Gele Mountain is located in the central part of Shapingba District, Chongqing, 16 kilometers from the center of Chongqing. It got its name because Dayu, while controlling floods, summoned guests to perform music and singing here.

Gele Mountain is famous for the remains of the wartime capital during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Baigongguan and Zhazidong prisons, especially with the widespread circulation of the novel "Red Rock" across the country.
