Zhoushan Taohua Island Scenic Tourist Area

舟山桃花岛风景旅游区

Located in the southeast of Zhoushan Archipelago and adjacent to Qiandao Lake in the north, it is known as the "Botanical Garden on the Sea" due to its rich tourism resources.

It consists of six major scenic areas, but the most eye-catching ones are the strange rocks, some of which look like lions descending the mountain, and some like fairies worshiping Buddha, which are very lifelike.

Zhoushan's Peach Blossom Island, a martial arts wonderland imagined by Jin Yong, is a secluded paradise in reality. Nestled within the lush mountains and forests lies a tale of martial arts legends and romantic tales. Climbing to Peach Blossom Village, gazing deep into the sea and clouds, every step is a scene, every scene imbued with emotion. In spring, the peach blossoms bloom in a dazzling riot of color, captivating the senses. It's like stepping into a fantasy world from a novel, discovering a fleeting memory of the Jianghu.

The beauty of the sea and sky is magnificent, with endless mountains and seas to see.

This place is very beautiful, the so-called peach blossom, don't also apply it to Mr. Jin

I was ripped off at Xingyuan Hotel for dinner. Two people ate for 370 yuan and still felt full. There is no price quoted when ordering dishes. I suggest you ask clearly and don't order if you are not sure.

By Kugimiya |

The scenery is beautiful, but things are expensive. Students are advised to bring their own snacks, and be careful when buying oranges; some are quite sour. The beach is best visited in June or July. The climbs to Anqi Peak and Big Buddha Rock are tiring, but the scenery is worth the trip. The B&B prices are reasonable, but I'd still recommend a hotel or inn. Sleeping in a B&B can give you a rash!

It's just a theme park for The Legend of the Condor Heroes, a completely man-made attraction with no special features. It's suitable for locals to relax, not worth visiting for outsiders.

It feels average! The sea water is turbid,,, each attraction has to charge,,,

National Day self-driving trip from Shanghai to Shenjiamen in eight hours

I originally wanted to go to Dongji Island or Gouqi Island, but the ferry tickets were so hard to book! Accommodation on the islands was also incredibly expensive. So I stayed in Shenjiamen for one night and then went to Taohua Island the next day.

Transportation: Shenjiamen Shidun Wharf - Taohua Island: Additional boats depart every hour and a half during holidays. The ride takes 35 minutes and costs 15/20 yuan (ID card required).

🌟Official account: Ziyoubao, you can book ferry tickets online when traveling to Putuo, but you need to show your ID card

There is a parking lot on the island, and there are minibuses to various attractions, such as the beach, Taohua Village, and The Legend of the Condor Heroes. The fare is about 7 yuan.

1⃣️Taohua Village: I didn't expect it to be a mountain climb, hahaha, it was so tiring. I just climbed along the island, and the attractions inside were not interesting, they were all artificial. Ticket price is 45, half price with student ID

2⃣️Beach: It's a pleasant surprise. The water is very clean, a little blue, and the sand is also very clean. The ticket price is a bit expensive, 58. There is a hotel opposite the beach, a small villa. I saw that the price is acceptable. I will choose to stay in this hotel next time!

Summary: As a spare tire island, it is actually not bad. However, the transportation on the island is not convenient and the public facilities are average. I didn’t go to the town, so I guess it is not very developed.

By The little dragon is so cute |

First, we took a boat to the island. The bus ride was okay, seven or eight yuan per person, and we didn’t see much! Next, we came to Taohua Village. The ticket was 45 yuan per person. After entering, we walked around the area. There were very few people and no staff at all! We finished the tour in less than an hour! Then we took a car to the beach. The beach actually charged a fee. This was the first time I heard of this! The beach cost 58 yuan per person, and the entire beach was fenced off. You need to buy a ticket to go to the beach! I was also drunk! Finally, there were no places to eat. There were only local restaurants. There were no commercial streets or convenient places to eat! I will definitely not come here again! Bye!

I went there during the May Day holiday, on a spontaneous trip with my family and siblings. We drove four cars and left home after 6 PM. We stayed in Fengxian for a night and arrived in Zhoushan the next day. It was cloudy and windy on the beach, making it a bit chilly. Honestly, Taohua Island is quite nice; not too crowded, and the beach is very comfortable. If you have time, you can stay there for a night. I won't comment on the food stalls on the island; they're a far cry from Shenjiamen.

