Wolong Bridge is a single-span stepped stone bridge, 31.46 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 5.5 meters high. With a history spanning hundreds of years, it is also the tallest bridge in Xitang. While seemingly simple, Wolong Bridge exudes grandeur and majesty in this ancient water town. Its deck, constructed from a single, large stone slab, is inscribed with a dragon, its head pointing east and its tail west, a pattern that can still be vaguely discerned today. A couplet on the bridge reads: "Repairing a rugged road for centuries, building a bridge for millions." This couplet derives from the legend of Wolong Bridge's origin.
According to legend, Wolong Bridge was originally a wooden bridge that had fallen into disrepair and was in a state of disrepair. One day, a bamboo craftsman named Zhu, who lived near the bridge, saw a pregnant woman fall into the water and die. He was eager to rebuild it, but lacked the funds. He shaved his head and became a monk, named Guangyuan. He begged for alms for ten years, amassing 3,000 taels of silver and beginning construction. When the silver ran out and stone was still needed, the monk died of a decade-long illness. Construction was about to halt due to a lack of a bridge deck when two immortals arrived in Xitang. Having heard of Xitang's famous dried tofu, they sampled it and were ecstatic. As they were enjoying it, a piece of the tofu fell onto the unfinished Wolong Bridge, forming the bridge deck. Thus, the Wolong Bridge's deck is a single, large piece.

I like this bridge very much, although I don't know if it is the name
The northernmost bridge in Xitang Scenic Area. There are actually many bridges and it is difficult to remember their names, but standing on this bridge you can overlook the panoramic view of Xitang Ancient Town.
There are many bridges in Xitang, and I can’t remember most of them, so I only remember a few larger ones!
It is said to be the tallest stone bridge in Xitang, and there are myths and legends about it.
There are many bridges in Xitang, and it is easy to get confused if you don’t pay attention.
A very beautiful bridge, suitable for taking pictures of the night view
There are so many bridges in Xitang. I don’t know which is the highest, Wolong Bridge or Huanxiu Bridge. There is only one Guangji Bridge in Tangqi, Hangzhou, so there are more here.
Don't miss the night view of the Wupeng boats under the Wolong Bridge

There are so many bridges in Xitang. The Jiangnan water town is so unique. Take a cruise to see the scenery and then become someone else's scenery.
It's OK, there are many different styles of bridges.
Although I don't remember which bridge it was, I still want to give it a thumbs up. The bridges in Xitang are all very good.
Good, it's a bridge with ancient characteristics, but there are too many people
The northernmost bridge in Xitang Scenic Area, standing on it you can overlook the panoramic view of Xitang Ancient Town
This can be said to be an iconic attraction, and everyone wants to take pictures here!
I visited Xitang on a road trip in April 2008. Back then, it was still a relatively newly developed old town, with simple folk customs. In the mornings, the town seemed even more tranquil and elegant. Walking through the narrow bluestone-paved alleys in the rain, the faint fragrance of rapeseed flowers wafting through the damp air, I was deeply intoxicated by this ancient town.
Here are the photos I took at that time. You can see how much it has changed.
One of the three most famous ancient bridges in Xitang Ancient Town. This type of bridge is very common after seeing many traditional Jiangnan ancient towns.
I was impressed by this place because there is a restaurant nearby that is really good and cheap. It is truly a scenic spot with no scams.
It's just an ordinary bridge, there are many similar ones, nothing special.
In fact, if there are few people, it is still good. The early morning is sparkling.
Among the ancient water towns, Wolong Bridge looks simple, but it is also the most majestic. The bridge deck is a large stone slab with a dragon carved on it, with its head facing east and its tail facing west. It can still be vaguely seen today.
Wolong Bridge is in Xitang. It is also a newly built stone arch bridge with signposts under the bridge.
Xitang is not big and you can basically walk around it in an hour, with small bridges and flowing water.
Wolong Bridge was completed in 1719 (the 58th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty). Located at the mouth of the Beizha River, it is a single-arch stone bridge, 31.46 meters long and 4.95 meters wide. The east slope has 32 steps, the west slope has 30 steps, and there are 9 more steps at the south-facing corner of the west abutment. The patrol staff is rectangular, 44 centimeters high, and the balusters are 71 centimeters high with square capitals. The arches are laid in parallel longitudinally, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship. This makes it the tallest bridge in the town.
This bridge is quite wide, but it is the outermost bridge and not very busy.
It's awesome! This is the local customs and habits of a Jiangnan town. I really don't want to leave.

