The Shengsi Islands in Zhoushan, a pearl string on the shores of the East China Sea, offer azure waters and blue skies, accompanied by the sounds of fishing boats at dusk. The archipelago offers breathtaking scenery, the sandy beaches of Jihu Lake are fine and soft, and the sunrise over Liujingtan is breathtaking. With its tempting seafood and authentic fishing village charm, this is an island getaway where you can escape the hustle and bustle of life and embrace nature. Every moment is a breathtaking spectacle not to be missed.

I just visited the Shengsi Islands in July! I stayed at a seaside resort homestay! The ocean breeze was so comfortable! I almost vomited from eating so much seafood! The owner was so kind! He prepared a seafood feast for us!

By Hikers who haven't started yet |

Places like these are perfect for a leisurely stroll, savoring the experience. Never rush into a group tour; rushing out is bound to be a disappointing experience. Trust your host, communicate, and get to know them; they often have unexpected surprises up their sleeves. Especially when it comes to dining. I was always worried about getting ripped off when I went, but in the end, I found every meal at my homestay to be incredibly satisfying. Everyone's experience of scenic spots is different, so it's all about personal observation and listening. Online references are often more valuable. I hope everyone finds their own joy here.

Shengsi Islands is currently the only archipelago scenic spot in the country. As the largest archipelago in the Zhoushan Archipelago, it has 404 islands of various sizes.

From Shenjiawan Wharf, there are boats bound for Sijiao on Shengsi Island, as well as other islands in the Shengsi Archipelago. These include 1. Shengshan Island and Gouqi Island (connected by a bridge), 2. Huaniao Island, 3. Dayangshan Island, and 4. Huanglong Island.

There are also boats to other islands from different docks on Sijiao Island, but except for Huanglong Island, which can be visited round-trip on the same day, other islands cannot be visited round-trip on the same day.

Everyone thinks the most beautiful scenery is on islands other than the main island.

We disembarked at the Xiaocaiyuan Wharf on the main island of Sijiao. Please note that you must board different piers to visit different islands in the Shengsi Islands. Don't get them mixed up. 1. Jihu Beach 2. Heshangtao 3. Liujingtan 4. Dabeishan 5. Donghai Cinque Territory 6. Zuoan Highway

During our four days on the main island of Sijiao, we followed our guide to Heshangtao, Liujingtan, and Dabeishan, and went fishing at a fishing village. We also explored Shizhu Village (where we stayed) and Gaochangwan Village, both adjacent to Nanchangtu Beach, on our own, and walked a short distance along the "Left Bank Road." Nanchangtu Beach, located in the central bay on the south side of Shengsi Island, is known as the "Sister Beach" with Jihu Beach. The two beaches are separated only by a hill called Hutou. The beach is 2,750 meters long and 200 meters wide, comprising three adjacent beaches: Nanchangtu, Gaochangwan, and Shizhu. While Nanchangtu's South Beach is a paid beach, guests enjoy free access.

Although the water at Nanchangtu Beach is not blue enough, the beach is clean and soft.

[Heshangtao and Liujingtan] These two attractions are connected.

The Heshangtao Scenic Area is located at the easternmost end of Sijiao on the main island of Shengsi Islands. It is traversed by a wooden plank road carved out of the cliff. Along the wooden plank road, the sea and sky merge into one, facing the vast East China Sea, and the sound of waves is in your ears.

Liujingtan, also known as "Lujintou" in ancient times, means the end of the land. It is the place closest to the East China Sea. It is named after the six deep pools that connect to the sea. The "Liujingtan" scenic area faces the East China Sea directly, making it an ideal place to watch the sunrise.

The viewing platform built for watching the sunrise is very spacious.

