Zhang Cibai, the owner of Xixi Plum and Bamboo Villa, won praise from predecessors and contemporaries for the beauty and style of his plum and bamboo trees, which also made Plum and Bamboo Villa quite famous. Coupled with the unique natural environment of Xixi, by the Qing Dynasty, " Exploring Plum Blossoms in Xixi " became one of the Eighteen Scenic Spots of West Lake in Hangzhou, adding to the modern value of Plum and Bamboo Villa.
