Travelzoo

As we all know Travelzoo changed their platform and require a $40/year membership.

I have used 2 maybe 3 promotions off their website pre Covid, but I never felt the value was there for me to spend $40/year.

Curious if anyone has paid the fee and if what on offer is the same? has it improved? Given this is a Vegas forum, thinking more specifically for what's on offer for Vegas.

Thanks!

Travelzoo's shift to a $40/year membership model has definitely raised some questions among users, especially those who were already using the platform for free or had a mixed experience with the deals offered pre-COVID. Whether or not the membership fee is worth it largely depends on how often you travel and the types of deals you're looking for.

From a Vegas perspective, the value of Travelzoo’s membership can vary depending on what you’re after:

  • Vegas Deals: Travelzoo still offers discounts for Vegas hotels, shows, and experiences, but whether these deals justify the $40/year fee depends on your plans. For example, they may offer flash deals on hotel stays at properties like Bellagio, Caesars Palace, or the Venetian. Some members report that they do find some solid savings on high-end hotels and shows.
  • Exclusive Access: The membership provides access to "Top 20" deals, which includes discounts on luxury hotels, resorts, and shows, sometimes even exclusive promotions not available to non-members. This could be valuable if you're planning on booking multiple activities or staying at premium resorts.
  • Local Vegas Experiences: If you're open to activities like tours, dining experiences, or spa services in Vegas, Travelzoo may offer some solid deals. Some members have mentioned finding discounts on day trips, tickets to attractions, or even high-end dining packages at top Vegas spots.
  • Limited-time Offers: While there are still some limited-time offers, the frequency and variety of these promotions seem to have decreased for some users, and some have expressed frustration over needing to pay for what used to be free access to the same deals.

Overall, if you're a frequent traveler to Vegas or interested in a more "curated" experience (such as luxury hotel deals or unique Vegas activities), the membership fee could be worthwhile. However, if you’re more of an occasional traveler or prefer to book through other platforms (like booking.com or directly through hotel websites), you might not see enough value to justify the cost. A lot of the same deals can still be found without the membership if you’re willing to keep an eye on discounts.

It really boils down to your travel habits and whether you enjoy the convenience of accessing those exclusive deals through Travelzoo's platform. Some people report they’ve noticed improvements, while others feel the change doesn’t offer enough additional value.

Hope this helps in making your decision! Let us know if you find any killer deals on Vegas trips!
