
Fengqiao Ancient Town is located in Huqiu District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, at the intersection of the ancient post road and Fengjiang River. It consists of Fengqiao Street and Hanshan Temple Lane. The city was formed along the river, the streets were formed because of the water, and the town was formed by the temple. It has a unique water town charm.
From the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has always been a famous commercial town in the country. Due to the rich commodities and convenient information, it has become a densely populated place, thus accumulating rich Wu folk customs and various folk arts.
The line from "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge" - "The moon sets, the crows cry, and the sky is full of frost. The maples by the river and the fishing fires face my sad sleep. The bell of Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, ringing at midnight, reaches the passenger ship" - made "Maple Bridge" famous through the poem, and it has flourished for thousands of years and has become a famous tourist attraction far and wide.
