Baoshi Liuxia is located on Baoshi Mountain on the north bank of West Lake. In addition to the various stone landscapes, Baoshi Mountain also has many sparkling red pebbles. Whenever the sun shines, the whole mountain is covered with flowing pebbles, especially when the red light of the rising sun or setting sun shines, it is extremely dazzling, as if countless gems are shining, hence the reputation of " Baoshi Liuxia " .

Baochu Pagoda stands tall and majestic on the eastern peak of Baoshi Mountain. Originally a nine-story brick and wood structure, its current solid brick structure was rebuilt in 1933 to imitate the Qing Dynasty original. Although no longer accessible, its beautiful appearance and prominent location have made it a striking landmark of West Lake.
