Red Bluff Trip Report - Jan 2025

Some quick notes/recommendations re: recent family business visit to Red Bluff:

Flew LAX to Sacramento on SW, purchased additional "early bird" option. Everything worked out easily, not sure added expense for early bird necessary since such short unfilled flights.

Picked up Budget rental car for 2hour drive SAC to Redding. Budget was great at pick up and return. Best price (through Costco) and no one in line.

Once again stayed at Hampton Inn, Adobe Road, Red Bluff. What a great hotel - amazing staff, immaculate rooms and hotel, and delicious hot, full breakfast included. A+

Want to mention some restaurants: Applebee's, Shari's Cafe and Pies, and Bud's Juicy Kones. All great food, value, service.

Last mention goes to "Vino Volo" located in Sacramento airport at the Southwest boarding gates. Lovely relaxing wine bar, they also serve food.

Here’s a summary of a recent family business trip to Red Bluff in January 2025, including travel, accommodations, and dining recommendations.

Flights & Transportation:

  • Flew from LAX to Sacramento on Southwest Airlines. Purchased the “Early Bird” option, which was convenient but may not be necessary for short flights that were not full.
  • Picked up a Budget rental car for the 2-hour drive from Sacramento to Redding. The rental process was smooth, both at pickup and return, with excellent service. Booking through Costco provided the best price, and there were no long lines.

Accommodation:

  • Stayed at Hampton Inn, Adobe Road, Red Bluff. The hotel staff were excellent, the rooms and facilities were immaculate, and the complimentary breakfast was full, hot, and delicious. Highly recommended (A+ experience).

Dining:

  • Applebee's – good value, reliable food, and friendly service.
  • Shari's Cafe and Pies – classic diner-style food with generous portions and excellent service.
  • Bud's Juicy Kones – casual, tasty, and great for a quick bite or dessert.
  • Vino Volo (Sacramento airport, Southwest gates) – lovely wine bar with a relaxing atmosphere; serves both wine and food, ideal for a pre-flight break.

Overall impressions:

The trip was straightforward and efficient. Red Bluff offers comfortable hotel options and a few reliable dining choices. Travel through Sacramento airport was smooth, and having a rental car made regional travel easy. This trip would serve as a good template for others visiting Red Bluff or the surrounding area for business or leisure.
