This is definitely the place you must visit in Shaoxing. Lu Xun's hometown has a lot of cultural heritage. Everyone's physical and mental feelings may be different, but you must go there. From Sanwei Bookstore to Baicao Garden, you can take a small wooden boat to Shen's Home at the small pier. Shen Garden is famous for Lu You's love story, so it's nice to take a look!

What I can’t get used to is the local flavor which is not spicy at all. They said that they don’t eat spicy food 😂Okay!

Lu Xun's hometown is the hometown where Mr. Lu Xun lived in his youth. It is a well-preserved historical district in Shaoxing City with cultural connotations and classic water city style. On both sides of a narrow bluestone slab, there are white walls and black tiles, bamboo doors, lattice wooden windows, and authentic Sanwei Bookstore, Baicao Garden, Lu Xun's former residence, Zhoujia Xintaimen, Xianheng Hotel and other relics written by Lu Xun. Now Lu Xun's hometown has become a historical district with unique Jiangnan style, ancient city and culture. It has become a real place to interpret Lu Xun's works authentically, appreciate the scenery written by Lu Xun, and feel the living situation of Lu Xun in three dimensions. It has become the "treasure of the town" of Shaoxing.

As soon as I got off the bus, I saw a classic half-length portrait of Lu Xun holding a cigarette on a wall from a distance. This is the logo of the Lu Xun Hometown Scenic Area.

I have been to Lu Xun's hometown twice. It is pretty good, but a little more commercial. Middle-aged people still have some interest in going there. For example, they will go to Baicao Garden and Sanwei Bookstore. Of course, the Baicao Garden in reality is completely different from the imagined one, which is normal. Lu Xun's ancestral home and the stage are well preserved. There should be a wintersweet tree. The staff said that the tree was there when Lu Xun was there. It's great.

Located on Luxun Middle Road in the urban area of Shaoxing, it is a historical district with unique Jiangnan style. On both sides of a narrow bluestone road, there are white walls and black tiles, bamboo gates, Lu Xun's ancestral home (Zhou's old gate), Lu Xun's former residence (Zhou's new gate), Baicao Garden, Sanwei Book House, Shou's gate, Tugu Temple, Lu Xun's Characters Garden, Xianheng Hotel, a small river flows in front of Lu Xun's former residence, and black-sailed boats sway on the river. This scene can't help but remind people of some scenes in Lu Xun's works.

Tickets to Lu Xun's hometown are free, but tickets to Shen Garden are charged. It is recommended to buy a Shaoxing combined ticket, which includes all scenic spots in Shaoxing, including Shen Garden, Lu Town, Lanting, etc. Please note that Shen Garden Night is not included in the combined ticket, and student ID cards are not discounted.

The hometown of Lu Xun has now taken shape. It not only reproduces the original appearance of Lu Xun's former residence, ancestral home, Sanwei Book House, and Baicao Garden, but also shows the West Wing of Lu Xun's ancestral home that has never been open to the public, and the recently restored Zhou Family New Gate, Shou Family Gate, Tugu Temple, Lu Xun's Writings Garden and other ancient houses and monuments related to Lu Xun.

Tickets: All visitors can get tickets for free. If you need a tour guide, you need to pay extra. The ticket office at the entrance also sells tickets for Shenyuan Garden, Lanting, East Lake, Kuaiji Mountain and other attractions.

Opening hours: 08:20--17:00

Lu Xun's hometown is a free scenic spot, occupying a block on Luxun Middle Road. Although it is already night, Lu Xun's former residence is still open, but you need to scan the QR code at the door to make an appointment before entering.

We have seen Baicao Garden and Sanwei Bookstore in textbooks, and now we can finally see the real versions. I wonder if you think they are the same as you imagined?

What’s more interesting is that there are cultural products related to Lu Xun for sale in Lu Xun’s former residence, which is also quite interesting.

2023.7.18 Another five-star scenic spot is open for free, thumbs up! Because there are a lot of free tourists, such a travel experience is relatively bad, but the scenic spot management is good and the atmosphere of commemorating Mr. Lu Xun is very strong

The first stop of the self-driving trip was the hometown of Lu Xun in Shaoxing, which is a complex of buildings with the style of ancient Jiangnan villages. Lu Xun's ancestral home is called Laotaimen, which was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It is a tall house with a large roof and is very luxurious. Later, the family fell into decline, and the Zhou family's Xintaimen, which is Lu Xun's former residence, became much more shabby. We saw the famous Baicao Garden and Sanwei Book House.

