Famous for its natural sand and stone landscape, it combines sand, stone, sea, Buddha and other scenery into one, and is known as the hometown of international sand sculpture in China.
Shili Jinsha has the largest group of beaches in East China, consisting of nine beaches.
The Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival is held here every September. The large-scale sand sculptures attract many domestic and foreign tourists to Zhujiajian.
It has been recognized by the International Sand Sculpture Organization as one of the best beaches with the best sand quality, far surpassing the summer resort of Hawaii in all aspects.
There are large black pebbles on the beach, as well as water recreation projects. When the weather is good, you can even take a boat out to sea.

Said to be the most beautiful place in Zhoushan Archipelago, Zhoushan Airport and Zhujiajian are both on a small island.
The water in Zhujiajian is very beautiful, while most of the surrounding water is turbid, like the water of the Yellow River.
Zhoushan|Zhujiajian Scenic Area
The Zhoushan Archipelago, dotted with 1,390 islands, is widely known. Zhujiajian Scenic Area, the core tourist area of the "Putuo Golden Triangle," is also highly sought after. Located 1.35 nautical miles from Putuo Mountain, known as the "Buddhist Kingdom of Sea and Sky," it is a designated National Key Scenic Area. As the fifth largest island in the Zhoushan Archipelago, it is a must-see for Zhoushan coastal tourism and Buddhist prayer trips, and a National 4A-rated scenic spot. Its most notable features include the 6,300-meter-long, nine-person beach stretching across the islands, and the Zhujiajian Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival. The 21st annual festival has already begun, and it's well worth a visit for those interested.
I took the kids to the beach. The water quality was average, but we still had a lot of fun.
Zhujiajian has beautiful scenery and is suitable for family trips. I recommend staying longer, but unfortunately we only had one day in our itinerary. With a baby in tow, our schedule was rather loose.
It's a beautiful beach. Because there are sand sculptures, it is also charged. Because it is a paid beach, it is relatively less crowded and cleaner. It's a very leisurely place~
On this road trip to Putuoshan, we chose to stay here and then go to the island from the pier. This was a great choice, at least for a road trip. After dropping off our luggage, we couldn't wait to head to the beach for some fun. The vast bay was very peaceful and uncrowded. Furthermore, the Lover's Island scenic area is not far away.
It is right next to Zhoushan Island and Putuo Mountain. The scenery is beautiful and there are many famous attractions, such as Nansha, Dongsha, Daqingshan, etc. The B&B is also great.
Zhujiajian is in the photo☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀
The whole island is a sight to behold. We drove around the island and found that all the places close to the sea were fenced off and had to be paid for. I was really disappointed...
Zhujiajian is known as the hometown of international sand sculptures in China. Along the southeastern coast of the island, five golden, satin-like beaches, Dongsha, Nansha, Qiansha, Lisha, and Qingsha, stretch out in a winding path. Each beach is protected by capes, forming its own distinct scene, one after another.
The sand on the beach is still very fine. I just came back from Hainan and I don't think there is much to do. The equipment includes water bikes and motorboats, and there is also a large area for free swimming. If you haven't been to the beach much, you can go there.
How should I put it, the scenery is pretty good, but you have to spend money everywhere, the ticket is 100, and you have to pay for any project after entering.
I woke up early at 4:30 in the morning, hoping for a sunrise at Wushitang. However, thick clouds blocked the sun's face, and I could only see the sky, which was slightly flushed by the rising sun.
Zhujiajian Nansha, the hometown of sand sculptures. The sand is fine and bustling with people. The beach is also great for swimming. I also recommend Baisha Island, a lesser-known island, which can be explored in a day. For a guide, see my travelogue on my homepage. I'm sure you'll be tempted.
The most attractive things about Zhujiajian Island are its beautiful beaches (July, August and September are suitable for swimming) and relatively cheap seafood.
