The Yazhou Academy, also known as the Yazhou Confucius Temple, is located in the ancient city of Yacheng Town, Sanya City. It served as the highest institution of learning in ancient Yazhou and is the most famous monument dedicated to Confucius in my country's southernmost region. Constructed during the Qingli period of the Northern Song Dynasty, it boasts a history of over 900 years and is the southernmost Confucian temple in China.

The temple features the Dacheng Hall, the Wenming Gate, the Chongsheng Shrine, and the Zunjing Pavilion. The Wenming Gate, in fact, opened to the Yazhou Academy, a landmark within the overall structure that symbolizes the flourishing of culture and education. The most noteworthy feature of the Yazhou Academy is the renowned Tang Dynasty monk Jianzhen, who left behind a collection of Buddhist scriptures intended for Japan, a magical treasure in Yazhou's cultural history.
