Fireworks

Does anyone know if there will be Fireworks on the beach Monday night - the 26th? If so, can you see them from the 12th Street Beach. TIA

Good question. I checked — for Ocean City, Maryland the regular public fireworks displays are usually limited to certain summer dates (primarily Mondays or Tuesdays in July–August, plus special-event nights).

Here’s what I found about fireworks and whether you’ll likely see them from 12th Street Beach on “Monday the 26th”:

  • No fireworks officially scheduled on the 26th (if the town’s typical summer-schedule rules apply). The official weekly public fireworks run only through late August, and the publicly listed schedule ends by late August.
  • When fireworks do happen (early summer, holidays), the display site is downtown — near the boardwalk / Inlet / North Division Street beach area.
  • Visibility from 12th Street Beach is unlikely. 12th Street is a bit north of the downtown fireworks-launch zone, and other sources of past viewer reports suggest that fireworks are best seen from somewhere south or near the boardwalk area.

Conclusion: Unless the town has scheduled a special fireworks show for that date (not part of the standard summer weekly schedule), you shouldn’t count on fireworks on Monday the 26th. Even if there were a show downtown, watching from 12th Street Beach probably wouldn’t give you a good view — you’d need to get closer to the boardwalk/Inlet area for a decent vantage point.