This review is purely a spur-of-the-moment impulse. I've never written a travelogue before, so today's my first foray. My destination was Putuo Mountain, but I decided to visit Taohua Island on a whim on the last day of my trip, so I didn't have any travel guides or anything. We departed early in the morning from Shenjiamen Bus Station and took the 7:20 a.m. boat to the island, which took about 30 minutes. Once on the island, there are minibuses that take us to various attractions. For this trip, we only chose Taohuayu and Anqi Peak. The official ticket price is 45 yuan per person per attraction, but you can buy it cheaper on Taobao. You can also buy tickets on-site via WeChat, which is great for those who don't like carrying cash! Taohuayu is the farthest attraction, and the entire route follows a plank path carved along the coastline, offering ocean views. Aside from the sun being a bit strong and the insects being a bit numerous, it was generally worth the price! From Taohuayu, we took a bus back to Anqi Peak. We didn't climb to the summit, but the round trip is said to take three hours, so if you're not a keen hiker, please consider this carefully! From the Wan'an Temple pagoda, we could overlook the entire coastline, taking in the breathtaking scenery. It was definitely worth the trip! But, I still had to say it wasn't worth the price! The thing that finally compelled me to write something about it was about to happen. It was already 11:30 AM when we emerged from Anqi Peak. Feeling a bit exhausted, my boyfriend and I decided to grab a bite to eat on the island before catching the 1 PM ferry back to Shenjiamen. At the intersection of Anqi Peak, there were many farmhouse restaurants. We asked around and found the seafood prices were reasonable, so we ordered one dish of razor clams, one dish of clams, one dish of two swimming crabs, and a tomato and egg soup. The total came to 130 yuan. While the taste wasn't particularly impressive, it was seafood after all, so we couldn't complain. Unexpectedly, a few tourists from Ningbo arrived later, and the owner quoted different prices when ordering. They spoke in the local dialect, and I could only make out the gist of it. When it came time to pay, I realized every dish had been priced 5 yuan higher. I was immediately upset. 😕 Isn't this bullying outsiders? Why? So, here's a reminder for everyone: firmly resist this rip-off! I can't stress this enough: ask for the price before you eat, and if you encounter a rip-off, don't tolerate it. This is the only way to continuously improve our tourism environment! Well, that's all for now. I hope this tip is helpful! Finally, I wish you all a happy and safe journey!

It's a pit. Don't come here. I came here with friends. It was boring. We went to the beach to swim for a while. There were not many people. The ticket was 50 yuan. The food was expensive. It cost 300 or 400 yuan to eat anywhere. There was no place to eat. The beach required tickets at 8 pm. Tickets were required from 7 am. It seemed that it was privately contracted. What are you doing here if you can't just take a walk? All the attractions are fenced off. It's too damn commercialized. I feel uncomfortable.

By Wuling Sanren |

The original ecological scenery, inconvenient transportation, not many tourists, live in Taohua Village, the enthusiastic proprietress is really a buried public relations genius

By Niuniu is me |

I arrived too late and it was not suitable to go to the island that day. Taohua Island has many cultural attractions, about 3 major attractions, all of which require tickets. The Taohua Island described by Jin Yong is here.

By Y |

Yes, it was Huang Yaoshi's Peach Blossom Island. But... there were no peach blossoms on Peach Blossom Island.

By The eternity of memory |

As soon as you disembark, you'll see numerous buses parked at the pier, taking you to any of the attractions, though the prices are a bit steep. First stop: The Legend of the Condor Heroes Tourist City. Percy, a typical Jin Yong fan, chose to visit The Legend of the Condor Heroes first, originally planning to visit Peach Blossom Valley. The bus ticket cost 8 yuan per person. Any Jin Yong fan would be delighted to see this place. You'll find the Qingyin Cave, where the old naughty boy Zhou Botong mastered the art of fighting with both hands, Lu Chengfeng's Guiyun Manor, Huang Yaoshi's manor where the "Eastern Evil" lived, and the Nandi Temple where Guo Jing accompanied Huang Rong to seek healing from the wounds of Duan Huangye in Dali. You can revisit scenes from the novels one by one and relive the events of the novel. The lake on Peach Blossom Island, where Jin Yong and Huang Yaoshi lived, is quite beautiful, with numerous large goldfish. Huang Rong's Beggar Gang's dog-beating stick... The Legend of the Condor Heroes Tourist City is relatively small, with limited attractions, and can be explored in about two hours. The main purpose is to relive the dream of being a hero! Taohua Island is home to the most picturesque natural scenery, offering both ocean views and mountain climbing opportunities. The rocks on the mountain are numerous, each a unique attraction. Taohua Village, located in the heart of the scenic area, also boasts attractions like the Pharmacist's House, Jingge Residence, and Rong'er Tea House, giving it a distinctly "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" feel.