The scenic spots in Lu Xun's hometown are divided into four parts

Lu Xun's ancestral home, with Deshou Hall as its symbol

Lu Xun's former residence, including Baicao Garden

Lu Xun Memorial Hall, display of Lu Xun's life and cultural relics

Sanwei Bookstore, the private school where Lu Xun studied as a child

The above four attractions have entrance ticket gates respectively.

Here we followed a photography team. Of course, learning photography is not so focused on history and literature. The teacher is a very professional photographer who pays attention to the relevance of the picture, and pays attention to lines and geometric shapes. He believes that the composition of photography reflects relevance rather than aesthetics. This may be a school of European expressionism, which is a bit profound for me, but I still study very seriously. I really want to take more artistic photos when traveling.

I used to like bright colors, natural or cultural landscapes, and I took them casually. In fact, they were just travel commemorative photos, but that was not photography. Taking a good photo is not something that can be done overnight. The teacher said that we should develop a pair of "photographic eyes". I took some photos in the courtyard, bedroom, embroidery room, piano room, bathroom and other places in the former residence, focusing on the correlation between lines and pictures, and trying to make the photos more artistic. It's still not good enough, but I'm trying. Traveling makes me love photography, and photography makes me love traveling more.

The Lu Xun Hometown Scenic Area is located in the central area of Shaoxing City (the intersection of Lu Xun Road and Yan'an Road), and includes Lu Xun's ancestral home, Sanwei Bookstore, Lu Xun's former residence, Baicao Garden, Fengqing Garden, Lu Xun Memorial Hall, Xianheng Hotel and other attractions.

By Yanmahu |

There is a paid parking lot in the Luxun theme scenic area, which charges 10 yuan every four hours. The scenic area is free to visit, but you need to register with your ID card to exchange for tickets. The entire scenic area is divided into four parts: Luxun's ancestral home, Luxun's former residence (Baicao Garden), Sanwei Book House, and Luxun Memorial Hall. Each part is independent of each other and requires ticket inspection when entering. Among these parts, the Luxun Memorial Hall left a deeper impression on us. The exhibition hall uses easy-to-understand text and many pictures to introduce Lu Xun's life. The timeline is clear and the content is also very attractive.

By Honest meow |

Overall, I have a good impression of this scenic spot. Although many places have obvious signs of new construction, this is also a compromise for tourism development. What I value more is that the relationship between water and buildings in the area has been well preserved and reproduced. As the Luxun Museum says: The hometown of Luxun in Shaoxing protects and continues the traditional style of the ancient city of Shaoxing, and is built into an ecological "cultural relic forest", which reflects the integrity of the protection of the ancient city of Shaoxing and is hailed as a model for the protection of the former residences of Chinese celebrities. The following pictures record the alleys behind the main street, which can be seen as different from other ancient cities.

By Jam Master |

Lu Xun's Hometown is a 5A-level scenic spot built by Shaoxing City in 2002 at an investment of 1 billion yuan.

Visitors only need to swipe their ID cards to visit the Lu Xun's hometown scenic spot for free, without having to buy tickets. This is probably because the Lu Xun's hometown has a patriotic education effect and is supported by the government!

It is now defined as a pedestrian street and no motor vehicles are allowed to pass through. It is paved with bluestone slabs, and the buildings have white walls and black tiles, bamboo doors, and lattice wooden windows. Sanwei Bookstore, Baicao Garden, Lu Xun's Former Residence, Zhoujiaxintaimen, Xianheng Hotel and other relics written by Lu Xun are interspersed among them. Lu Xun's hometown has now become a historical block with unique Jiangnan style, ancient city and culture. It has become a real place to interpret Lu Xun's works in an authentic way, appreciate the scenery described by Lu Xun, and feel Lu Xun's living situation in three dimensions. It has become Shaoxing's "treasure of the city."

The scenic area has a recommended guided tour route, which is divided into three routes by merging the nearby Shenyuan. The 3-hour route basically covers the attractions I will experience, but I didn't hire a guide, and 3 hours was not enough, so I played for a whole day.

