The Northeast region is a geographical, cultural and economic region in China, not an administrative region. Today, it mostly refers to Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Jilin, and the five leagues and cities in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Hulunbuir City, Tongliao City, Chifeng City, Xing'an League, etc.).
The Northeast, with its distinct four seasons, boasts China's largest plain. It boasts rich educational resources, a thriving cultural sector, and robust industrial strength. Strengths include high-end manufacturing, electronics and information technology, IC equipment, high-tech, aerospace, agriculture, animal husbandry, and tourism. It boasts the most comprehensive industrial sectors in China, and boasts a deep integration of diverse ethnic cultures, with the Han ethnic group being the predominant ethnic group. The Northeast holds a significant position in China, boasting abundant tourism resources, including unique forest, grassland, wetland, ice and snow, industrial, and agricultural tourism resources. Its superior ecological environment makes it a key destination for winter tourism and summer vacations in China.
The Northeast region is generally high in altitude and can be visited in all seasons, but autumn and winter are the best seasons with the most spectacular snow scenes.