By Big Hae Walking |

Taohua Island, located in the East China Sea and under the jurisdiction of Putuo District, Zhoushan City, boasts the beautiful scenery of Tu'erling, Huaguoshan, and Taoyuan. Huang Yaoshi, the "Eastern Evil" from Jin Yong's famous novels "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" and "The Return of the Condor Heroes," lived on this island.

By As calm as water |

It is basically a man-made landscape, and it only attracts some people because of the popularity of Jin Yong's novels.

The fourth stop of the graduation trip is also the second to last. It is really beautiful. I really want to go there again. It should be the second island I want to visit besides Weizhou Island.

By soap |

When I went to Zhejiang for my graduation trip from college, I saw the sea for the first time in my life when I came to Zhoushan. Everything was so fresh. Then I took a ferry to Taohua Island, which was also the first time in my life that I went to an island surrounded by the sea. When I got to the island, I went straight to the film and television city. The thing that impressed me most was a gatehouse. The front had an ancient feeling, and the back was actually a telephone booth. I instantly traveled through time. There were not many people coming to this island, much less crowded than the popular Putuo Mountain. A few of us climbed to the top of the mountain and saw a few monks along the way. It was sparsely populated and it felt like the whole world was quiet.

By Life is like summer |

Taohua Island is famous for the filming of The Legend of the Condor Heroes. The peach blossoms are in full bloom in spring and are a great place for tourists to visit.

By Carrie |

It's okay, except that the peach blossoms are actually fake.

By jackyzfy |

I went there by boat from Duntou Pier with my best friend, without any precautions♫♫

The first time, I was a little confused. I didn’t take a taxi or tour bus to the scenic area. My friend and I walked for almost an hour to get to the film and television city.

Needless to say the sea view is beautiful!!!

By 🐳Old Fish |

If you have enough time and are not in a hurry, you can go and have a look.

By Karma |

Sweet and happy. Beautiful memories, memories that will last a lifetime.

By Xia Yanwu |

I had originally planned to go to Dongji Island, but because of the typhoon, I canceled it. I had to go to Taohua Island instead. Although it was past the blooming season for the peach blossoms, it didn't affect its scenery. The only problem was that it was too sunny to climb the mountain in the summer.

By star13 |

I went there just for the name, I'm a fan of Jin Yong, but when I went there at the end of May, there were no peach blossoms. There are four scenic spots on the island, and I basically visited all of them. The beach is still the best, you can catch crabs, eat skewers and eat at food stalls, this is life!

By FuckYeahFloyd |

A rather confusing tourist attraction with extremely inconvenient transportation, requiring only buses. The entire island consists of three main scenic areas, and a walk through each would take an hour. The worst part is that there are no free and open areas (inaccessible due to poor transportation, even a basic beach walk is off the table). All areas require entrance fees, and the scenery within the scenic areas is mediocre. What a bummer.

By Hangzhou Pony |

The ticket to The Legend of the Condor Heroes Film and Television City is 50 yuan. It is recommended not to go there even if you don't have money. It's a waste of time. The scenic spot that can't be shown relies on "The Legend of the Condor Heroes". The beach is OK, the ticket is 58. The boat ride from Shenjiamen to Taohua Island is not bad, 15 yuan per ticket, or you can choose a speedboat ticket for 27

By XYP |

It's really not a worthwhile place. It's obviously a national beach, why do you need a ticket?

By pale |

There are no peach blossoms on Peach Blossom Island, nor is Huang Yaoshi.

