The Xiamen People's Hall, located on the north bank of Yundang Lake and covering an area of ​​10,000 square meters, is a city landmark and one of Xiamen's ten finest buildings. It serves as a center for the people to exercise state power and participate in government and political affairs, a venue for international exchanges and friendly activities, and a hub for cultural and artistic activities for the citizens.

The auditorium features a main venue that can accommodate 1,500 people, with a retractable podium that can be used as a stage. There is also an international conference hall that can accommodate 260 people and features simultaneous interpretation in four languages. There are two VIP meeting rooms, as well as unique meeting rooms named after Xiamen's seven administrative districts, each with its own unique style.

The ground floor of the hall, open on all sides, serves as a shared space for the public. In the mornings, residents enter for morning boxing exercises; during the day, many dance here. The open-air plaza occasionally features singing and dancing performances, and children play and fly kites.