The scenic area is not very big and you can get there by walking around.
We live near Wolong Bridge. Regarding the bridge, I like its reflection more.
Wolong Bridge is the tallest and largest stone arch bridge in Xitang. The bridge deck is wide and arched. The bridge spans the two banks of the river, and one end of the bridge connects to the famous Misty Rain Corridor.
The whole ancient town is not very big, but there are many small alleys.
After all, many of the bridge towns here are just small bridges and flowing water.
The first thing I saw was the Wolong Bridge. No wonder there is a saying in the Jiangnan water town that "there are two bridges in one step". Although I didn't see the misty Jiangnan, the comfort of the small bridges and flowing water is so enviable.
It's a place worth visiting, the scenery is great, recommended!
The iconic building of Xitang, Wolong Bridge is often seen on postcards. I don’t know much about architecture, but I just think it’s very beautiful.
Xitang has the flavor of Jiangnan when it rains, but there are too many people walking around with umbrellas.
It's quite troublesome to go shopping.
Xitang, one of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, is a place where you can stop and walk to experience it.

I don't have any particular experience, and it feels very commercialized, but as a northerner, I can still appreciate the feeling of small bridges, flowing water, and people. The night view is beautiful. Before I went, I thought it would be convenient to stay in the bar street, but when I got there, I realized it's a small place and it's convenient to stay anywhere. Don't stay in the bar street, it's very noisy at night~~~

The local characteristics are very beautiful with the green tiles and red lanterns on the shore.
There are so many bridges in Wuzhen, and each one is different.
It's OK, a quaint town, a little more rustic than Wuzhen.
My hotel is near Wolong Bridge. The terrain in Xitang is a bit complicated, with all kinds of alleys and alleys. I am also a very bad direction finder, so I can only remember that I live next to Wolong Bridge. When I ask others for directions, I ask where Wolong Bridge is. Then when I see the bridge, I know how to get back.
It's okay to go there when there are fewer people. During holidays, it's just a matter of crossing the bridge.
The most beautiful thing about Xitang is the bridge. Whether it is early morning or sunset, standing on the bridge, listening to the gurgling water, watching the pedestrians on the bridge and the scenery under the bridge, it really makes people feel relaxed and happy, and feels very healed. They will instantly forget their worries and want to stay and live here.
Where there is a lot of water, there naturally needs to be a bridge. Although every bridge looks similar, it becomes more interesting when you listen to the stories behind them.
Take a nice bridge and take pictures on it.
It is best to visit many bridges in Xitang when there is no more time, otherwise you will just follow the crowds and not know the difference between these bridges.
A typical Jiangnan water town, similar to Wuzhen
There are so many people! I have to say it three times! I didn't see this bridge during the tourist season and I think it's just average.
The stone bridge is one of the classic symbols of the ancient town. It is nice to look at the scenery and take pictures from it.
There are boatmen sitting under the bridge waiting for business. There is a wine culture museum a little further away.
A famous stone bridge in Xitang Scenic Area, with a history of hundreds of years
How would you rate this bridge in Xitang? If you were to take it all in, it's a very nice bridge! Combined with the waterside scenery on both sides, it's quite nice. From the bridge, you can see the scenery of the Xitang River! It's like drinking wine in the breeze. But there are so many bridges in Xitang, and by comparison, this one is a bit ordinary!
The bridges in Xitang are all of similar style, antique and charming. When there are not many people, it is still very interesting to stand at the bridge head.
Xitang is a place worth visiting. There are many bridges in it. Who can recognize the names of them one by one?
There are so many bridges in Wuzhen, and each one is different.
It's quite high, and you can see far away from here when standing in the middle of the bridge.
Wolong Bridge is another famous stone bridge in Xitang, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the Xitang Ancient Town Scenic Area at No. 258 Nanyuan Road, Xitang Town.
Good good good good good good good good good good
I forgot whether I walked across it or not, because there were so many bridges that I couldn’t remember their names.
There is a bridge, you can go and have a look and play together.
Is the Wolong Bridge named after its shape, which resembles a dragon lying on the water? Or is it related to Zhuge Liang?
It was raining when I was standing on it. Looking at the whole Xitang, I felt like the White Snake standing on the long bridge.
There are of course many bridges in the water towns of Jiangnan, and people have given them many meanings.
Eat, play and look around, there are heads everywhere, the scenery is nice.
That’s great, how can it be so great, it’s really great haha.
The location of Wolong Bridge is a bit remote, but it is still good.
However, every bridge in Xitang is always crowded with people. At first, I didn’t think that I would write a travelogue, and I didn’t remember which bridge it was, but Xitang is so small that I always walk past this place.
Beautiful, very nice environment. Beautiful, very nice environment.
One of the 27 ancient bridges in Xitang Ancient Town, the bridge is exquisitely crafted and has been preserved intact after hundreds of years. It is known as "Crouching Dragon Lingbo, Rainbow Flying Bridge".