Summer is the best match for the sea~~ Zhujiajian has Nansha beaches that require tickets and Dongsha beaches that do not require tickets. We were in Dongsha during the day and in Nansha in the evening. As for Nansha, you can enter for free in the evening with the room key of the local B&B~~ Nansha mainly has sand sculptures. When we went there, the sand sculpture festival had not started yet~~ Zhujiajian's accommodation price is okay, but the food is relatively expensive, a bit of a rip-off~~~
The beach is relatively clean, there are many people, and there are some water entertainment activities
The traffic was terrible when I went there that day. The scenery was amazing, but the scenery was not the main point. I didn't have high expectations. It was just that I was with friends, so I was still happy.
Daqingshan is very beautiful, the water in Lisha is very clean, and Nansha is also very good.
The sand on Zhujiajian Beach is very fine and feels very comfortable to step on.
It was just the beginning of spring when I went there. Although I could wear short sleeves, it was really cold when the wind blew at the beach. The sand at the beach was not as soft as the sand at the sand sculptures. The waves washed away the soft sand, leaving behind sand shells. If you want to take pictures of people jumping at the beach, you must look carefully. If you accidentally step on it, you will scream.
The scenery is really nice, you can go and experience it.
Zhujiajian is much more beautiful than I imagined. Shenjiamen has seafood stalls, beaches, and Lover's Island, which are all great! The key is that you can drive yourself, unlike other islands where you have to buy boat tickets and rush, which I personally like. I went to Zhujiajian and Taohua Island some time ago. I posted the detailed travel notes on my travel public account, Fingertip Tea, where friends who like to travel can communicate with us.
The people trying to attract customers at the intersection all have vested interests in the shops. The agreed-upon prices are no longer valid once you get to the shops, and the food is truly awful. We agreed on a room for NT$280, but the price went up by NT$100 the next day. Although we settled on NT$280, I was in a bad mood early in the morning. The scenery is actually nice, but the people doing the business are terrible. Their attitudes are terrible! I have no desire to come back.
Because I have seen many seas and made comparisons, I think it is average.
It's a place with nice scenery. I went there once many years ago and it left a good impression. The beach, waves, reefs, and walking along the beach are a good experience.
As the largest beach complex in East China, Zhujiajian has its own unique charm. The sand sculpture festival, beach volleyball, and beach fun all made me addicted.
Climb up Daqing Mountain and overlook Zhujiajian. The scenery here is unique!
Soft sand, cool sea breeze, and the feel of the sea water make it a camping paradise. In summer, there is a special camping site on the beach where you can rent a tent or bring your own. There are people patrolling at night. Camping fee is 20 yuan, but the experience is really good. When you wake up in the morning, you can sit in the tent and listen to the sound of the waves and watch the sunrise. The breeze is cool, but it becomes hot at noon and there are more people. You can go swimming in the sea, but there are special people watching and it is fenced off. You are not allowed to swim far away.
I've been there twice. The first time was to participate in a cross-country race, and the second time was for vacation with my girlfriend. The second time we stayed in a tent. Zhoushan has two good beaches, one is Dongsha and the other is Nansha. Nansha is very crowded and is a more mature seaside bathing beach. Dongsha was free when I first went to participate in the race, but they started to charge admission the second time. Of course, it's free to enter at night. As long as you don't come out, you can play there all the time. There are toilets, showers, and changing rooms inside, so you can go in directly with your tent at night.
A small scenic spot with only a bathing beach, which is not very hygienic. There is nothing fun to do at night, and the food is a bit expensive.
I went there because of its reputation, but returned disappointed. It was meaningless.
The ferry terminal from Zhoushan to Putuoshan has relatively new facilities.
Zhujiajian, a national scenic spot located in the southeastern Zhoushan Archipelago of Zhejiang Province, is a key national scenic spot along with Mount Putuo, the "Buddhist Kingdom of Sea and Sky," 1.35 nautical miles away. Zhujiajian is a key part of the Putuo Golden Triangle, the core tourist area of the Zhoushan Archipelago. As the fifth largest island in the archipelago, it boasts an area of 72 square kilometers. While developing its outstanding scenic beauty, the scenic area also prioritizes the development of tourism culture, making it one of the most vibrant coastal destinations in East China.
