Introducing Jingning

Jingning, under the jurisdiction of Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, is a "revolutionary old district county," "China's rural hydropower hometown," and a She ethnic autonomous county. Located in southwestern Zhejiang, in the middle section of the Donggong Mountain Range, it belongs to the middle mountainous region of southern Zhejiang. Jingning is situated in the central mountainous region of southern Zhejiang. The Donggong Mountain Range runs diagonally from southwest to northeast, with towering peaks and nearly 800 peaks over a thousand meters tall. The terrain is complex, with the terrain gradually sloping from southwest to northeast.

The landform is mainly composed of deeply cut mountains. A small stream, a tributary of the Oujiang River, originates from the Donggong Mountains and runs through the entire county from southwest to northeast, dividing the county into two parts, north and south, forming a narrow strip about 124.6 kilometers wide on both sides, constituting the landform pattern of "nine mountains, half water and half farmland" and "two mountains and one water, with many ravines and flowing water".

The She Village Window
Scenic Area is located in Dajun Village, the seat of Dajun Township Government, 13 kilometers from Jingning County. Founded in the late Tang Dynasty and early Five Dynasties period, Dajun Ancient Village has served as a water and land transportation hub in the Xiaoxi River basin, a tributary of the Oujiang River, for over a thousand years. Its commerce flourished, and its emphasis on farming and studying led to the local custom of attaching great importance to the "three poles"—the pen pole, the scale pole, and the bamboo pole (pole). The architecture, with its quaint, front-of-house, back-of-house style and stone-paved streets, reflects the Ming and Qing dynasties' style. The village is known as the "Pearl of Xiaoxi," "Jingning's Highest Institution of Learning," and "Hibiscus Town of Southern Zhejiang."
