Introducing Trinity Church

Trinity Church (Christian Church) is located on the picturesque Gulangyu Island at 67 Anhai Road. The main structure of Trinity Church was essentially completed in 1934 (due to various reasons, the renovation of the interior ceiling and the octagonal bell tower on the roof were delayed until the autumn of 1945). In 1935, the new church was named "Trinity Church," symbolizing the joint construction of three churches and embodying the doctrine of the Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Trinity Church boasts a unique architectural style, a rare, three-dimensional cross. Atop its yellow-tiled roof, cascading waterways, stands an octagonal bell tower, its summit atop a cross soaring into the sky. The red walls are adorned with flowing triangular lines, while twelve doors and sixteen expansive windows open on all four sides, providing practical ventilation, lighting, and evacuation. The interior walls, spanning 13 meters in length and width, are ingeniously constructed with a column-free steel arch truss, complemented by a wooden ceiling. This creates a grand and imposing presence, while also providing exceptionally sound-enhancing acoustics, a hallmark of the church's architecture. Its majestic presence is breathtaking from every angle.
