Xiamen Garden Expo Park, officially known as Xiamen International Garden Expo Park, was the venue for the 2007 Sixth China (Xiamen) International Garden and Flower Expo, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Construction of the People's Republic of China and the Xiamen Municipal People's Government. Located in Xiamen's Xinglin Bay, it comprises the former Zhongzhou Bay and its surrounding islands, as well as portions of the bay's western and northern coastlines. During construction, artificial channels were excavated to unify Zhongzhou Bay and its surrounding islands into nine islands, interconnected by 16 bridges, creating a "Water Garden Expo Park."

The Garden Expo Park was built according to the style of Chinese classical gardens and combined with modern garden styles to form 10 major garden areas, including the Northern Garden, Jiangnan Garden, Lingnan Garden, Ethnic Culture Garden, International Garden, and Fujian and Taiwan Garden. Each park has its own distinctive characteristics.

The musical fountain, located in the inner lake east of the main exhibition hall, is the largest, most technologically advanced, and most visually stunning musical fountain in South China.
