Bailongtan Scenic Area is located in the valley of Longmenkan Village, Longwu Scenic Area, West Lake, Hangzhou. It is a paradise with natural wildness of mountains and valleys, 15 kilometers away from the center of Hangzhou .

The scenic area boasts unique and beautiful scenery, with cascading waterfalls, lush forests, and a pleasant climate. Along the valley and along the mountain stream, you can admire the streams, waterfalls, canyons, and trees, and listen to the sound of wind, water, birdsong, and insects. It is a natural oxygen bar in the suburbs of Hangzhou.

The scenic area boasts the highest waterfall in Hangzhou's suburbs , the Bailong Waterfall. With a drop of approximately 50 meters, the water flows through a serpentine ravine embedded deep within the precarious cliffs, resembling a white dragon soaring through the air, cascading into the pool like mist and smoke, sending up countless water droplets that shimmer in the sunlight.

The great Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai, upon hearing of the beauty of Bailongtan, yearned for it and composed a poem praising it: " I have heard of Longmen Mountain, a paradise, and the cascading waterfalls of Bailongtan . " Emperor Qianlong, during his several trips south of the Yangtze River, visited Bailongtan twice. " The Milky Way slants across the sky, and frogs croak in the waterfalls of the four mountains. Tomorrow I intend to go to Fusang, and I'll be allowed to go fishing on the rocks. " These were the sentiments of the modern poet Yu Dafu after visiting Bailongtan.