The Lu Xun hometown in Shaoxing is located in the center of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The protection planning area is 51.57 hectares, of which the core protection area is 28.9 hectares. It has been named one of the 100 national patriotism education demonstration bases.

The Lu Xun Hometown Scenic Area is the best-preserved historical district in Shaoxing City with the most cultural connotations and classic style of an ancient water town. Lu Xun was born here on September 25, 1881. While seeing the original Sanwei Bookstore, you can also see the West Wing of Lu Xun's ancestral home that has never been open to the public, the recently restored Zhou Family New Gate, Changqing Temple, Tugu Temple, Jingxiu Temple, Hengji Dang and the relics related to Lu Xun's writings, as well as a number of ancient houses and monuments such as Shou Family Gate and Zhu Family Garden. On both sides of a narrow bluestone road, there are a row of buildings with white walls and black tiles, bamboo gates, and latticed wooden windows, as well as famous shops displaying many Shaoxing local specialties. It is very lively and has become the most Ming and Qing commercial pedestrian street in Shaoxing.

I personally recommend that you find a tour guide when you go to Lu Xun's hometown so that you can better understand those interesting stories.

Lu Xun's former residence is where Lu Xun, a great modern Chinese thinker, revolutionary, and educator, lived during his lifetime.

By Qingshui Tingyin |

There is a BRT bus from Shaoxing North Station that goes directly to Lu Xun's hometown. Walking on the street, it seems like I'm back in my childhood Chinese textbook: Lu Xun's ancestral home, Sanwei Bookstore, Lu Xun Memorial Hall, and Lu Xun's former residence are scattered on both sides of the street.

By Red beans grow in the south |

From Baicao Garden to Sanwei Book House, following the memory of books in my youth, I came here to see the place where Mr. Lu Xun spent his childhood. The fennel beans in Xianheng Hotel, Kong Yiji's stealing and book theft... There are stories, memories and emotions everywhere.

By Choumafengwo |

It's very unique, but there are too many people. There are too many people in each venue, and you have to queue up to enter. Because there are too many people on the Wupeng boat and the water is a bit dirty, I don't have the courage to queue up. After 2 o'clock in the afternoon, it's not crowded to eat, and there are many seats.

Lu Xun's former residence, feel the texts you learned in school and feel the environment in which Lu Xun grew up.

You can enter Lu Xun's place for free by swiping your ID card. Thanks to the great writer. Fortunately, there were not many people when I went there and there was no crowding.

Follow the public account with the QR code and enter the number (there will be a mark on the wall) to get a voice explanation.

Walk forward a hundred meters from Shenyuan Garden to Lu Xun's hometown. (I visited Shaoxing on a business trip 32 years ago and visited Lu Xun's hometown. There were no paintings on the walls at that time.) With great respect for Mr. Lu, I visited it again.

I've been there a long time ago, in our junior high school textbooks.

By Ray Xiaoyi |

I went to this place not to see the scenery, but to admire the great man. By the way, I learned from Mr. Lu Xun how to answer people who ask you why you don’t have a partner.

By Wuning |

I wanted to come here a long time ago, and finally made the trip after many years. The scenic spot does not require tickets, just like West Lake, it is very grand! The price of the porcelain shop inside is also cheap. I bought a small tea bowl for only 15 yuan, which is much more affordable than the East Lake scenic spot. Xun Geer, love you!

By Yuhu Lay Buddhist |

I think most of the people who go here have memories of the story "From Baicao Garden to Sanwei Bookstore" in their youth. As a northerner, only by putting yourself in the shoes of others can you truly understand the stories written by Lu Xun. It is worth experiencing every place!

By Lazy Cat |

Lu Xun's hometown, the scenic spot swipes the ID card to enter, Lu Xun's ancestral home, former residence, Sanwei Bookstore, exhibition hall, Baicao Garden, etc. The ancestral home and Sanwei Bookstore are the restoration of daily furnishings and text introductions. In addition to his life, the exhibition hall also has books that Lu Xun has read and items he has used. Baicao Garden makes me feel the most about Lu Xun's articles. Writers are so amazing, they can use gorgeous words to express people or things that are very ordinary in daily life in an interesting, vivid and fascinating way.