At Liujingtan, I heard a story about the pursuit of freedom. About six years ago, a villager stumbled upon a few brown sheep from a foreign region and set them free in the mountains, intending to fatten them up for a New Year's gift. However, after repeated attempts to capture them, they were unsuccessful and had to give up. To address the foreign breed's weakness in climbing, the villagers introduced white, local sheep. Aside from the danger of stray dogs attacking the lambs, the sheep's lives are generally worry-free. Blessings to the freed sheep; this is the power of freedom. If you're interested, come and see these freed sheep, enjoying their leisurely lives.

It is part of the Zhoushan Islands. It is very beautiful and fascinating. Many legends also started from here.

I'm planning to go fishing for sea bass on Shengsi Road during the May Day holiday. I'd like to know the boat owner's contact information. I'd like to charter a boat for sea fishing. If you'd like to share a boat, please contact me.

Shengsi Islands include the main island of Sijiao, as well as several small islands such as Huaniao, Goji Shengshan, and Luhua. These islands, which were once ignored, have now become popular literary and artistic islands. I especially recommend Huaniao.

By O'Connor accompanies his uncle |

From Shanghai, you need to take a bus to Shenjiawan Pier and then take a boat. This is a very rich island with a variety of seafood, beautiful beaches, amazing graffiti, and a magnificent sunrise. In short, if you want to relax and unwind, Shengsi Island is the place to go.

By Dead Leaf Butterfly |

Shengsi, with its tourism industry established over thirty years ago, has experienced its ups and downs over the years. Visitors have shared their complaints, experienced its delicious seafood, and even been delighted by its unique island scenery. I want to say that it has truly remained true to its original aspirations and never lost its youthful charm. This youthful charm is largely due to its inconvenient transportation. Even with the influx of visitors, the number of people visiting the island in a single day is extremely limited. Therefore, every visitor to the island must be tolerant. If there are any inconveniences, they are simply because they are not convenient. This unwavering aspiration is due to the successive changes in the island's government, but what remains constant is the desire for a better future. I'm not an official, simply because this is my hometown, a place I cherish time and again. All my comments reflect my most genuine feelings.

The Shengsi Islands include Shengsi Island and several surrounding islands.

I went to the main island and Gouqi Island (including Shengshan Island).

Overall feeling:

The main island is pretty useless, the sea is yellow, several beaches charge fees, and the mountains have no special features.

Shengshan has its own characteristics. It is the easternmost inhabited island in China. The East Cliff is the first place to see the sunrise over the sea. The sea ranch and the uninhabited village of green houses are almost unique to Goji and Shengshan.

I heard that several other islands were also nice along the way, but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time.

Shengsi is indeed a place that I want to visit again after visiting it! In July, I stumbled into the Shengsi Islands and the main island of Sijiao under the introduction of a friend. The transportation there is quite convenient, and they said that it is even more difficult to get to other small islands, so I stayed in Sijiao for 3 days without any worries. I stayed in a B&B called Yiyuge in Gaochangwan Village. Their houses are nice, all with sea views, and they are newly opened and very clean. The main thing is that the lady boss is very nice and the stay was comfortable. So I am happy to advertise for her here, a B&B that treats guests sincerely. Great! There is a big pot of hydrangea in front of her house, which must have withered by now! I almost forgot, haha. The lady boss’s WeChat is 13867223585.

By Foodie who loves traveling |

If you're visiting Shengsi, I highly recommend the Yiyuge B&B. Located on Gaochang Bay Beach in the Shengsi Archipelago Scenic Area, it comprises two four-story, hotel-style Western-style buildings. Enjoying a prime location, nestled between the mountains and the sea, it offers convenient transportation and an elegant environment. From the balcony, you can take in the breathtaking views of the fishing village and the beach. The charming villa courtyard offers a rare sense of relaxation and comfort. Enjoy the cool, soothing ocean breeze and renowned seafood specialties, allowing you to immerse yourself in the authentic life of a fisherman.

The guesthouse features king-size and family rooms, each with a balcony. The newly renovated rooms are clean and comfortable, offering integrated accommodation and dining. The rooms are fully equipped with cable TV, air conditioning, private bathrooms, and 24-hour hot water. The guesthouse also offers guided tours and can book ferry tickets for reservations made at least three days in advance. Contact us at 13867223585 (WeChat ID: 13867223585). Address: No. 34, Jinwan South Lane, Gaochangwan, Shengsi County (near Nanchangtu Beach).

