Called "Ziku" (Font Library) or "Xizi Palace" in Sichuan, and also known as "Jingzi Pavilion," "Xizi Tower," or "Fenzi Furnace" in other regions, the ancients used this structure specifically for burning paper with writing on it. Historical records indicate that Ziku towers were first constructed during the Song Dynasty and became quite common by the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