By Martian User |

As the most distinctive scenic spot in Shaoxing, you must visit it when you come to Shaoxing. I strongly recommend taking a Wupeng boat, which is more interesting.

By Cube Bear |

From the Luxun Wall at the easternmost end to the Xianheng Hotel at the westernmost end, there are scenic spots on both sides of the north and south, and you can't stop walking. The entire scenic area is free of charge, just swipe your ID card. When I swiped it for the first time, I suddenly found that the closing time of the scenic area was printed in black on the wall with white words at 9 pm, not 5 pm. This is different from what the guide said! It's also different from the official introduction! I asked the big sister at the entrance of the scenic area, and she said that it is open until 9 pm, but you need to make an appointment after 5 pm. So far, I have not seen this time description in any other channel, nor have I found a reservation place.

Lu Xun's hometown includes Lu Xun's ancestral home, Sanwei Bookstore, Lu Xun's former residence, Baicaoyuan, Lu Xun's Writings Garden (I didn't find this! Or I went in but didn't see the scenic spot), Lu Xun Memorial Hall and other attractions. As soon as you enter the scenic area, you can see a huge guide map and choose your own route. All the supervised attractions can be visited by swiping your ID card.

By Martian User |

It includes famous attractions such as Lu Xun's ancestral home, Lu Xun's former residence, Sanwei Bookstore, Lu Xun Memorial Hall, Baicao Garden, Xianheng Hotel, etc. You can also take a Wupeng boat tour. It is a must-visit when you come to Shaoxing

By The Shallows of Love |

Lu Xun's Former Residence, Baicao Garden and Sanwei Bookstore, it has been more than 20 years since I came again! Everyone still remembers Lu Xun's article, it seems that some paragraphs still need to be memorized. Looking at these preserved old houses, Mr. Lu Xun's sentences will naturally pop up! When I was in junior high school, I came to Lu Xun's Former Residence in Shaoxing for a spring outing. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep the night before. It was my first time to take a green train. It was really interesting to think about it. I remember that Baicao Garden was so big at that time, and the rockery was also so high and big. Why does it seem so small now? ? ? ! ! 1

By Small |

The free attractions are worth visiting for everyone who comes to Shaoxing. Take a look at Baicao Garden, Sanwei Bookstore, etc., and revisit the articles I remember from my school days.

By Find a better self |

A free scenic spot, telling the story of Lu Xun, I have learned this in the textbook. Bring your ID card to enter, a conscientious scenic spot.

By First glance |

When I came to Shaoxing, I went to Brother Xun's house. It was quite big and magnificent. I couldn't bear to take a photo of Brother Xun's Baicao Garden. The important thing is that it's free to visit Brother Xun's house. I went to Shen Garden and felt the tragic love of Lu You. When I was a child, I only knew that he was a patriotic poet. After visiting, I felt that his love was his beginning and end. It was only because his wife Tang Wan had a cousin who was a great writer, Li Qingzhao. She taught her to read more and open her mind. I also went to Grandpa Zhou's ancestral home, a mansion, and a one-hour tour of patriotic education. Shaoxing, a representative of the Jiangnan water town, still retains the original flavor of the alleys in many parts of the city. The houses are old, with blue bricks and black tiles, and the old men are walking around. When you come to Shaoxing to play, you must not just visit the scenic spots. The ancient streets and alleys scattered in the city are where you can feel the ancient Yue culture and the spirit of the Jiangnan water town.

By Ordinary life |

Lu Xun's hometown is a historical district in Shaoxing City, where the literary giant Lu Xun lived as a teenager.

The scenic area has preserved the old buildings of that time, restored the Tugu Temple and Shoujiataimen described by the master, and reproduced scenes from childhood textbooks such as Baicao Garden and Sanwei Book House.

You can also visit the memorial hall of Lu Xun's life and deeds, which has a rich collection of furniture and clothes used by Mr. Lu Xun, his childhood toys, and the shells given to him by Runtu.

If you are impressed by Lu Xun's works, you can also visit the Tugu Temple and Jingxiu Temple mentioned in "The True Story of Ah Q" and the pawnshop "Hengji Pawn" mentioned in "Call to Arms" to experience the real architectural scenes in the works.

This street is not very long, but it has the style of an ancient Jiangnan water town. There are many shops on both sides of the street, and you can try the Shaoxing stinky tofu and dragon's beard candy sold on the street.

