Zhengzhou Botanical Garden is located 500 meters south of the intersection of Zhongyuan West Road and the West Fourth Ring Road in Zhongyuan District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Within the former Zhengzhou City Second Nursery, it is east of the West Fourth Ring Road and north of Fangxun Road. The garden covers a total area of ​​861.84 mu (approximately 1.8 acres) and has a total building area of ​​11,511 square meters. Construction began on September 3, 2007. To date, the garden has planted nearly 50,000 trees, 700,000 flowering shrubs, 13,000 square meters of vines, 130,000 square meters of ground cover, and 143,000 square meters of lawn.

The garden boasts over 36,000 square meters of water and houses a collection of over 1,500 plant species and hundreds of thousands of plants, making it a "botanical museum" of the Central Plains. Within the eastern section of the Zhengzhou Botanical Garden, there are 15 specialized gardens, including the Ginkgo Garden, the Pine and Cypress Garden, the Magnolia Garden, the Peony and Peony Garden, and the Bamboo Garden, focusing on the collection and display of plant species. In the western section, there are 10 themed gardens, including the Rock Garden, the Bonsai Garden, the Aquatic and Wetland Plant Garden, and the Climbing Vine Garden, focusing on the application of plant science, embodying a "learning through entertainment" approach.
