Visit the Big Bell Pavilion and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding city and river. Explore the park's lush gardens, historic structures, and walk around the scenic lake. The park offers a peaceful escape perfect for relaxation, photography, and cultural exploration.

Dazhongting Park is located in the heart of Gulou, northeast of Gulou Square, at 1 Dazhongting Road . The park is named after the Dazhongting. The roof beams are intricately carved with auspicious clouds and other images. Strolling through the park, you can see the rich history and experience the charm of Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties.
The Great Bell Pavilion , originally built in 1382 , is listed among the Forty Scenic Spots of Jinling, known as the Ancient Pavilion Morning Bell. Ancient Chinese city walls often featured bell towers to sound alarms. The bell in this pavilion is a relic of the Ming Dynasty.
During the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the early Qing Dynasty, the bell tower collapsed and the bell fell to the ground, leaving one standing and one lying. The standing bell was destroyed during the Chengfeng period of the late Qing Dynasty, while the lying bell was hung in a pavilion built by Xu Zhenshen, the governor of Jiangning, in the 15th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu ( 1889 AD ) . Hence, it was named " Big Bell Pavilion " .