It's a free attraction, I just took a quick look around, but it wasn't as good as what was described in the textbooks.

It is an east-west street, where Lu Xun's hometown, ancestral home, Baicao Garden, and Sanwei Bookstore are located. All attractions in Lu Xun's hometown are free to enter and exit with an ID card.

Lu Xun, a literary giant who influenced several generations, Mr. Zhou Shuren. Come here to explore Sanwei Bookstore, Kong Yiji Fennel Beans, Baicao Garden, and Xianglin Sao in the middle school Chinese textbook. Experience the scene of him sitting at a square table in troubled times with a pipe in his left hand and a pen in his right hand, fighting against the old society and evil forces. The backbone of the nation👍

By Zhang15 |

It's worth a visit because you don't need tickets, you only need a second-generation ID card! Kong Yiji's fennel beans have a honey wine flavor that is very delicious and highly recommended. Fermented bean curd also depends on personal taste. The most distinctive thing is Shaoxing's local rice wine with milk tea. You can try it. The place where the great writer Lu Xun lived when he was a child, from Baicao Garden to Sanwei Book House, some of the classic fragments we are familiar with in textbooks can be experienced here.

By Yan Wenxing |

The location is very good and the transportation is convenient to experience the family culture

Coming here to visit is quite a "gritting of teeth" emotion (haha). When I was in school, Lu Xun's articles were the key points and difficult points. Now I finally saw the Baicao Garden, Sanwei Bookstore, kitchen, etc. mentioned in the articles. I feel that Mr. Lu Xun is worthy of being a great writer. Such an ordinary scene can make him write about it with interest...

By Small Match |

It's a nice place to visit around the Dragon Boat Festival. The local characteristics are quite strong. The city is also a good city, but it was a bit hot when I went there. Lu Xun's former residence is still worth a visit.

By Bei Ming |

Today, when I was visiting Lu Xun's hometown, I met a beautiful girl. She was wearing a white dress and holding a parasol. When entering Sanwei Bookstore, I lined up behind her and went in together. In the lobby, she was about to pat the word "early" on the table. I told her that it was carved by someone else and was not Lu Xun's desk. She smiled so beautifully. Then she sat at the main table and asked me to take a photo for her. After taking the photo, I wanted to ask for her contact information, but I didn't have the courage to say it out loud, nor did I have the courage to invite her to visit together, so we visited separately. When I was about to leave after visiting Baicao Garden, I saw her in Baicao Garden. I looked back at her, and she also looked at me... Then I went to the Fengqing Garden written by Lu Xun and sat there for a long time. I thought if she came out, I would ask for her contact information, but due to time constraints, I had to go back to Hangzhou, and unfortunately I didn't wait. . It's not easy to meet someone you fall in love with at first sight. I missed you because of my cowardice. If we are destined, I hope you can see this message. I don't want to have any regrets!

Famous scenic spot in Shaoxing, Lu Xun's hometown. This is a free attraction, parking is 10 yuan. In an area, each exhibition hall needs to swipe the ID card repeatedly to enter. There are many blue bags at the entrance, similar to the introduction of attractions, and they keep coming forward to sell, but we only want to see this one attraction and ignore it.

By China-TravelNote users |

Entering from the west gate, you will find Baicao Garden, Lu Xun's former residence - Lu Xun Memorial Hall - Lu Xun's ancestral home - Sanwei Bookstore. After listening to the explanation for a while, I learned more about Lu Xun's life. The memorial hall is also good.

By Nicole |

The various scenic spots are very concentrated. Although there is a strong commercial atmosphere, the historical relics and cultural atmosphere are still well preserved. The recommended route is to enter through the main gate and first visit Lu Xun's ancestral home - Sanwei Bookstore - Lu Xun Memorial Hall - Lu Xun's former residence (Baicao Garden) - Xianheng Hotel to eat Shaoxing special snacks, and then take a ride to Shen Garden at the opposite Wupeng Boat Wharf. The journey is relatively smooth.

By Walking Leon |

It has to be said that Mr. Lu Xun has had a huge influence on our generation. He is not only the best spokesperson for the countless "famous people said" that we quote when writing essays, but also the "one of the three Zhous" that accounted for our entire youth as the post-90s generation: memorizing Zhou Shuren's texts, listening to Jay Chou's songs, and watching Stephen Chow's movies.

