance fee. The ticket was for the whole island bus, which could be used once between several attractions.

By Gibbon |

I won't go into detail about the last three trains, but I'll just remind you that the latest bus to leave is at 9:30, but you'll still have to wait if you leave early. So it's best to be at the gate at 9:10, and then wait for 5 or 6 minutes before leaving.

Nanji Mountain extends southeastward to the Tou Island, Eryu Island, and Sanyu Island. These islands are categorized by their height, forming the Toupan, Erpan, and Sanpan Islands, extending all the way to the southeastern end of Nanji Island. This is where the name Sanpanwei comes from. It is the best spot for viewing the seascape in Nanji Island. Enjoying the scenery here offers a variety of unique experiences in all seasons, rain or shine, day or night.

By Wandering Rice |

The scenery at Sanpanwei is beautiful, but the photos we took were full of people, so I won't post them. It'll also be a nice reminder for those who didn't go. Incidentally, the shredded squid and dried fish fillets on the island are excellent, only 5 yuan a bag, though you can bargain and get the price down. I was so bored I negotiated a three-pack for 10 yuan, but everyone was already full and didn't buy any more. Oh, I was deeply hurt by the man selling the shredded squid...

By Beauty Notes |

Watching the sunrise at the end of the third month really depends on luck... I followed the crowd into Wanjing Garden... It's great to have a mobile phone with a flashlight function. If you don't have this function, remember to bring a flashlight. It's easier to walk on the mountain road with a flashlight when watching the sunrise in the morning... We also got a free tour guide and followed a loudspeaker group...

The clouds were so thick that I couldn't see the sunrise. It was already past 5 o'clock and there were signs of rain. Oh my god.

By _ Macarella |

We arrived at Sanpanwei around 8:00. The fog was quite thick that day, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see much of the scenery. However, the fog gradually dissipated.

There is no big lawn at the end of the third pan, but there are many big rocks in various shapes,,,

When I was at Sanpanwei, I had to mention the insects there. They were tiny black insects that could bite you all over even if you were walking. So when you go there, you must wear long clothes and long pants, or bring mosquito repellent! Otherwise, you will end up like me, allergic to insect bites.

By wish light |

On the third day, I wanted to go to Sanpanwei to watch the sunrise, but the weather was not good. As expected, it was foggy early in the morning. I was secretly glad that I didn’t get up at 4:30 to watch the sunrise. The bus to Sanpanwei can really be compared to a "roller coaster". The three consecutive sharp turns are nothing. The bus drivers here are no less skilled than FI drivers. Look at this drift... After arriving at Sanpanwei, we asked an islander uncle to be our guide. The tour guide gave a relatively detailed introduction, and basically mentioned everything that should be introduced.

By Oxygen Travel |

A 30-minute drive brought us to Sanpanwei. We began admiring the sunrise. Unfortunately, the clouds were thick, so we couldn't see the sun rising from the sea. While I didn't get to see a satisfying sunrise, the joy wasn't lost. We still had our source of happiness, and even while waiting, we could still be high.

I've been taking photos at Sanpanwei. The scenery is really beautiful! Natural scenery needs no embellishment.

By KaTsuki_Natsuo |

Standing on Sanpanwei and looking down, you can see the sea on three sides. There are many beautiful flowers blooming on Sanpanwei, and the colors are very beautiful.

By financial |

However, the view of the ocean from Sanpanwei is quite nice. When the sun is shining, the sea is absolutely stunning. Sanpanwei is also the best spot for watching the sunrise. There's a natural lawn at the top of the mountain, which wasn't as good as I expected, but still okay. I didn't go any higher, partly because the minibus was about to leave, and partly because I was too lazy to walk. Haha, but the view of the ocean and sunrise from Sanpanwei is definitely okay.

By Night Star |

This morning, we headed to Sanpanwei, the other end of the island. I recommend wearing walking shoes instead of flip-flops, as this will be quite tiring. The trail is quite long, and a long section is along the coastline, on large rocks. Don't let the wrong shoes ruin your day. Remember to bring a bottle of water; you're bound to get thirsty on the way!

Once you've arrived at the attraction, it's time to head out. Of course, if you're curious about the area, you can hire a guide at the entrance for just 100 taels. They'll walk you all the way to the natural lawn and explain the various rock formations, making it a good deal. If you just want to take photos and relax, there's no need for that! Sanpanwei will definitely not disappoint! The scenery is stunning!

By Feng Yicheng🍊 |

You need to be patient to watch the sunrise at the end of Sanpan.

All good things are worth waiting for.

Tips: It's very cold in the morning, so remember to bring a coat. It's still dark, so you need to bring a small flashlight. But many people along the way are holding flashlights, especially those who are kind like me, who will light up others. O(∩_∩)O
