Puxian Temple, located at No. 76, Chongren Lane, Qiyi Street, is a relatively well-preserved Han Buddhist temple in Lijiang Old Town. Built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, it enshrines the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra. According to the Qing Dynasty's "Guangxu Lijiang Prefecture Chronicle," Puxian Temple is located outside the west gate of the prefecture. It was built during the Daoguang reign. Its architectural style combines the Naxi style of a quadrangular courtyard with distinct features of Han Buddhist temples.

Puxian Temple boasts a typical "quadrangle, five courtyards" courtyard design. The main hall, a one-story building facing east, features a single-eaved, nine-ridged, gabled roof and raised-beam roof. Three side rooms flank the north and south sides, and a two-story, double-eaved, gabled roof gatehouse stands to the east. To the left of the gate stands a stone tablet inscribed with the words "Always Abide" from the 12th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1886). The courtyard is shrouded in tranquil trees, and a local Naxi band performs traditional music, making it a perfect spot for a break while exploring the ancient city.

The temple faces south, with the main entrance through the center of the gatehouse. Flanked by two bungalows on the east and west sides, it forms a central courtyard with four small patios at the corners. The main hall houses statues of Samantabhadra, Manjusri, and Guanyin, among others. The courtyard is covered in colorful murals and is dotted with elegant trees. For a long time, it has served as a venue for religious activities and leisure activities for local residents.
