The Laoxiangfeng Scenic Area, located in Xiaoyuzi Village, Dahuashan Town, Pinggu County, gets its name from the giant natural elephant peak within the area. It's 80 kilometers from Beijing. Spanning over 40 square kilometers, the area boasts lush forests, steep cliffs, vibrant flowers, and natural elephant formations. Dotted throughout the area are over 30 unique landscapes, each offering a unique and fascinating experience.
The Old Elephant Peak Scenic Area is dotted with over 30 natural attractions, including the Chrysanthemum Valley, the Pine Forest, the Ten Thousand Grass Valley, the Ancient Castle Floating Clouds, and the Tiger Claw Peak. The Old Elephant Peak, in particular, resembles a conjoined mother and child elephant, with the mother elephant's head facing west and her tail facing east, while the child's head facing east and its tail facing west, their companionship a truly captivating experience. The entire scenic area exudes a quaint, untamed charm, showcasing the natural wildness of nature, untouched by artificial refinement.
Summer and autumn are the best time to visit Laoxiang Peak. In the golden autumn season, the thousand-acre orchard in the valley is full of fruits, and wild chrysanthemums are everywhere, which are available for tourists to pick and enjoy.