This two-day, two-night spontaneous trip was truly profound! The three of us drove from Wuxi to the Zhoushan Islands, a 4.5-hour journey, and stayed at the GreenTree Inn that night. On the first morning, we explored the Dongsha and Nansha beaches, admiring the sand sculptures. That evening, we enjoyed decent seafood at an island food stall for 100 yuan per person. At 9:30 PM, we camped in Dongsha. The next morning, we rushed to Wugong Wharf, but since we missed the trip to Taohua Island (which only departs twice a day), we headed for Shenjiamen Wharf. At 10:30 AM, we boarded the ferry to Taohua Island, and after about 40 minutes, we arrived at the legendary Huang Yaoshi. Our first stop was the Legend of the Condor Heroes Film and Television City, a small, one-hour trip to commemorate the characters from Jin Yong's novels. Our second stop was Angel Peak, where the views were stunning. On a whim, we decided to reach the summit. The climb took us an hour. We planned to descend from the south side, but the winding road on the other side meant we'd have to walk 15 kilometers to the bottom. We quickly called a taxi. For 100 yuan, we were taken to Taohua Island Pier. The driver was such a veteran that he didn't even slow down on the winding mountain road. I almost vomited. We finally arrived at the pier at 4:20 PM, rested briefly, and then took the 5:00 PM ferry. Back in Shenjiamen, we went to my mom's house in the city for dinner (I'm not used to seafood; I prefer Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine). After dinner, we headed to Dongsha for our last camping trip. We stumbled upon a summer camp, so the evening was quite lively. On the third day, we woke up early to watch the sunrise and then went swimming in the sea, but the waves were too big for us to swim. Finally, we gave up our fun and headed back to Xi'an, enjoying the music all the way!

Taohua Island is the territory of Huang Yaoshi in the Legend of the Condor Heroes. The scenery on the island is nice and the sea water is much cleaner than that of Zhujiajian.

By Lotte |

In order to follow the place where the Legend of the Condor Heroes went, there were relatively few tourists. It was really tiring to cross the ocean and travel by car and boat. Finally, I arrived at Peach Blossom Island. The island scenery is very beautiful, quiet and peaceful, as if I had arrived in a paradise. It's a pity that I didn't find the Nine Yin Manual and the Good Pharmacist. It's worth a visit

By Yang Dazhuang |

Three stars for scenery, four stars for service and features. Famous for Jin Yong's "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," the film and television studio is quite ordinary, and the building names and interiors don't quite align with the novel. On the other hand, the natural scenery is quite nice, and you can hike up the mountain to admire the ocean and breathe in the sea breeze. Because the island is uncrowded, it's a rare, secluded retreat.

By Careless |

If you like a less crowded environment, you might as well give it a try. It's only a half-hour flight from Zhoushan, and there's not much to eat on the island.

By Mars User |

The scenery is very nice and the island has complete supporting facilities. It is suitable for couples to go on vacation. I went there with my classmates and hope to find a girl to go with me as soon as possible.

By momo giraffe 🍩 |

I went to Taohua Island quite early~~It was my first time to touch the sea~~

Speaking of Peach Blossom Island, everyone will think of The Legend of the Condor Heroes and its sister work The Return of the Condor Heroes written by Mr. Jin Yong, which are full of childhood memories and endless reverie.

Transportation: Self-driving or boat

Itinerary: Depart from Ningbo - Shenjiamen Wharf - Taohua Island - Shenjiamen - return.

We departed Ningbo at 1:00 PM on Friday and arrived at Shenjiamen Pier half an hour later than scheduled. The car could park at the pier at 3:30 PM. We took the 4:30 PM bus, which was a 45-minute ride. I took a few photos on board.

When you arrive at Taohua Island, you can stay in a B&B near the beach and eat at the B&B. After dinner, you went to the only KTV on the island. After it ended in the early morning, you went to the beach. There was no entrance fee at this time. The night breeze was very comfortable.

We woke up at 4:30 on Saturday morning to watch the sunrise. I recommend going around 5:00. We rested for two hours before getting up at 7:30 to head out to Taohuazhai. The scenery is worth a visit – the ticket is 45 yuan. We returned to the beach at 11:00 for a swim. The beach wasn't particularly special and wasn't crowded.

At 2 o'clock, take a boat back to Shenjiamen Hotel to rest. You can try the themed seafood meal for dinner, then stroll around Shenjiamen at will. Return to Ningbo at noon on Sunday.

By lying Jiajia |

Be sure to bring enough food when you go out. A bag of pickled mustard tubers was sold for 1 yuan half an hour ago, and it became 2.5 yuan half an hour later. Special note: don't order fish, any small one will cost more than 200 yuan.

