Introducing Lemur House

Located in the heart of the Chengdu Zoo, the Lemur House, built in 2002, is the zoo's first facility designed to simulate the wild habitat of its animals. It's home to eight ring-tailed lemurs and 21 squirrel monkeys, with four to six ring-tailed lemurs and four to seven squirrel monkey babies born each year.

The Lemur House is one of the most representative new buildings. Ring-tailed lemurs are native to the Madagascar Islands in Africa and are not commonly found in my country. Therefore, the playground simulates their natural habitat, with trees, grass, rocks, swings, and water flowing seamlessly into the landscape. The main structure and exterior walls are constructed from modern materials such as bulletproof glass and natural stone, and the roof is supported by stainless steel mesh ropes. The overall design is naturally harmonious and beautiful, perfectly accommodating both visitors and the animals.
