Introducing Zhanyuan

Zhanyuan Garden is located in the core area of ​​the Qinhuai Scenic Belt of Confucius Temple in Qinhuai District, Nanjing. It is the oldest existing classical garden of the Ming Dynasty in Nanjing and one of the four famous gardens in Jiangnan. Its history can be traced back to the Prince of Wu's Mansion before Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, became emperor. It was later given as the mansion garden of Xu Da, the King of Zhongshan. It is famous for its rockery and was named after Ouyang Xiu's poem "Looking at the Jade Hall, It's as if in Heaven". It was known as "the first garden in Nando" in the Ming Dynasty.

Zhanyuan Garden, covering approximately 20,000 square meters, boasts over 20 scenic spots, both large and small, with an elegant and refined layout. Among them are magnificent Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, steep rockery, renowned Northern Song Dynasty Taihu rocks, elegant pavilions, and breathtaking peaks. Zhanyuan Garden also houses the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Museum, the only dedicated museum dedicated to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in China. The 1987 version of "Dream of the Red Chamber" and Zhao Yazhi's version of "The Legend of White Snake" were filmed in Zhanyuan Garden.

Fan Pavilion

Immortal Peak

Xianren Peak is a piece of jade-like Taihu stone standing in the garden behind the south gate. Xianren Peak is the representative of the famous stones in Zhanyuan. Other strange stones in Zhanyuan include Diyun Peak, Yousong Stone, Bu Shi, Zha Shi, etc. They are treasures of Jiangnan garden rocks, and some are relics of Song Huizong's Hua Shi Gang.

Jingmiao Hall

Built in the Ming Dynasty, Jingmiao Hall is a three-bay, gabled building with a front porch. Its eaves are 3.82 meters high and its floor area is 195.75 square meters. The interior is divided into two mandarin duck halls, north and south, by partitions. Small windows are located on the east and west gables, and floor-to-ceiling partition doors are located on the north and south sides. A moon-shaped platform and a sitting railing to the south of the hall offer panoramic views of the fish swimming in the pond and the southern rockery, providing a panoramic view of the West Zhanyuan Garden.