Every day on the island is poetic and picturesque. How can I describe its beauty in simple words?

By Little yellow hair loves sugar cubes |

The scenery is great, I really like the feeling here, but the prices of meals are generally much higher, but going out is a spending activity, so you should be more open-minded to avoid being ripped off.

As a beach near Shanghai, it's pretty good

By 007 |

Cruise tickets to the Shengsi Islands can be booked online. Booking in advance is essential, especially for weekend trips. Tickets are purchased with your real name, so please bring your ID. Accommodation options abound on the Shengsi Islands, each with its own unique charm. Find something for every taste.

By Chili Pepper |

The sea water is still a little turbid, not the sky blue color you see in the movies. Although there are waves on the sea, I feel a little disappointed. The beach is still very hot, so I have to be prepared to wear sunscreen when going out. The weather is clear and the sun is scorching.

By A boy with his ears pricked up |

The island is indeed very clean, and the surge in tourists has not caused too much trouble. There are many staff and locals who are silently guarding the island. Taxis are a bit more expensive, so it's okay. By the way, there is one more thing I want to clarify. Mobile payment is now very convenient on the island. You can take a taxi, eat, and stay in the hotel. Only the tickets to the attractions must be paid in cash.

By dannysu |

Shengsi is really not fun, the sea water is very gray, and the beach charges 60 yuan per person, which is ridiculous! It is even more expensive during the peak season!

By I have four small canine teeth |

The Shengsi Islands are very small, and there are not many things to do here. It is purely for seeing the scenery and strolling on the beach. It is more suitable for friends with high stress and couples.

By Take a look |

The B&B is cheap and clean. The seafood is especially delicious, completely different from the way it is cooked at home. The environment and air are good. Sister Guo from Tianbei Xiaozhuang is very welcoming. It was a very satisfying trip.

By Life is like summer |

The sea is very blue, the B&B is well developed, and it is suitable for a short stay

By MonKeyLL |

This is a great place to experience the seaside in Shanghai. The island is small, only about 10 kilometers away, and there are many fishermen! The sea view room is very comfortable!

By Little Ma Ge |

I can't even buy a ticket. If I can avoid going, I'd better not go. The sea water quality is not good now. It's turbid.

By Fish Manman. |

I didn't want to go back to the mainland after visiting this island, and I realized that China's waters can be so blue.

By liuweigold |

The beach on the east side is quite clean and nice, but the cost is quite high, so be prepared.

By Noyi |

On this island, except for the small, dirty beach in the Cinque Terre, which is free, everything else costs money to enter. Four grilled cabbage leaves, two strings of kelp, and an eggplant cost 65, and they were terrible... It's overdeveloped, and the entire island is made up of small buildings built by people and converted into hotels... Going fishing costs 300 or 400 yuan, and a few people take a boat for an hour in the sea breeze. We don't even have to fish in the middle, we just sit there in the wind. But if you're lucky, you can still catch a lot, although there's no sense of accomplishment... It's better to just buy these things for 300 or 400 yuan... It costs a lot to find a place to stay and have the owner process them.

By 🐳Old Fish |

You can take the children there to taste seafood and play in the sand, but it's not as good as you imagined.

By Renoir |

Although it is organized by the unit, it is still pretty good. In the summer, you can grab a watermelon and eat it on the island, feeling the cool sea breeze.

By Confused Xiao Yangyang |

I went to Sijiao Island alone for two days. It was rainy, but there were very few tourists.

By MISS丶J |

I highly recommend a restaurant called Shengyu Renjia, which is delicious and affordable.

By Pretty Fat Guy |

Since Shengsi is an archipelago, you should spend more days there to savor it slowly, and it is best to drive yourself.

