Hello, we are looking at some 3 bedroom units in Kahana Village for a July vacation. We will be traveling with our adult children (26&27). Can anyone comment on the area? Specifically beaches and accessibility to restaurants etc. We will have a car and don’t mind driving, but do enjoy morning or evening walks. If not Kahana Village, any other suggestions that have 3 bedroom units for under $10,000 per week.
Kahana Village is a great choice for a family vacation, especially if you're looking for a quieter, more relaxed area on Maui. It's located between Ka'anapali and Napili, so you're close enough to popular spots like Lahaina but without the hustle and bustle of those tourist-heavy areas. Here's a breakdown of what to expect in terms of beaches, dining, and accessibility:
Beaches: Kahana Village is situated right on the water, and you'll have easy access to a couple of nice beaches for swimming, snorkeling, and sunset walks. While the beach in front of Kahana Village is small, it’s great for peaceful strolls and relaxing by the water. If you're looking for more expansive beaches, nearby Napili Bay is just a short drive away, offering clear waters and calm conditions ideal for families. Ka'anapali Beach, just to the south, is also known for its long sandy shoreline and resort amenities.
Restaurants and Amenities: Kahana Village is fairly close to some local dining options, though it’s a bit quieter compared to areas like Lahaina or Ka'anapali. You'll find a mix of casual dining spots, including local seafood and Hawaiian cuisine. There are a few restaurants within walking distance from Kahana Village, such as Miso Phat Sushi and The Beach House, but for more options, a short drive to Lahaina or Ka'anapali will give you access to a wider range of restaurants, from casual to upscale.
Walking and Accessibility: Since you enjoy morning or evening walks, Kahana Village's location is great for this. You can easily stroll along the beach or head toward the nearby resort areas of Ka'anapali and Napili for scenic walks. For anything more extensive (like hiking), you'll need to drive, but there are plenty of scenic drives and trails around Maui.
If Kahana Village doesn’t feel like the perfect fit or if you're looking for additional options with 3-bedroom units, here are a few suggestions that might suit your needs and budget:
Overall, Kahana Village is a peaceful and convenient spot for your Maui vacation, offering a good balance of beach access, relaxation, and nearby amenities. The resorts mentioned above could provide additional options with similar beachfront access and spacious accommodations that fit your budget.
