Zhongshuge, located on the third floor of Xiangzhang Fashion Plaza, has been honored as "Shanghai's Most Beautiful Bookstore" and is considered a benchmark for the transformation of physical bookstores in China. Zhongshuge Minhang Branch currently houses 60,000 books, primarily in social sciences and literature. To preserve the original store's characteristics and the affection of its long-time customers, it has set up a "store within a store" and retained a dedicated section for teaching aids and stationery.
As you walk into the store, you can immediately understand the meaning of "Zhongshu". There are books on two floors, up and down, on all sides. Even the floor of the lobby (covered with glass), the side of the stairs, etc., are filled with books, layer upon layer, densely packed.
A bookstore naturally wants to create a visual effect of being filled with books, but all the large spaces here are divided into small study rooms with different themes, which looks very delicate and considerate.
