Hotel Pools in February?

Anyone been swimming in a hotel pool in Vegas during the winter months? Staying for a week with older kids in late February - they love swimming so have asked for a hotel with a pool. Was looking at the Vdara that has a pool that seems like it will be open (guests there can also access to the Aria pools) but just wondering if it's really warm enough to swim?

The pools are heated, but are pool decks also heated when it's cold? We don't need a pool scene or bar (would be better without, actually) but would consider switching hotels to one that has an indoor pool or a comfortable cold weather set up.... Thanks in advance for any advice!

Swimming in Las Vegas in February is definitely possible, but there are some factors to consider. Most resort pools, including Vdara and Aria, are heated year-round, typically to a comfortable 80–85°F, which is warm enough for swimming even when the outside temperature is chilly. However, the pool decks themselves are usually not heated, so stepping out of the water can feel cold, especially if there is wind or cloudy weather.

At Vdara, the pool is a quieter, adults-oriented pool, and guests can also use the Aria pools. These pools are heated, but because February temperatures in Las Vegas can range from the low 40s to mid-60s°F, the outdoor areas may feel brisk when leaving the water. The poolside chairs are not heated, and there is minimal wind protection.

If comfort is a priority, especially for kids, you might want to consider hotels with indoor pools or pools that have partial covering:

  • MGM Grand – has an indoor/outdoor pool complex that is partially sheltered.
  • The Mirage – their pool is heated and partially protected, though still outdoors.
  • Signature at MGM – offers heated pools in a quieter, more controlled environment.
  • Wynn/Encore – pools are heated and the luxury cabana setups provide wind protection, but decks are still chilly in winter.

Tips for swimming in February in Vegas:

  • Check the hotel website or call to confirm pool temperatures and whether the pool is fully open in winter; some pools close for maintenance or weather conditions.
  • Bring robes or towels for comfort when leaving the water, since the air can feel cold on deck.
  • If your kids love swimming and you want uninterrupted fun without a bar scene, look for quieter resorts like Vdara or Signature that have adult-leaning or family-friendly heated pools.

Overall, swimming in late February is feasible at most major Vegas hotels with heated pools, but expect the pool deck to feel chilly. Indoor or sheltered pool setups will offer the warmest and most comfortable experience.