We took a boat from Duntou Wharf and arrived in about 40 minutes. After getting off at Taohua Island Wharf, there are many buses to our accommodation. The bus cost 7 yuan. We stayed at the Xiaolongnu Inn, which was just average, but the people were very welcoming. If you stay at the Xiaolongnu Inn, it is recommended not to stay on the first floor. There are many farmhouses near the beach. It is a 4-minute walk from the beach. If you go before 8 pm, the fee is 58 yuan per person, and children are half price. There are lavender and verbena inside. The water on the beach is yellow. The bus from our accommodation to Taohuazhai cost 4 yuan, and I forgot how much the ticket to Taohuazhai was. We did not go to the filming location of The Legend of the Condor Heroes. In general, I recommend Dongji Island.

Taohua Island is an outlying island of Zhoushan. You need to take a ferry from Shenjiamen Duntou Wharf. The journey takes 35 minutes and costs 15 yuan per person. Taohuazhai is a place worth recommending. The scenery is great and the view of the mountains and the sea is unique.

Taohua Island, a Zhejiang provincial-level scenic spot, is located between longitude 122°13′ and 122°19′ east and latitude 29°46′ and 29°52′ north, in the southeastern Zhoushan Archipelago of Zhejiang Province. It is the seventh largest island in the archipelago. Taohua Island is 7.8 nautical miles north of Shenjiamen, the seat of the Putuo District government of Zhoushan City. It faces Mount Putuo, known as the "Buddhist Kingdom of Sea and Sky," and Zhujiajian, known as the "Wild Goose Pond," across the harbor. It is 12 kilometers west of Ningbo City, bordered by the Taohuagang International Deepwater Channel to the south and the renowned East China Sea fishing grounds to the east. The island covers an area of 41.7 square kilometers and has a total population of 11,500. Huang Yaoshi, the "Eastern Evil" from Jin Yong's masterpieces "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" and "The Return of the Condor Heroes," lived on this island.

Taohua Island was formerly known as "Baiyun Mountain." During the Qin Dynasty, Anqisheng disobeyed the imperial order and fled south to Taohua Island, where he lived in seclusion, practicing Taoism and alchemy. One day, while drunk, he spilled ink on the rocks, creating peach blossom patterns. Hence, the rocks became known as "Peach Blossom Stone," the mountain as "Peach Blossom Mountain," and the island as "Peach Blossom Island." From the Song Dynasty to the 19th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, Taohua Island belonged to Anqi Township, Changguo County. In the early years of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, Taohua Village was established in Anqi Township. During the Guangxu period, it became Dinghai Anqi Township. During the Republic of China, it was renamed Taohua Township. It has since been established as a district and then merged with other townships, ultimately becoming Taohua Town today.

By Zhang Xiaotuanzi |

It's quite famous, and the local food is pretty good. I just feel like it's a bit overrated, but Taohua Island is just that small. The only thing I particularly care about is the nunnery. When I went there as a kid, it was actually being renovated after filming a TV series, hoping it would become a film studio. I didn't have a good impression then, but it's much better now.

By A Journey of the Soul |

I think of the place where the TV series The Legend of the Condor Heroes was filmed.

By Diaspora |

Sadly, there are no peach blossoms on Peach Blossom Island. Most people, upon hearing the name Peach Blossom Island, often think of the island in The Legend of the Condor Heroes. While that's a popular attraction, and there's even a "Condor Heroes Film Studio," it's sadly lacking the imagined mountain of peach trees, with only a few isolated ones. If you're looking for that "Condor Heroes" vibe, you'll be disappointed. But if that's not the case, and you're simply visiting to experience the island's charm, it can satisfy the average visitor. I think Anqi Mountain is worth a visit, and while Tawan Beach has a fee, it's beautiful. A visit to The Condor Heroes Film Studio is also a good option, and a day trip to Peach Blossom Island should satisfy the average visitor. For Zhoushan residents, a half-hour weekend trip to Peach Blossom Island for a spring outing is quite nice, and it's free for residents from December to February. However, for travelers traveling from other places, short one- or two-day trips to Daishan, Putuo Mountain, and Zhujiajian are recommended. For longer trips to Dongji and Shengsi, a visit to Peach Blossom Island isn't particularly worthwhile.

By Little Happiness |

There were very few boats going to Taohua Island when I went there. I slept in that day and missed the morning boat. It felt so so-so. There were no peach blossoms at that time, and it was summer.

There are no peach blossoms during the Spring Festival, so I don’t recommend going to the scenic spot of The Return of the Condor Heroes.
