Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing is located west of West Lake, in Qingzhiwu at the foot of Lingfeng Mountain. Lingfeng Temple was built during the Kaiyun period of the Later Jin Dynasty. It boasts Cuiwei Pavilion, Mianyun Hall, Miaogao Terrace, and Xibo Pond. By the early Wanli period, the temple was ruined and the monks dispersed, leaving only the halls.

During the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Zhejiang governor Lianxi rebuilt Lingfeng Temple and planted over 100 plum trees around it. In the first year of the Xuantong reign, Zhou Mengpo planted another 300 plum trees, making it a great place for plum blossom viewing, hence the name "Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing."

The best place to appreciate the plum blossoms at Lingfeng is Yaotai halfway up the mountain. Standing on Yaotai, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery at the foot of the mountain.
