Upon completion of the Phase II expansion project, the airport will integrate multiple modes of transportation, including aviation, rail, and road, to create an efficient and convenient transportation system. This will transform the airport into a key land, sea, and air transportation hub for Hainan Province, and a regional aviation hub connecting the golden shipping lanes of South China and Southeast Asia.

The terminal's decor reflects the tropical charm of a coastal city, with simple, vibrant colors. The exterior features courtyards, flowing water, and decorative elements, highlighting Hainan's evergreen and vibrant seasonal flora. Outside, there are seven enclosed passenger boarding bridges, a 643-meter-long overhead bridge, and a 5,000-square-meter parking lot.
