Solo traveler for a week

Question

Hi, I'm thinking of going to St. Pete for a week or two, just to go somewhere warm to work remotely. I don't know the area at all and won't have a car. I would like to be walking distance to the beach and any shops for coffee, food, etc. I will uber anywhere I can't walk to.

Is there a particular area I should look into for hotel/vrbo. Haven't figured out the budget, but not too worried about that. All help is much appreciated.
