
Many scenes from the TV series "Journey to the West" were filmed in Zhangjiajie, one of which was this location. Gravity develops vertical joints in the rigid quartz sandstone. Under the intense erosion of water, the rock layers not only disintegrate and collapse, but also are transported by the currents. The remaining rock forms a magnificent, unique, precipitous, beautiful, secluded, and vast peak forest, forming the core of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
