West Lake New Pear Garden, also known as the Home of Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera, is located in the Yanggong Dike Scenic Area of West Lake, next to the former residence of Gai Jiaotian. It is the Zhejiang Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera Art Association, an exchange venue for Zhejiang Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera artists, and a leisure and entertainment venue full of cultural atmosphere, integrating theatrical culture into garden culture.
The New Pear Garden, though small at around 200 square meters, is quite charming. The central pavilion, less than ten square meters, serves as a miniature stage. Thirty pear trees, each adorned with white jade, emanate a subtle fragrance, a lingering aroma resembling a silver sea of snow.
