Nanjing Ape-Man Cave
In Leigong Mountain, west of Tangshan Subdistrict, lies a vast cave complex covering tens of thousands of square meters. A relatively complete ancient human skull fossil unearthed within the cave has been scientifically identified as that of the Nanjing Man, who lived approximately 300,000 years ago. This confirms that the Yangtze River Basin is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. Tangshan is also renowned for its hot springs, which are undoubtedly among the best.
