Explore the stunning landscapes of Zhaojin Xiangshan Scenic Area, which includes hiking trails, beautiful natural scenery, and historic landmarks. You can also visit the temple and take a boat ride in the nearby lake. The area offers a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation and spiritual reflection.

According to the Zhaojin-Xiangshan Scenic Area's overall plan, the scenic area will focus on developing two key areas: Red Revolutionary Tours and Buddhist Cultural Tours, as well as four tourism groups: Zhaojin's famous Red Town, the Xuejiazhai Ruins, the former Red Barracks Site, and the Daxiangshan Temple. Zhaojin Town, home to the Zhaojin Revolutionary Site, is located 50 kilometers northwest of Yaozhou District, within the southern section of the Ziwuling Mountains at the border of Shaanxi and Gansu. The area boasts rolling hills, punctuated by dramatic peaks, representing a typical Danxia landform, crisscrossed by ravines. Zhaojin, encompassing 25 square kilometers and boasting rugged terrain, has long been a military base, with both the Zhou Dynasty and the Later Qin Dynasty originating here. Throughout Chinese revolutionary history, Zhaojin made significant contributions to the victory of the revolution.
The Zhaojin-Xiangshan Scenic Area, approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Government in May 1999, is a national 4A-level scenic area, one of the 100 classic red tourism attractions nationwide, a national patriotic education demonstration base, a national youth education base, a field teaching experience site for the China Yan'an Cadre School and the Shaanxi Provincial Academy of Administration, a national Danxia landform geological park, one of Shaanxi Province's 21 key scenic spots, and a provincial key cultural relic protection unit. Positioned as a "revolutionary holy land and Guanyin temple," the scenic area focuses on red revolutionary tourism, green ecological tourism, and Buddhist cultural tourism. It is a large-scale comprehensive scenic area integrating revolutionary tradition education, religious cultural baptism, and leisure and vacation enjoyment. Located 50 kilometers north of Yaozhou City and 100 kilometers south of Xi'an, it covers a planned area of 312 square kilometers, with a core area of 83 square kilometers. It boasts beautiful natural scenery, well-preserved forest vegetation, and rich flora and fauna. There are 661 species of wild plants, over 140 species of animals, 841 species of insects, and over 20 ancient and famous trees. With a forest coverage rate of 84.3%, the scenic area is an ideal destination for ecotourism.
It is a warm temperate continental semi-humid monsoon climate zone with a cool climate, no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer, making it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
The main attractions include the Xuejiazhai Revolutionary Site, the former site of the Red Army Barracks, the former site of the Chenjiapo Conference and Daxiangshan.