Zhujiajian is mainly a sand sculpture exhibition. It is very realistic. But the sky was not good when we went there.
The first time I went to the beach, I felt very special and excited. However, after being to other beaches, I felt that Zhujiajian was not very good. If I went to a small island, it would be nice.
The first time I saw the sea was in Zhoushan. Before I went there, I heard people say that the sea water in Zhoushan was sometimes not clean. I was lucky. The sea water was quite clean on the day I went there. The beach called Nansha is free. You can go and have fun.
It is best to drive to Daqingshan by yourself, the scenery is very beautiful.
There are a lot of bottles and cans of garbage on the beach. The sunrise is pretty good.
After a two-day trip to Ningbo, I suddenly felt like visiting Zhoushan. After much deliberation, I decided on Zhujiajian. With my kids, I couldn't consider the more distant Shengsi and Dongji, hoping they wouldn't disappoint. The entire trip was breathtakingly beautiful with blue skies and white clouds. When I arrived at Zhujiajian Scenic Area, I was hesitant about whether to go to Nansha or Dongsha. Everyone online praised Nansha, but due to my late arrival time, I felt it wasn't worth it. So, I chose Nansha. It was simply stunning! It was beyond my expectations. While the water wasn't as blue as Sanya's, it was still incredibly charming against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds! The kids had a blast, and I felt I had made a great choice!
The real South Beach... was so different from what I imagined! Maybe I went at the wrong time (just after the typhoon), the water was yellow and smelled fishy (imagine a basin of water with leeches for a day). The problem was the waves were so big that swimming was forbidden, so I had to stay on the shore and fight the waves. It was quite fun. If the waves hadn't swept away my glasses and hat, I would have given it a thumbs up. Also, on sunny or cloudy days, don't stay in the sea or sunny areas for too long; an hour or two is enough. Don't ask me why, my whole body was aching from sunburn... Most of the sand sculptures were dismantled, and the remaining ones were ruined by the unsightly protective netting and damage. The forest path was in poor condition and generally in disrepair. It was sad. I wish the latter good luck. July 13, 2016. Selected pictures.
Beach waves, nothing is more comfortable than this.
I went to Zhoushan in April last year, avoiding the May Day peak, and it felt like we had the entire sea to ourselves!
The first bathing beach my son went to was not far from Shanghai.
Maybe it's the wrong time. Going to see the sand sculptures now is so depressing. They're all broken and very plain. Nothing much to see. They even charge an entrance fee, and they don't maintain them properly. I'm so drunk. What are we supposed to see? Just the ocean? Compared to the free beach next door, it's no different. My husband and I walked in for less than half an hour before leaving. Admission was 75 yuan per person. It was heartbreaking. We then found a restaurant next door for dinner. The owner told us that after 5 PM, there's no entrance fee. Oh my goodness! My heart aches! But even if there's no entrance fee, I don't think there's anything to see. If you absolutely must go, I won't stop you; go and experience the heartache. Or I suggest going in after 5 PM, where you can wander around for half an hour for free before it gets dark!
When I went to Zhujiajian, besides seeing the sand sculptures, I took my children to play in the sand. But the beach there is really nice.
The sand sculptures are beautiful. If it is a sunny day, the beach should be beautiful. We went on a rainy day so it was not as beautiful.
Zhujiajian is quite fun, with lots of seafood and sand sculptures. The beach looks nice too.
There are many interesting places worth visiting.
It is more convenient to drive to Zhujiajian, with small bridges and flowing water. I met many friends in the mud couple and finally I am not alone.
The beach at night is completely different from the daytime. At night, tourists are playing in the water and riding the waves, while during the day, they focus on various water sports and entertainment, and there are many sand sculptures.