As soon as you step into the park, you can immediately feel the Jiangnan charm, which is full of the unique feelings of a classical water town. On both sides of a narrow bluestone road, there are rows of Shaoxing traditional houses with white walls and black tiles, called "Taimen", such as Lu Xun's ancestral home (Zhou's Old Taimen), Lu Xun's former residence (Zhou's New Taimen), Baicao Garden, Sanwei Bookstore, Tugu Temple, Xianheng Hotel and other old buildings, as well as the ancient canal flowing in front of Lu Xun's former residence and wandering black-sailed boats, which can all be matched in the hometown, making people can't help but imagine the small town scenes described in Lu Xun's works.

As a national patriotic education demonstration base, Lu Xun's hometown does not charge admission. You can enter the various scenic spots by simply swiping your ID card.

However, you will see a ticket center at the entrance of the park, which sells Shaoxing tourist packages. There are two types of packages: one is a combined ticket for 13 attractions for 140 yuan, and the other is a ticket for 13 attractions plus the "Shen Garden Night" Yue Opera performance for 180 yuan. This type of package basically covers all the places to visit in Shaoxing, such as Shen Garden, Lanting, East Lake, Dayu Mausoleum, etc., where the average ticket price is 40 yuan. If you visit all of them, it is quite worthwhile, but if you only go to the three or four most famous attractions, it is not as cost-effective as buying them separately.

First of all, the scenic area is free, which is good. Secondly, parking is reasonable, 10 yuan within four hours. Lu Xun's former residence is quite large, but unfortunately it is a bit run-down. If there were no Lu Xun's articles to help recall, these houses would have become ordinary old houses in those ancient towns.

As the capital of the ancient Yue Kingdom with a history of more than 2,000 years, and the hometown of Shun and Yu, Shaoxing should have many other better attractions. However, there is only one AAAAA attraction in Shaoxing, Lu Xun's hometown, which is really a bit sad. It is also a bit misleading to foreigners.

It's interesting to walk around. See the old architectural style. The place where Lu Xun lived. The Xianheng Hotel and Sanwei Book House where he wrote

The entrance fee to the scenic area is free, and the scenic area is relatively fast to visit, including Shen Garden for an hour and a half. Shen Garden charges an additional fee, and students are free during the day for 40 yuan. I have visited Suzhou Gardens, and Shen Garden is far from it. It is not worth recommending. Lu Xun's former residence is worth a visit.

Maybe you don’t like fennel beans, but you remember Kong Yiji.

Maybe I can't remember the sandy beach, but I remember the young Runtu.

Maybe you are no longer old enough to recite the entire text, but you still remember Mr. Lu Xun’s teachings.

All the attractions are free to visit, remember to bring your ID card. Be sure to review the textbook before visiting, otherwise you will just be looking around. Also remember to buy a combined ticket, which allows you to visit all the attractions at will, and is valid for two days

When you come to Shaoxing, you must visit Lu Xun's hometown, where Lu Xun lived, and the Baicao Garden and Sanwei Bookstore in the textbooks.

The highlight of traveling to Shaoxing is "From Baicao Garden to Sanwei Bookstore", one of the must-learn texts for Chinese students. The understanding of Shaoxing also starts here.

As far as I can remember, Lu Xun's hometown should be Baicao Garden, Sanwei Bookstore, and his ancestral home.

But if you look at the map, there are many other attractions.

18.2 I came here on a non-rest day just after the Spring Festival holiday. I didn't expect it to be so crowded. The liveliness was much higher than I imagined. The scenic spot itself is free and you can enter with your ID card. It introduces Lu Xun's life in detail. The layout of the scenic spots and his works here also evoke memories of my childhood textbooks. The pedestrian street next to the scenic spot is also very lively, and you can taste local snacks such as fennel beans and stinky tofu. At the other end of the scenic spot is the Xianheng Restaurant, which is not only a restaurant but also a tourist attraction for tourists to reminisce.

When I was in junior high school, I was attracted by the plot of Lu Xun and Sanwei Bookstore when I was studying Chinese. I came to see it in person, felt the flavor of the time, and experienced Lu Xun's life, and I felt a lot.
