Introducing Baochuanchang Ruins

Located on the 600-year-old site of the Longjiang Treasure Shipyard, the park is a large-scale heritage park developed by Nanjing City to commemorate the 600th anniversary of Zheng He's voyages to the West. It integrates tourism, commemoration, exhibitions, and leisure activities. The scenic area currently houses a medium-sized treasure ship from Zheng He's fleet, a large wooden vessel designed and built to a 1:1 scale, recreating the fleet's appearance and offering a chance for close inspection.

Six hundred years ago, this area, crisscrossed by rivers and covered with reeds, boasted a vast terrain and direct access to the Yangtze River. It was later chosen for the construction of the Treasure Ship Yard. The Yard covered over 1,000 mu (approximately 1,000 mu) and boasted seven docks (docks). Historical records indicate that large treasure ships were "all built at the Yard," making it the world's largest imperial shipyard. Gradually abandoned during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the site remained after centuries of vicissitudes, leaving only the remains of three of the ancient docks: today's docks 4, 5, and 6.