Zhujiajian Daqingshan Park is nice, with a good environment and few people, making it suitable for self-driving tours.
The sky is blue and the air is fresh, but the sea is yellow. I watched the sunrise at Daqing Mountain, it was stunning!
I only went to the pier and didn't go to other places, so it's hard to comment. The pier is very grand and the environment is good.
Seafood is quite expensive. You can take a taxi to a local restaurant to eat seafood. The steamed hairtail fish is very good.
This may be the best beach in Zhejiang. It doesn’t have the palm trees like in the south, but it is famous for its sand sculptures.
It's a big beach and you can see Lover's Island.
A very beautiful pier, and very spacious

It feels like it's the same every year, a small port with little development. The seafood is more delicious in late November, and the overcharging is serious during the National Day holiday.
Zhujiajian is a national scenic spot located in the southeast of Zhoushan Islands, Zhejiang Province. Together with Putuo Mountain, the "Buddhist Kingdom of Sea and Sky" 1.35 nautical miles away, it is known as the Putuo Mountain National Key Scenic Spot. It is an important part of the "Putuo Golden Triangle", the core tourist area of Zhoushan Islands. It is the fifth largest island in Zhoushan Islands, with an island area of 72 square kilometers.
The tourism environment is not good, and everyone is thinking about ripping off tourists. Even the workers and cleaners are trying to solicit customers.
If it is not the peak season and you come to Zhoushan, I highly recommend you go to Zhujiajian. There are many beautiful sand sculptures, and the hostels here are also pretty good. There is also the beautifully named Lover's Island, where you can stroll around the beach when you have nothing to do. There is also a villa area, which is very upscale.
Zhujiajian, located southeast of the Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province, is one of East China's most vibrant coastal tourist destinations. Combining sand, rock, sea, and Buddhist landscapes, Zhujiajian is an ideal seaside destination for sightseeing, vacation, leisure, and summer retreats.
Daqingshan, an unusual scenic spot, with mountain scenery, sea views, and bathing beaches, has everything you need. The key is that you can drive in by yourself and there are few people.
In the sweet strawberry-scented early autumn of September, away from the computer, out of the office, and a perfect encounter with the beach, islands, and ancient towns, the first stop was to the Zhujiajian Nansha Beach. Not only is the beach here fine, but you can also see many sand sculptures of various shapes on the beach. However, when we went there, it was past the peak of summer vacation, so there were no sand sculptures. There were many sand sculpture tourist souvenirs. You can imagine seeing the endless sea with layers of waves surging under the blue sky. It was all water. The boys in the group immediately bought swimming trunks and stored clothes (storing clothes usually costs 10 yuan, which is convenient for taking a shower after going into the sea). However, the shower water was actually cold, icy cold, and I shivered when the sea breeze blew. I personally feel that it is much better than traveling thousands of miles to the Dalian Golden Coast. The weather was particularly good on the day I went there, so the sea was particularly blue. When the waves came, my feet sank into the soft and chewy sand. In the hot weather, the rows of barbecue stalls outside were no longer attractive to us. The ice cream was the best thing to eat. In fact, there is a place to wash in the free storage room, but it is just a row of faucets, which is relatively simple. Friends who go there should not learn from me. For the sake of beauty, I wore a pair of flip-flops. Flip-flops are more suitable for the sea and the beach~
Overall, Zhujiajian is a very nice scenic spot. Zhujiajian Island boasts several scenic areas, including Nansha, Dongsha, Wushitang, and Daqingshan, offering a wealth of entertainment. The Nansha beach is a must-see.
There are a lot of food stalls in Zhujiajian Town that can meet the needs of different seafood tastes. However, the food in the food stalls is relatively watery, so tourists must check and choose carefully in advance and discuss with the owner to avoid trouble.
You can drive from the main island to Zhujiajian via the cross-sea bridge. From the Wugongzhi Wharf in Zhujiajian, you can take a boat to Putuo Mountain or Shenjiamen Fishing Port, which is very convenient.
