Visiting the first week of April and I'm torn between staying at princess Royale resort or staying on the Boardwalk. We have a 9 and 12 yr old and the princess royals pool looks awesome online. But sometimes online photos can be deceiving so was hoping for some Insight. Because the weather will be cooler and the kids won't be able to swim in the ocean we r thinking a cool indoor pool might be fun. BUT are we going to limit ourselves by staying so far away from the Boardwalk. Also my husband is an avid Fisherman and he saw the pier at the end of the board walk so he is thinking maybe we should stay closer to the pier. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Is the princess Royale as cool as it looks online and r we limiting what we can do being so far from the Boardwalk. Thanks again for the help!!
The Princess Royale Resort and a hotel on the Boardwalk each offer different experiences, and it really depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for. Here's a breakdown of both options to help you make an informed decision.
The Princess Royale is a well-known resort with excellent amenities, including a large indoor pool that would be perfect for your 9 and 12-year-old, especially if the weather is cooler and they can't enjoy the beach. The resort's pool area is quite large and well-maintained, and many guests rave about the fun atmosphere, which would likely be a hit with the kids. The resort also offers a variety of other family-friendly features, including a game room, an on-site restaurant, and easy access to the beach (although swimming in the ocean may be off-limits in early April due to colder temperatures).
On the other hand, staying on the Boardwalk will put you right in the heart of the action, especially if you want to be closer to attractions like the pier, arcades, and restaurants. The area is a bit more lively, especially in the warmer months, but even in April, you’ll find that there are plenty of places to eat and shop. As for the pier, if your husband is an avid fisherman, staying closer to the Boardwalk would certainly be convenient, since the pier is a prime spot for fishing.
Ultimately, it comes down to your priorities. If you’re looking for a quieter, resort-style atmosphere with great indoor amenities, the Princess Royale is a great choice. However, if you prefer being in the middle of the action, closer to the Boardwalk and the pier for fishing, staying on the Boardwalk might be more convenient, even though you’ll be farther from a large indoor pool.
If you’re only planning to go to the Boardwalk for a few hours a day and the kids will enjoy the pool and other activities at the resort, the Princess Royale will likely offer the best overall experience. But if you're keen on having easy access to the pier and being right in the heart of things, you may want to look at hotels along the Boardwalk for more convenience.
Either way, you’ll have plenty of things to do in Ocean City, so you’ll have a great time regardless of where you stay!
