The Strange Stone Valley Scenic Area is located in the 84th Regiment in the northern mountainous area of ​​Bole City, Xinjiang, covering an area of ​​230 square kilometers. It borders Kazakhstan to the north and is connected to the Mirchik Grassland Scenic Area to the west. It is 26 kilometers northeast of Alashankou and 38 kilometers south of Bole City.

Guaishiyu was originally an ocean floor 230 million years ago, but volcanic eruptions and the accumulation of magma formed granite porphyry. 190 million years ago, crustal movement transformed the area into land. Most areas are exposed rock, some covered with rare Jolly Orange algae. From a distance, the rocks appear to have a unique, radiating pattern of barrel-colored, light green, or bronze patches. The rugged rocks, pictographic and ideographic, are a breathtaking sight.
