Dayu, a valley in the Zhongnan Mountains, lies within Chang'an, about 40 miles from Xi'an. Within the valley, visitors can find scenic spots such as the Jiawu Terrace, Ganhua Creek, and alpine meadows. The Dayu River meanders through the valley, and the Dayu Reservoir stands at its mouth. A highway has been extended to a mining plant 10 kilometers south of the valley's entrance. In ancient times, this area served as a key route into Chang'an from Hubei and southern Shaanxi.
On top of this high mountain, under the blue sky and white clouds, after eating and drinking your fill, you can lie down on the soft meadow on the ridge, surrounded by nature. Under the blue sky, you can watch the white clouds floating before your eyes, relax your whole body, and enjoy the tranquil beauty of nature.
It has a warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate with distinct seasons: cold, warm, dry, and wet. Winters are cold, windy, foggy, and with little rain or snow; springs are warm, dry, windy, and changeable; summers are hot and rainy, with a prominent summer drought and frequent thunderstorms and strong winds; and autumns are cool, with a rapid drop in temperature and significant autumn rain.