The sea is boundless, and my heart is beautiful and peaceful!
I've been there twice, and it's pretty good if you want to find a beach nearby to play.
For children living in inland areas, the sea is completely irresistible. However, I was a little disappointed when I saw the sea in Nansha for the first time. It looked like yellow muddy water... But later I heard from the staff that the sea water was like this because of the typhoon, and the sea water will return to its original color in the next two days.
The most delicious seafood in Zhujiajian this season is swimming crab. If it is September or October, the seafood will be cheaper.
I heard from locals that Zhujiajian doesn’t grow vegetables, and all the vegetables are shipped from Ningbo, so they are so expensive.
Just as the staff had said, the sea's color had gradually returned to a turquoise hue, not the usual Xiamen blue. It had a fresh, beautiful feel. We spent the entire day at the sea—yes, a whole day, hahahahahahahaha. Since we usually don't get the chance, I decided to take advantage of it this time.
The sea where I grew up, my hometown Zhoushan, will always be beautiful and lovely!
We went there on a company trip. We even camped there! A bunch of young people, a bonfire party, so much fun!
This time I came to Zhujiajian and stayed in Dongsha. I personally think that the environment of the farmhouse hotel is very good and the rooms are very clean, but there are too many stones on the beach, which is not very satisfactory. We also went to Wushitang and Impression Putuo, both of which are good!
I personally think the best time to visit Zhujiajian is September. The weather is nice, making it a great time to go fishing, and the seafood is in season, making it delicious and affordable. July and August are a bit more crowded, but it's not too crowded. I also want to remind everyone that if you're not specifically going for the seafood, it's best to visit Zhujiajian on a good day; otherwise, a gray sky and sea will greatly diminish the experience.
Zhujiajian is not big, but there are really a lot of places to visit: Nansha, Dongsha, Wushitang, Xiaowushitang, Ring Road, Buddhist College, Baishan, Daqingshan, Lover's Island, Tea Valley, Putuo Mountain (sorry, I haven't been there once), and various other sands such as Lisha and Qiansha.
If you're visiting Zhujiajian, Nansha, or Dongsha at night, drivers should avoid drinking alcohol, as there are checks on the roads, especially on weekends. Those hoping for cheap seafood in Zhujiajian might be disappointed. Compared to Shanghai, Zhujiajian's seafood is not cheap at all. However, Zhujiajian's seafood is fresher, and the flavor is completely different from Shanghai's, with a fresh, sweeter taste. So, for the same price, you get better-tasting seafood, making it a good deal overall.
Also, while July and August are peak tourist season, they're also Zhujiajian's fishing ban period, so seafood is even more expensive. Much of the seafood is poached and sold on the black market (Zhu Jiaxuan's mom told me), so the high prices are understandable. But in September and October, prices plummet. Crabs are the cheapest at just 20 yuan per pound, and they're all roe-rich. They're incredibly delicious...
Regarding Zhujiajian's local specialties, besides seafood, watermelon is also quite good, which many people may not know. Aunt Tang said that Zhujiajian's soil is fertile, and many watermelons are grown in the sand. Once ripe, they are very delicious. Indeed, every summer when I visit Zhujiajian, watermelon is my favorite.
A friend asked me after seeing the photos why the sea water is yellow and green. This must be the characteristic of Zhujiajian’s sea water: yellow, green, blue, purple, gray, a colorful sea, a camouflage sea.
The water color of Zhujiajian is yellow, the sand is relatively fine, and the surrounding environment is average. It feels not as comfortable as living around Wushitang.
There are many ferries from Zhujiajian Wharf to Putuo Mountain. There is basically no need to wait, and there are many empty seats. We had no experience, so we went directly to the first floor of the cabin after boarding the ship. We found that there were no windows and we could not see the scenery outside. Therefore, if tourists want to see the scenery, they still have to go upstairs.
