Introducing Sheepskin Cave

Yangpi Cave is located at the junction of Qingzhen and Xiuwen counties in Guizhou Province. An underground river flows northeast for 3 kilometers before emerging in an elliptical depression 750 meters long, 300 meters wide, and 100 meters deep. After 400 meters, it plunges underground again, forming a blind valley. Atop the riverbed, a nearly 100-meter-high, knife-cut cliff rises. Composed of white limestone, it blocks the river, shaped like a tea table and as white as jade, earning it the name Yuji Mountain. Beneath the cliff lies a massive cave waterfall—Yangpi Cave Waterfall, also known as Tianzhudong Waterfall. The waterfall is 41 meters high, 20 meters wide at the top, and 30 meters wide at the bottom, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

Things to note when traveling to Yangpi Cave:

  1. It is recommended to bring a raincoat, shoe covers/slippers, and a change of clothes in case of emergency;

  2. The best viewfinder in front of the waterfall is at a certain distance from the waterfall. It is recommended to use a 200mm telephoto lens and wear a bright-colored jacket when taking photos.

  3. The popular photo-taking spots are all rocky and muddy, so please wear non-slip shoes. It is not recommended to go there on rainy days.

  4. Bring your trekking poles and be careful; it is not recommended for children to go there, as the path is slippery and difficult to climb, and the path is narrow and has no guardrails.