By Crazy snail |

It's worth visiting. The only regret is that we didn't get to visit Goji Island because of the typhoon. I will definitely come again next time.

By A person as quiet as a chrysanthemum |

It's a place I've always wanted to go, but the transportation is not very convenient. The scenery is nice.

By bajiekeke |

Compared to other islands, Shengsi is not very well developed. There is nothing I would like to recommend as far as attractions are concerned. In my opinion, they are just average. But I still want to recommend it to everyone. Compared to other islands, Shengsi has relatively few people. For example, it is a good place to go for a walk and a look during weekends and short holidays. It is not a place to check in at attractions. It is very relaxing and comfortable. You can sleep until you wake up naturally and ride a donkey along the way, stopping to look around. It is also a good experience. Compared with the hustle and bustle of the city, I like its unique tranquility and comfort.

By Jiang Zuxi |

It was a truly enjoyable trip! The meticulous care provided by Fenglin Haixuan Resort made traveling a truly relaxing experience! The cleanliness of the local area and the friendly island residents made us feel right at home! There are too many beautiful photos to share with everyone!

To avoid the long National Day holiday, my family and I traveled to Shengsi a few days before the holiday. A friend recommended that we stay at Yusao Xiaozhuang in Shengsi. We took the ferry to the island and visited some places we had never been before. It felt like the island was full of scenery.

By Dragon Roar |

There are few boat trips, and you can stay in a hotel or a fishing village. The sea water is a bit turbid.

By Love me, don't deceive me |

The scenery is nice on sunny days, but the surrounding attractions are all sea views and the tickets are not cheap. I don't have the energy to go hiking in hot weather. The pier lacks management and the waiting hall is noisy. I just stayed in a B&B, had some seafood, and walked around the beach.

By Ru Xiangqi |

I recently went to Shengsi with a friend to eat seafood. We stayed at Shengsi Yina Hotel. The room was very clean and the food was good. A lot of seafood was seasonal, such as small yellow croaker, pomfret, croaker, etc. I recommend it. The store phone number and WeChat number are: 158 580 6 2991

I just want to say that this place is not fun at all. The reviews in it are all made by locals to attract customers. The beaches are artificially filled, the sea water is dirty, and they even charge a fee. The local food is also very bad and not tasty at all. It is specifically designed to rip off outsiders. Not to mention the accommodation, it is expensive and not very good. Please consider it carefully. Many reviews are just a template.

The temperature in Shanghai had already broken 30 degrees Celsius by the end of June. I recently visited Shengsi and stayed at the same hotel I stayed at last year—the Shengsi Yina Hotel. It felt very comfortable, with the highest temperature never exceeding 27 degrees Celsius. If you're not afraid of the heat, you can go swimming in the sea. Phone or WeChat: 158 5806 2991

Watching the sunrise, playing on the beach, listening to the waves, feeling the sea breeze, and eating seafood are really a pleasure for both body and mind.

I went there with my dad's colleagues in 2007. It's been ten years, but I still have a deep impression of it. Everything else is good, except that the sea is not blue, but grayish yellow.

Last summer, I saw in the newspaper that there was a small island in the Shengsi Archipelago. The houses in a small village by the sea were densely covered with ivy. The whole view was green. The words "The Wizard of Oz" popped into my mind immediately.

So, after silently planting the seed in my heart for a year, I finally set foot on this island on May Day.

Shengsi Island, with its blue skies and white clouds, offers a tranquil escape from the fast-paced city life, the hustle and bustle of concrete and traffic. If you're tired, either of mediocrity or loneliness, a harbor to dock, an island to rest on, a shoulder to lean on, a small town to live in—this is the happiness you and I desire.

P.S. I stayed at Shengsi Yule Villa during this trip and it was a great experience. If you would like to stay at Yule Villa, please call the owner at 18857062758.

Having lived in the city since childhood, this was my first time experiencing the life of an island fisherman. Walking on the island and watching the fishermen going about their daily work, I felt an inexplicable sense of peace in my heart.
