
Liuzi Temple, also known as the Liu Zihou Ancestral Hall, is located in the Liu Zongyuan Memorial Hall in Lingling District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. It commemorates the renowned Tang Dynasty writer Liu Zongyuan. Construction began in 1056 during the third year of the Zhihe reign of Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, and the existing structure was renovated in 1877 during the third year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty.
The Liuzi Temple is grand, majestic, and imposing. It houses numerous stone carvings, inscriptions, and plaques from various dynasties, among which the "Lychee Stele" holds great historical and cultural value. The temple also showcases Liu Zongyuan's life and literary achievements, allowing visitors to learn about his life and thoughts.
