Ouyang Courtyard is a well-known wealthy family in the ancient town. It is located on the northwest side of Sifang Street in Sideng. It is the westernmost family in the "Three Family Lane". It was built and completed by the ancestor of the Ouyang family, Ouyang Jing, whose name was Jianguang, in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, about 100 years ago.
The Ouyang family home embodies the typical Bai architectural style of "three courtyards, a screen wall, four side courtyards, and five patios." It also includes a public inn (also known as a horse inn) and two gardens, covering approximately 1,300 square meters. The current gate is a stone structure with a round arch. It features a lion relief. Above the gate, carved flowers and birds are flanked by various calligraphy and paintings. Each painting is unique, its artistic conception distinct, and never duplicated. The entire gate exudes a sense of grandeur, distinction, and luxurious construction.
The low-latitude plateau has a monsoon climate; Ouyang Courtyard is one of the most typical Bai ethnic minority residences in Sideng Street, and is suitable for travel in all seasons.
