Chengdu Library was rated as a national first-class library in the fifth public library evaluation and grading. In 2010 , Chengdu Library added the sign of Chengdu Ancient Books Protection Center. In 2016 , it obtained the "Movable Cultural Relics Restoration Qualification" issued by the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau.

The library is open 365 days a year, with service windows including the Chinese book lending room, Chinese periodical lending room, children's reading room, Chinese book reading room, periodical reading room, newspaper and magazine reading room, ancient book reading room, research reading room, electronic reading room, foreign language reading room, local document reading room, and various document provision centers.
